This 2011 WWE releases list is a year-by-year archive of WWE Superstars, wrestlers and on-screen talent who left the company during 2011. This resource tracks confirmed releases, roster departures, developmental exits, contract expirations and clearly labeled storyline firings from that calendar year.

Legend: 🔁 = partial roster exit or role change, not a full company departure.

WWE SUPERSTARS RELEASED IN 2011:

  • January 31 - 🔁 Husky Harris was removed from the main roster and sent back to developmental, later being rebranded Bray Wyatt.
  • March 25 - Finlay was released by WWE.
  • May 1 - Michelle McCool retired from full-time in-ring competition.
  • June 14 - Lucky Cannon was released by WWE.
  • June 25 - Chavo Guerrero was granted his WWE release.
  • August 5 - Chris Masters, Davey Boy Smith Jr., Melina and Vladimir Kozlov were released by WWE.
  • September 30 - Gail Kim left WWE after requesting her release.
  • October 28 - Maryse was released by WWE.
  • November 15 - Jack Korpela left WWE.
  • November 29 - John Morrison left WWE after his contract expired.
  • December 31 - Eden Stiles finished her WWE developmental run.

WWE KAYFABE FIRINGS / STORYLINE EXITS IN 2011:

  • May 17 - Jacob Novak was eliminated from the NXT competition format.
  • June 28 - Conor O'Brian was eliminated from the NXT competition format.
  • September 19 - The Miz and R-Truth were fired by Triple H in storyline after their Night of Champions attack.
  • October 10 - Jim Ross was fired by John Laurinaitis in storyline on Raw.
