The Bella Twins tag title reign that was planned didn't happen, and WWE went with Paige as the replacement and stuck with this run longer than I thought they would, I'll give them credit for that. They've had them defend the titles on a regular basis. I can't say I enjoyed the ride, nor can I say that I think Fatal Influence holding the belts will be a huge step upward, but I'm down to see them win the titles and advance on the hierarchy, and I do think that will happen here.
PREDICTION: Fatal Influence take the titles.
No Disqualification Match: Danhausen vs. JD McDonagh
Obviously, Danhausen comes out on top, gets his Knicks jersey back, and I'd suspect may do so with a little help from Big Cass and/or Enzo Amore making their returns, based on all the rumors and chitter-chatter.
Update: They're advertising Big Cass for August 3rd, so I guess they decided they didn't want to book them for SummerSlam and instead of doing the return in New York where it would make the most sense and get the most pop and be a legitimate surprise, they'll just spoil it ahead of time, push it to another show that wouldn't mean as much, and effectively neuter it a bit. So dumb. I still think Danhausen wins, but I guess Big Cass and Enzo Amore won't have anything to do with it.
PREDICTION: Danhausen wins.
CM Punk and Cody Rhodes vs. Gunther and Sami Zayn
Boy, these really are "not premium" live events when you get what should really be a SmackDown match like this. Big names on the roster? Sure. No debate there. But this is a meaningless tag team match right now. Unless something happens because of this like there is a stipulation that gets attached and it leads to Gunther and/or Zayn being inserted into the title picture for SummerSlam, then it's the type of thing you don't need to watch if you're burned out from wrestling. Or, if you don't want to spend $600 for nosebleed seats to watch it on the monitor at MSG...
PREDICTION: Either this is a no-contest or CM Punk and Cody Rhodes win. I don't think the champion or challenger will be pinned.
Bayley vs. Lyra Valkyria
These poor girls had something like 3 weeks worth of WWE not giving them any attention for their feud, relegating them to things like 30 seconds of "we'll talk about it later" and nothing all much else, only to throw them onto this card where nobody is going to care and it's going to make them look like they're downgrading the event rather than participating in a special.
PREDICTION: Lyra Valkyria wins.
