Wednesday Night War: AEW Dynamite vs. WWE NXT Review (November 27, 2019)

Posted by Anthony Mango Thursday, November 28, 2019
Welcome to another edition of Wednesday Night War from Smark Out Moment, where we compare this week's episodes of AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT and determine which one of the two was the better show.

which wrestling TV show was better this week NXT vs AEW

WEDNESDAY NIGHT WAR:

AEW DYNAMITE vs. NXT

FACTOR 1: MATCHES

AEW = I'm glad to see Best Friends getting another victory, Kris Statlander showed me more this time than before, and I'm still into Scorpio Sky as a potential major player. To be honest, Pac vs. Omega couldn't keep my attention as I was doing other things, so it might've been great, but it might've also fallen short. I'm just not sure.

NXT = Thumbs up for the tag title match, Mansoor actually getting used, Xia Li getting another win and Lio Rush against Akira Tozawa in particular.

WINNER: NXT

FACTOR 2: PROMOS

AEW = I wasn't into anything but the beginning of the show. Having Dustin Rhodes get attacked super fast and such isn't really anything worth talking about, but the Jericho party had some bright spots.

NXT = The beginning of the show as good, but not on par with Jericho's segment. I found it weird the fans were crapping on Candice LeRae during her part. That threw me off (not her fault). Shayna Baszler and Rhea Ripley...meh...standard.

WINNER: AEW

FACTOR 3: STORYLINES

AEW = Furthering The Inner Circle is okay but I was thoroughly underwhelmed with the Dustin Rhodes stuff. I'm curious what the whole Bunny, Blade and Butcher thing is all about. Other than that...meh...I don't really care that Moxley vs. Jericho is happening. Blasphemy, I know, but I've already seen it and the highlight of that feud was Mitch the plant.

NXT = For the most part, this was just fallout from Survivor Series and the most obvious next direction for everything. Someone wants revenge against Dakota Kai, Rhea Ripley wants her title shot and so does Tommaso Ciampa. That's not to say any of it was bad, but it was definitely predictable and didn't wow me.

WINNER: Tie

FACTOR 4: SCHEDULING / PACING

No real problems with either one of these, but I still think AEW would be better off shaving a few minutes from each match and breaking them up a bit.

WINNER: Tie

EXTRA CREDIT BONUS ROUND!!!

AEW as no plus or minus this week.

NXT gains a point for handling Bobby Fish's injury so well.

POINT ADJUSTMENTS: AEW (+0 / -0) / NXT (+1 / -0)

THIS WEEK'S WINNER = NXT

That's my pick for the better show of the week, but how do YOU stand?
Which was better, Dynamite or NXT?
