Welcome to another edition of Wednesday Night War from Smark Out Moment, where we compare this week's episodes of AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT and determine which one of the two was the better show.

which wrestling TV show was better this week NXT vs AEW

WEDNESDAY NIGHT WAR:

AEW DYNAMITE vs. NXT

FACTOR 1: MATCHES

AEW = AEW Dynamite opened with an incredible Ironman match between Kenny Omega and PAC, which Omega won with a score of 2 falls to 1. This match was drama filled, with an emphasis on strong wrestling. This could have easily main evented an AEW pay-per-view, yet we were treated to this on television.

Inner Circle competed against Jurassic Express in an extremely entertaining tag team match, with Inner Circle surprisingly losing the contest. The quality of the match was great, although a clear step below Omega vs PAC.

NXT = Bianca Belair competed against Charlotte Flair to prove she deserved to be a part of Flair’s match with Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 36, and once again Belair put in a solid performance. WWE has a real talent in Belair, and although she came up short against Flair, she more than made herself look like a credible opponent.

Tommaso Ciampa defeated Austin Theory in a fun match, with Theory looking strong in defeat. Ciampa once again proved how talented he is in the ring, with Theory rising to the challenge of competing with one of the pillars of NXT.

WINNER: AEW

FACTOR 2: PROMOS

AEW = The segment between Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley to end the show was amazing, with Jericho relishing in running down Moxley. Moxley was not in the mood to put up with Jericho’s nonsense, however the strength of Inner Circle ensured they stood tall over Moxley. This was a great promo segment which really hit a home run.

NXT = Finn Balor delivered a passionate promo about how he is not a suck up to management, which was a refreshing take for his Prince character. Balor continues to go from strength to strength on the microphone.

WINNER: AEW

FACTOR 3: STORYLINES

AEW = Inner Circle vs Jon Moxley was once again the highlighted storyline, with fans fervently anticipating the interaction between Moxley and Chris Jericho. This has been a perfectly booked storyline, with Jericho looking stronger than he has been in many years.

The ongoing issues between Kenny Omega and PAC were once again addressed, however PAC is still eager for the storyline to continue despite his defeat. The issues between these 2 are compelling, and their matches are simply amazing as a result.

NXT = Bianca Belair once again highlighted how she should be a part of the WrestleMania 36 match between Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair, and despite losing, she fully proved just how talented and deserving she is.

Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano reignited their feud in a physical fashion as Gargano attacked Ciampa after his match with Austin Theory. This was an incredible sight as their long running feud has been incredible, with the next chapter sure to be unmissable viewing.

WINNER: AEW

FACTOR 4: SCHEDULING / PACING

AEW = AEW Dynamite was an absolute delight to watch. It featured incredible matches and built to AEW Revolution perfectly.

NXT = NXT was fun to watch, but it felt lacking in a few areas. The match quality was distinctly lower than what was available on Dynamite, which made the show less enjoyable.

WINNER: AEW

EXTRA CREDIT BONUS ROUND!!!

AEW gains points for opening the show with an incredible Ironman match.

AEW also gains points for the quality show ending segment between Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley.

AEW loses no points as this week’s episode of Dynamite was once again near perfect.

NXT gains points for elevating Bianca Belair through her match with Charlotte Flair.

NXT also gains points for the destructive fashion in which Imperium took out Finn Balor.

NXT loses points for WALTER not appearing with Imperium, as it would have had a much bigger impact.

POINT ADJUSTMENTS: AEW (+2 / -0) / NXT (+2 / -1)

THIS WEEK'S WINNER = AEW

With a score of 6 to 1, AEW once again wins this week’s Wednesday Night War. AEW Dynamite was an incredible show once again, and whilst NXT wasn’t as good, the show still remains better quality than Raw and SmackDown. Welcome to the best wrestling night of the week!

That's my pick for the better show of the week, but how do YOU stand?
