Welcome to another edition of WOMEN'S WRESTLING WEEKLY—a rundown of the events which have transpired in the world of women's professional wrestling over the past several days not just with the Superstars on WWE programming, but with Impact Wrestling's Knockouts, ROH's Women of Honor, and even a glimpse at the women on the independent circuit.
WWE Monday Night Raw
Dana Brooke vs Tamina
Awful! I know the WWE 24/7 Championship has never meant a damn, but this truly is the worst of the worst for the so called title.
Winner: Dana Brooke
Rating: 1/5
Liv Morgan & Rhea Ripley vs Carmella & Zelina Vega
Slow and plodding, this was just a mess to watch.
Winner: Liv Morgan & Rhea Ripley
Rating: 1.5/5
AEW Dark: Elevation
Ruby Soho vs Session Moth Martina
Squash City!
Winner: Ruby Soho
Rating: 2/5
Kris Statlander vs Emi Sakura
Squash City!
Winner: Kris Statlander
Rating: 2.5/5
WWE NXT 2.0: Roadblock
Wendy Choo & Dakota Kai vs Raquel Gonzalez & Cora Jade
A fine match between both teams, this was an example of how storylines and hard hitting action can be melded together to create something entertaining on NXT 2.0. Raquel Gonzalez looked great, but this match was all about how deadly Dakota Kai truly is.
Winner: Wendy Choo & Dakota Kai
Rating: 3/5
Kay Lee Ray & Io Shirai vs Kayden Carter & Kacy Catanzaro
Once more, NXT 2.0 was the scene of solid women's wrestling that truly lived up to the legacy of Dusty Rhodes. I have to admit, Kay Lee Ray is slowly starting to endear herself to me in NXT 2.0 compared to her run in NXT UK.
Winner: Kay Lee Ray & Io Shirai
Rating: 3/5
Fallon Henley vs Tiffany Stratton
Terrible. But admittedly, both women have a hell of a long way to go if they want to end up on the main roster.
Winner: Fallon Henley
Rating: 1.5/5
AEW Dark
Anna Jay vs Marina Tucker
Squash City!
Winner: Anna Jay
Rating: 2/5
Red Velvet vs Kiera Hogan
Squash City!
Winner: Red Velvet
Rating: 2/5
Kris Statlander vs Kelsey Reagan
Squash City!
Winner: Kris Statlander
Rating: 2/5
AQA & Ruby Soho vs Diamante & Emi Sakura
A fun little sprint that showcased all four women well. AQA looked great, although the landing on the Shooting Star Press should have been safer.
Winner: AQA & Ruby Soho
Rating: 2.5/5
Nyla Rose vs Skye Blue
Squash City!
Winner: Nyla Rose
Rating: 2/5
AEW Wednesday Night Dynamite
Thunder Rosa vs Leyla Hirsch
Both women are standard bearers of AEW's women's division, once again rising to the challenge to put on a solid and enjoyable match. Facing Britt Baker next week for the AEW Women's World Championship proved to be a fabulous incentive, which will now provide Thunder Rosa a second shot at immortality, this time inside the confines of a steel cage!
Winner: Thunder Rosa
Rating: 3.5/5
Impact Wrestling
Chelsea Green, Mickie James, & The IInspiration vs Tasha Steelz, Savannah Evans, & The IInfluence
Standard multi-woman tag team fare. Not bad, but not great either.
Winner: Chelsea Green, Mickie James, & The IInspiration
Rating: 2/5
WWE NXT UK
There were no women's matches this week.
WWE Friday Night SmackDown
Naomi & Sasha Banks vs Natalya & Shayna Baszler
This match suffered from a poor narrative, whilst the interference didn't help. Poor, all things considered.
Winner: Naomi & Sasha Banks
Rating: 2/5
WWE NXT Level Up
Ivy Nile vs Brooklyn Barlow
Squash City!
Winner: Ivy Nile
Rating: 2/5
AEW Rampage
Jamie Hayter vs Mercedes Martinez
Can we just stop showcasing Jamie Hayter, please? She was poor here, as she has been in about 95% of her matches.
Winner: Jamie Hayter
Rating: 1.5/5
MATCH OF THE WEEK:
Thunder Rosa vs Leyla Hirsch
Simply a fun and entertaining match.
WOMAN OF THE WEEK:
Thunder Rosa
Thunder Rosa once again showcased why she deserves a chance to become AEW Women's World Champion. Good luck in the steel cage match Rosa!
