WWE FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN RESULTS: JULY 10, 2026

  • Promo: CM Punk spoke about being on SmackDown now, winning the WWE title from Sami Zayn on Monday Night Raw, and so on. Cody Rhodes came out to challenge him to a title match for SummerSlam, which Punk agreed to. Nick Aldis made it official (though we didn't get a graphic yet, and I'm suspicious that there won't be some wrinkles)
  • Finn Balor defeated Tama Tonga by pinfall. It felt like they rushed the end of this to try to cram in some more backstage stuff before a commercial break. (Note: I'm not mentioning all the times someone has a backstage interview where they just talk about how they're going to win the match set to take place later unless something interesting happens. There's no point in doing that for these shows, and that's going to be a policy going forward with my coverage.)
  • Backstage: R-Truth had to pay up to Fraxiom after losing a World Cup bet. War Raiders approached, not wanting to play games anymore regarding their challenge for the tag titles, but despite how they're supposed to be taken seriously and threatening, the moment Jimmy Uso and Jacob Fatu rolled up, Erik and Ivar just ducked it. Damian Priest then joined the fray and Priest ratted out that Royce Keys is here tonight as they're looking for him. R-Truth was trying to cover for Keys and asked Priest why he did that. Priest said "I told you, Royce Keys is not our problem." And just like that, we're on another commercial break.
  • After returning from that break, Gunther is mad and is "going to give Nick Aldis a chance to fix this" and to put him in the title match, even if it's a Triple Threat. He's got until the end of the night to make things right. Aldis said he'll take it into consideration.
  • More Promo Time: Jimmy Uso and Jacob Fatu called out Solo Sikoa. Royce Keys came out instead to call them out on how they've been saying his name. Jimmy said Keys is not part of their family and should stay out of family business, but Keys said family is more about loyalty than blood and Fatu's just about the only family he has left so he's got his back and doesn't want to see him fall. Jimmy threatened that if Keys crosses a line, he's not going to be able to walk back from it. Keys metaphorically and literally crossed the line, and when Jimmy said he and Fatu would put a beating on Keys, Fatu corrected him that this is all Jimmy and he's out, leaving the ring. Uso then called for Aldis to make a match between them official, trying to score a cheap shot, but Keys caught him, setting up...you know it...a commercial break! [I'm so glad this show is 2 hours again]
  • Jimmy Uso defeated Royce Keys by pinfall. Solo Sikoa was about to hit Jimmy Uso with a Samoan Spike, but Fatu came out to fight with him. This distracted Keys and opened an opportunity for Uso to spear him for the win. Fatu then also took out Keys, and Jimmy gave him a chair to use, but Fatu thought twice about it and gave him one more warning that next time, he won't stop.
  • Backstage: CM Punk wants Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae to stop moping and he's happy Sami Zayn is fired up and that others want to step up to challenge for the title. Finn Balor also came up to him to tease that he's also got the title in his sights.
  • Jade Cargill defeated Alexa Bliss and then injured her arm with a steel chair.
  • Lil Yachty talked to the higher ups and got Trick Williams a legacy title that has white fur for the strap. It's absurd and I love it.
  • Non-Title Match: Trick Williams vs Carmelo Hayes ended in a no-contest after both were attacked by a returning Baron Corbin!
  • Nick Aldis has booked Gunther to team with Sami Zayn to face Cody Rhodes and CM Punk in a tag team match at Saturday Night's Main Event, but doesn't change the SummerSlam match. Gunther then attacked Aldis. Officials tried to stop him, but he kept going at it until Cody Rhodes came out, but that was at 10 pm and the show got cut off hilariously before Cody even hit the ring.
