AEW Title Change: New Champion Crowned at Battle of the Belts II

Posted by Anthony Mango Friday, April 15, 2022

The AEW TNT Championship has changed hands as Sammy Guevara defeated Scorpio Sky to win the title at AEW Battle of the Belts II on April 15, 2022.

My immediate reaction: Frankly, I'm surprised. I just assumed Guevara losing the title to Cody Rhodes, winning it back and losing it to Scorpio Sky meant he wouldn't be the next in line again, and that someone else like Swerve or Keith Lee would beat Sky. I guess Tony Khan wants to capitalize on the boos Guevara is getting lately? To be fair, I don't even know why fans are booing him, outside of being jealous that he's with Tay Conti. Are you going to boo Adam Cole for being with Britt Baker and so on, too?

Since this happened, be sure to check out the updated full list of title changes for this year and the list of current champions and my predictions for who will take the belts away from them.
