The following are my predictions for the 2023 AEW WrestleDream PPV. Check back for WrestleDream 2023 results and review coverage here when the time comes.

Bryan Danielson vs. Zack Sabre Jr.
Yeah, this is guaranteed to be a great match. There doesn't need to be any story for me and most people to be intrigued. That's rare from my perspective, but it just fits that "dream match" status. To be hokey, the real winner here is the fans, as either man coming out on top is totally fine. Since Danielson beat Kazuchika Okada, I'm wondering if he'll lose this one to counterbalance that, or if he'll win this as well so that it hypes him up even more for an eventual loss to Okada at Wrestle Kingdom. For now, I'll go with the latter, since Zack Sabre Jr's title isn't on the line.
PREDICTION: Bryan Danielson wins.
"Hangman" Adam Page vs. Swerve Strickland
Midcard feud. Midcard match. Ideally, I'd like Page to be doing something more important, but I guess it's necessary for him to take a step down in order to boost Swerve up. If that's the game plan, Swerve needs to win this, but I can't help but to feel like it's just going to be the simple setup of Hangman coming out on top and that's it.
PREDICTION: Adam Page wins.
AEW World Tag Team Championship Match: FTR (c) vs. Aussie Open
Meh. Look, the match will be fine. But it's just going to be another one of those "guys step in the ring and do a match and you forget about it after the event's finished" situations. I'm not invested in Aussie Open dropping the ROH tag titles and then pivoting to getting this title shot, and I'm especially not interested in them somehow winning the titles, which I just don't think will happen. I'd rather this be on an episode of Rampage and for a bigger match to be taking place here.
PREDICTION: FTR wins.
ROH World Tag Team Championship 2-on-1 Handicap Match: MJF (c) vs. The Righteous
Why are they not putting the MJF title defenses on pay-per-views and just going with the tag team titles for their developmental brand? Lame. If this match even happens at all, considering Adam Cole could be injured, I just assume they'll retain the titles. But if they're forced to have another title change because of an injury like the Rey Fenix situation with the International Championship, then I'm disappointed The Righteous would end up being the new champions. I would have rather seen Alex Reynolds and John Silver win those belts a few weeks ago if that ends up being the case.
Update: With Adam Cole's injury, this is now just a handicap match. Lame. No switch-up angle where he gets a replacement partner? Or are they going to do that on the event itself and we'll see that happen at both here and WWE Fastlane within the span of 6 days?
PREDICTION: Adam Cole and MJF retain.
Trios Match: Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi vs. The Don Callis Family (Sammy Guevara, Will Ospreay and Konosuke Takeshita)
Toss a bunch of big names together, have a fresh heel turn with Sammy Guevara, and you're good to go. Thumbs up. I think The Don Callis Family winning this makes the most sense as that continues to put the heat in their direction, rather than potentially finishing up this feud.
PREDICTION: The Don Callis Family wins.
2-Out-of-3 Falls AEW TNT Championship Match: Christian Cage (c) vs. Darby Allin
I think it's great they had Christian beat Luchasaurus to win the title. That makes me chuckle. Dropping it now to Darby Allin would be disappointing to me. I'd rather see this feud end with Cage on top, moving on to someone else. But realistically, I think we're looking at a title change.
PREDICTION: Darby Allin wins.
Unified ROH World Championship Match: Eddie Kingston (c) vs. Katsuyori Shibata
Why is this happening outside of "because aren't you interested in the match? Eh?" Kingston just won the ROH world title. He's not dropping it. Certainly not to the ROH Pure champion. It's not like they're putting the Pure title on the line and merging that into the ROH world title. So ultimately, this is just another example of AEW putting a match out there in the spirit of in-ring action and face value of the wrestlers involved without doing any actual work in building a story or a "feud".
PREDICTION: Eddie Kingston wins.
AEW TBS Championship Match: Kris Statlander (c) vs. Julia Hart
This is just another random feeding. Statlander losing the title to Julia Hart would surprise me. They've done enough to build up Julia to be a viable contender for this midcard women's title, but I just don't think they waited all that time to have Statlander beat Jade Cargill, only for Stat to lose it to Hart at this particular moment.
PREDICTION: Kris Statlander wins.
AEW World Tag Team Championship No. 1 Contender's Four-Way Match: The Young Bucks vs. The Gunns vs. The Lucha Brothers vs. Orange Cassidy and Hook
The Lucha Bros are a team that wins these things every time I think that they won't, so I feel like I have to pick them just because my brain tells me not to. Any of these teams could go up against FTR and I wouldn't be shocked. OC and Hook together is interesting, but I'm wondering if they're included mostly just to get on the card in some capacity, rather than to win this. The Gunns are the only heels here, so they make sense to win in that regard. The Young Bucks are the perpetual rivals for FTR that they can revisit at any time. This is a tough one to call.
PREDICTION: The Lucha Brothers win.
Ricky Starks vs. Wheeler Yuta
This feels very "I don't know how to get these guys on the card. Maybe just...against each other? Good enough." They're talented. I like them both a lot. But I don't care about this in any way since there isn't anything hooking me other than the typical "good wrestlers will have a 10+ minute performance that you'll forget about soon after" experience.
PREDICTION: Flip a coin. It doesn't matter who wins.
