Enzo Amore Suspended from WWE for Allegations of Sexual Assault

Posted by Anthony Mango - Monday, January 22, 2018

As of January 22, 2018, Enzo Amore (Eric Arndt) has been suspended, seemingly indefinitely, after being accused of rape by Twitter user @MissGucciWitch.

Their official statement WWE has given out to news sources reads as follows:

"WWE has zero tolerance for matters involving sexual harassment or sexual assault. Until this matter is resolved, Eric Arndt (aka Enzo Amore) has been suspended."

My reaction: My idea on this is exactly the same as it always is, where if someone is guilty of any kind of legitimate sexual abuse, they're a horrible person and they deserve whatever punishment they get, but with the way things happen nowadays, there is always a chance that this is a fabrication and the accuser is making things up. Enzo does seem like the type of person that could have done something like this, just based off his mannerisms and everything that keeps coming out about him, but that doesn't mean he's 100% obviously guilty. If he isn't guilty, hopefully this gets cleared up as soon as possible and doesn't tarnish his reputation. If he is guilty, by all means, let him go. WWE did the right thing here suspending him until an investigation takes place because releasing him would be jumping the gun and doing nothing would be sending the wrong message. However, I'm suspicious. If you start looking at her Twitter account, you'll see lots of reasons why it's easy not to believe her story, but it's not my place to say one way or the other. We'll find out more in time.

  • December 10, 2017 — LEGITIMATE SUSPENSION — At the start of the year, Rich Swann was already serving an indefinite suspension carried over from 2017.
  • January 22, 2018 — LEGITIMATE SUSPENSION — Enzo Amore was suspended indefinitely for allegations of sexual abuse
  • March 12, 2018 — STORYLINE SUSPENSION — Roman Reigns was "temporarily suspended" for disrespecting Vince McMahon.
  • June 18, 2018 — STORYLINE SUSPENSION — Ronda Rousey was "suspended for 30 days" after attacking Kurt Angle and several referees. This is just a means to keep her off the Extreme Rules card and not a legitimate suspension.

Rich Swann Suspended Indefinitely from WWE

Posted by Anthony Mango - Sunday, December 10, 2017

As of 12/10/2017, Rich Swann has been suspended indefinitely. He was arrested earlier this morning and is being charged with kidnapping and false imprisonment (punishable with up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine if he is convicted) along with battery ($1,000 fine and one year in prison).

The report from Gainesville police states that Swann got into an argument with his wife, indie wrestler Su Yung (Vannarah Riggs), after criticizing her performance at a show, which escalated into her jumping out of the car, Swann stopping in traffic, yelling for her to return, putting her in a headlock and dragging her back into the car, with other details saying she was possibly yelling for help and the car may have also hit a telephone pole in the process.

Their official statement on WWE.com simply reads as follows:

STAMFORD, Conn. — WWE has zero tolerance for matters involving domestic violence, and per our policy, Rich Swann has been suspended indefinitely following his arrest.

My reaction: Well, this is our first true suspension of the year, and it unfortunately had to be a crappy one that seems to be completely justified. If Swann was acting this way, there's no argument that he shouldn't be suspended, in my mind. He picked a terrible time, too, and we can all assume his title opportunity is long gone, too, as well as a good chance he will be fired.

Paige Suspended for 60 Days from WWE for Wellness Policy Violation

Posted by Anthony Mango - Monday, October 10, 2016

On October 10, 2016, Paige was suspended for 60 days after her second violation of the Wellness Policy.

Their official statement on WWE.com simply reads as follows:

STAMFORD, Conn. — WWE has suspended Saraya-Jade Bevis (Paige) for 60 days effective immediately, for her second violation of the company’s talent wellness policy.

My reaction: Paige has been tweeting things like "Rules apply depending on your status" and "Please don't get prescriptions or doctors notes. Not acceptable." Her father is claiming that this all a result of painkillers she was prescribed to deal with a long-term neck injury. Basically, they're treating this like a situation where she's being punished for no reason and should just quit. Giving her the benefit of the doubt, that might be true, but then again, Paige has had so many issues in the past, I have to side more on WWE's favor as what I believe. In any case, Paige seems to be causing too many problems and her release should be inevitable.

Eva Marie Suspended from WWE for Wellness Policy Violation

Posted by Anthony Mango - Thursday, August 18, 2016

On August 18, 2016, Eva Marie was suspended for 30 days after a violation of the Wellness Policy.

Their official statement on WWE.com simply reads as follows:

STAMFORD, Conn. — WWE has suspended Natalie Coyle (Eva Marie) for 30 days effective immediately for her first violation of the company's talent wellness policy.

My reaction: What is going on right now with all these suspensions?? I guess this is an actual legitimate reason for her to not be wrestling at SummerSlam, which is crazy considering her gimmick as of late.

Paige Suspended from WWE for Wellness Policy Violation

Posted by Anthony Mango - Wednesday, August 17, 2016

On August 17, 2016, Paige was suspended for 30 days after a violation of the Wellness Policy.

Their official statement on WWE.com simply reads as follows:

WWE has suspended Saraya-Jade Bevis (Paige) for 30 days effective tomorrow, Thursday, Aug. 18, for her first violation of the company’s talent wellness policy.

My reaction: Wow....so Alberto Del Rio gets suspended on the same day as Paige, they were split up during the draft, they've been barely used in any positive sense....I guess this is just another thing to chalk up to the idea that there are problems backstage.

WWE wellness policy violations and suspensions

On August 17, 2016, Alberto Del Rio was suspended for 30 days after a violation of the Wellness Policy.

Their official statement on WWE.com simply reads as follows:

WWE has suspended Jose Rodriguez (Alberto Del Rio) for 30 days effective tomorrow, Thursday, Aug. 18, for his first violation of the company’s talent wellness policy.

My reaction: Dude's been rumored to be pissed for a long time. Maybe he's acting out? Maybe the company pegged him for a drug test to screw him over so they have a reason to release him and save face by painting him as the bad guy? Either way, if he's guilty, he deserves to be suspended, and if he isn't, no matter what you think of him as a performer, he should be exonerated.

WWE wellness policy violations and suspensions

On Friday, June 17, 2016, WWE suspended Hall of Famer Jerry "The King" Lawler indefinitely after he was arrested for domestic violence.

Their official statement on WWE.com simply reads as follows:

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Jerry Lawler was arrested at his home Friday morning by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office in Memphis, Tenn.

According to a police report, Lawler and his girlfriend, Lauryn McBride, were taken into custody and booked on alleged charges of domestic assault—bodily harm, a misdemeanor.

WWE has zero tolerance for matters involving domestic violence, and per our policy, Jerry Lawler has been suspended indefinitely following his arrest.

My reaction: Just as I had said for Adam Rose in a similar situation, I'm on WWE's side 100% with this. They don't need the bad publicity and it's not something to mess around with. I wouldn't be shocked to hear that he gets released soon, just as Adam Rose did. (Update: The more information that comes out with this, the more I tend to believe that Lawler didn't necessarily do anything wrong. It seems like his girlfriend has a drinking problem and he was arrested just because it was the safest call to make on behalf of the police, as they wouldn't know the full scope of the situation. If that ends up being the case, then Lawler will be fine. If it comes out that he started the fight or anything like that, he'll end up suffering consequences.)

UPDATE: As of July 1st, his suspension has been lifted.

Adam Rose and Konnor Suspended from WWE for Wellness Policy Violations

Posted by Anthony Mango - Saturday, April 16, 2016

On Saturday, April 14, 2016, WWE suspended Adam Rose (real name Raymond Leppan) and one half of The Ascension, Konnor (real name Ryan Parmeter) for 60 days as part of the usual Wellness Policy rules and regulations.

Their official statement on WWE.com simply reads as follows:

STAMFORD, Conn. – In accordance with its Talent Wellness Program, WWE has suspended Raymond Leppan (Adam Rose) and Ryan Parmeter (Konnor) each for 60 days effective immediately for a second violation of the company’s policy.

My reaction: Hey, if you do the crime, you do the time. If we find out that there was some sort of glitch in the testing, then I'm sure these guys will be off the hook and no harm, no foul, but this is the second time both men have been suspended (Konnor having been suspended in September 2006 and Adam Rose back during his developmental days as well). Obviously, this isn't good for them. Both weren't in exactly fantastic spots in the company as it were, with The Ascension having a horrible run on the main roster and Adam Rose floundering in the same regard and only now hitting somewhat of a stride as the bottom of the totem pole on a stable of jobbers. I wouldn't be shocked at all to hear that either of these two, if not both, are released very soon.

UPDATE: Adam Rose has been suspended indefinitely on May 11th after being arrested for a domestic violence charge
