Points of Impact Wrestling: September 14, 2023 Results and Biggest Moments

Posted by Cherry Turner Thursday, September 14, 2023

Welcome to another edition of POINTS OF IMPACT—a breakdown of the top moments of this week's edition of Impact Wrestling.

This segment will fill you in on the most important parts of the show worth checking out or keeping up to date with, in case you missed this episode of Impact Wrestling.

Without further ado, let's inspect the biggest takeaways of the week!

IMPACT WRESTLING: SEPTEMBER 14, 2023 RESULTS

#5 - All The Women. All Of Them.

Impact’s 1000th episode opened with a massive promo, featuring the past and present of the Knockouts division converging in the ring. Gail Kim would, after Scott D’Amore started the show, come out and talk. She would be interrupted by the Beautiful People (minus Madison Rayne,) who were then joined by Giselle Shaw and her group. They would be interrupted by Jordynne Grace, who was interrupted by Deonna Purrazzo, who was interrupted by Trinity.

Awesome Kong, accompanied by Raisha Saeed, would enter to a great reaction, and closing out the group was the returning Mickie James. This was all to set up a massive tag match next week, which should, at the very east, be tons of fun.

#4 - Get The Nostalgia!

Team 3D competed as a team for the first time in 7 years this week, facing the Desi Hit Squad, in the form of Champagne Singh and the returning Rohit Raju. This was, I’m sure it’ll come as no shock to no one, a nostalgia squash match, with Team 3D picking up the win. It was lovely to see Devon back, as well as Raju, who in this writer’s opinion, was always an underrated member of the Impact roster.

#3 - Ride Or Die Or Lose

Alisha and Eddie Edwards battled Kazarian and Traci Brooks in a tag match this week, in what is (hopefully) the end of the feud between the two families. Physical from the start, with a fast pace maintained throughout, this was a very entertaining, if sloppy in places match.

Traci would get the win after hitting Alisha with the Fade to Black, and after the match it was announced that Traci would be entering this year’s Impact Hall Of Fame, as well as the already announced Mike Tenay and Don West.

#2 - Roll On, Number 8

As part of the nostalgia-based festivities, the 8th ever Feast or Fired match took place this week, with a smorgasbord of Impact talent in the match. With the Digit Media Championship being one of the titles to win a shot at for the first time, it was wonderful to see this match type back.

Chris Bey would get the first briefcase, followed by Crazzy Steve, then Yuya Uemura, and lastly Moose. We’ll find out next week what the results are.

#1 - I’m not typing out the whole 10 times thing

Lio Rush is ridiculously talented. While tonight wouldn’t go in his favour, with his first X Division title reign coming to an end, I want to highlight that. Injury, mental health issues and bad luck have prevented Rush from building up much momentum post WWE, and the argument could very much be made his WWE run was affected by the entitlement and politics of his fellow wrestlers. It feels good to see him finally be backed by a company and gain momentum.

Chris Sabin is the star of the X Division. A faithful steward of Impact, and an amazing worker, he deserved his flowers on this night. After he and Rush had a thrilling match, a ShellShock/CradleShock combo would be enough to win Sabin his 10th X Division title.
