Research and compilation: These statistics, calculations, classifications and historical notes were researched, compiled and maintained by Anthony Mango for Smark Out Moment. Reuse should include clear attribution and a link to this page.

Methodology: The 40 briefcase possessions include 38 ladder-match victories plus two transfers; 38 possessions have ended and two are active. Repeat winners are counted separately. The resolved-contract success rate counts 29 championship wins from 38 completed possessions, including Asuka's title award; the two active contracts are excluded. Formal cash-in success counts only contract-activated matches. Career totals combine alternate identities where specifically noted. WWE-recognized holding durations are used for finalized rankings, with actual elapsed time identified separately when relevant. Active contracts show running calendar-day counts starting October 10, 2026, and do not enter finished-duration rankings or averages.

MONEY IN THE BANKCASH-IN FIRSTS & UNUSUAL OUTCOMES

Title Awarded Without Cash-In - 2020

The ladder match was revealed to have been for the Raw Women's Championship itself. She is treated as a successful championship outcome without a cash-in match.

Stripped Victory & Rematch - 2017

The only ladder-match victory to be stripped and followed by a full rematch. Carmella won both matches.

Nullified Cash-In Attempt - 2011

Daniel Bryan attempted to cash in against Mark Henry, but the attempt was nullified before Bryan later succeeded at TLC.

Invalid Cash-In Reversed - 2020

The Miz's TLC cash-in was ruled invalid because John Morrison submitted the contract on Miz's behalf, so the contract was returned.

Non-World Title Cash-In - 2022

The only holder to cash in for a non-world championship, unsuccessfully targeting the United States Championship.

WrestleMania Cash-Ins

Seth Rollins was the first in 2015. Damian Priest became the second in 2024. Both succeeded.

Triple Threat Conversions

Seth Rollins and Naomi succeeded after joining ongoing title matches; Drew McIntyre failed.

First World Championships

16 holders won their first main-roster world championship through the briefcase: 11 men and 5 women.

Per-show success: SummerSlam is 4-for-4. Money in the Bank is 5-for-6. SmackDown is 4-for-5. Raw has 5 successful traditional cash-ins from 8 attempts, plus Asuka's separate title award. Hell in a Cell produced the only cash-in to end in a no-contest; Drew McIntyre's 2024 attempt means it is not the only PLE with an unsuccessful cash-in.
