WWE Draft 2021 Results of Trades Between Raw & SmackDown Rosters

Posted by Anthony Mango Friday, October 1, 2021

The 2021 WWE DRAFT is set to take place over two nights, starting October 1st on SmackDown and carrying over into the following Monday Night Raw on October 4th. Every Superstar from all rosters is eligible to be traded, including the champions, although WWE frequently leaves wrestlers out of the draft each year and keeps them as free agents.

Stay tuned to this post, which will be updated continuously throughout both nights to fill you in on all the trades in one convenient location. Make sure to keep refreshing for updates!

NIGHT 1 MAIN DRAFT RESULTS

Round 1:

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: Roman Reigns

- Typically, SmackDown doesn't draft first, but The Tribal Chief had to be acknowledged as the first pick and stay on SmackDown.

RAW DRAFTS: Big E

- Balance things out. But why not draft The New Day as a whole?

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: Charlotte Flair

- Uh...she's Raw women's champion...

RAW DRAFTS: Bianca Belair

- WHAT THE HELL? The one thing you should have done is put Flair and Belair on the same brand. Now you've already screwed up BOTH women's divisions and saddled yourself with repeats?!

Round 2:

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: Drew McIntyre

- Opponent for Roman Reigns. Makes sense.

RAW DRAFTS: RK-Bro

- At least this branded title is staying where it's at. This makes sense, too. A must-pick.

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods

- You're splitting up The New Day again. Why?

RAW DRAFTS: Edge

- Why bother drafting him if he's going to likely bounce around?

Round 3:

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss

- This is one of those picks where it depends where everyone else goes. It's a balancing act and they're already screwing it up with the women's division, so...

RAW DRAFTS: Rhea Ripley and Nikki A.S.H.

- Good!! Keep them away from Charlotte Flair! I still don't think they should be going against Bianca Belair, and I was hoping Ripley and A.S.H. could fight Becky Lynch (who I don't think should move to Raw, cause then Seth Rollins moves to Raw and I don't think that should happen, either). This whole Flair move screws everything up. But at least these two aren't on the same brand as Flair anymore.

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: Hit Row (Ashante "Thee" Adonis, B-Fab, Isaiah "Swerve" Scott and Top Dolla)

- So the NXT North American champion is on SmackDown. You've got two people in B-Fab and Top Dolla who aren't polished enough to be ready for the main roster. Adonis and Swerve are solid. Hey, what do I know, other than logic, right?

RAW DRAFTS: Keith "Bearcat" Lee

- Can the man get a solid push?

Round 4:

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: Naomi

- Earlier than I thought she'd go, but this is the right brand.

RAW DRAFTS: Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio

- I'm surprised, as Rey's always been more of a SmackDown guy, but I'm not utterly shocked to my core.

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: Jeff Hardy

- This needed to happen so he can fight Roman Reigns in particular.

RAW DRAFTS: Austin Theory

- A much better fit for Raw, overall. He's got such a bright future.

MAJOR NOTE: Brock Lesnar remains a free agent

- Lesnar clarified that "because of Paul Heyman" he's a free agent and he gets to go wherever he wants to go and do whatever he wants to do.

NIGHT 1 SUPPLEMENTAL PICKS

WWE often has supplemental picks that are announced on Talking Smack.

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: Aliyah, Drew Gulak, Mace, Mansoor, Mustafa Ali and Toni Storm

- It's about time Aliyah came up. She was in NXT for like a decade. Eventually, you have to sink or swim. I would have probably leaned more toward putting her on Raw, but this is fine. I'm glad to see Drew Gulak moved away from the 24/7 title scene, as he has much more to offer than that. Curious why they split Mace and T-Bar. Toni Storm is a big fish in a small pond on SmackDown, so that's good for her. Mansoor and Mustafa Ali wouldn't have been my picks over The Viking Raiders, but we'll see how the tag team division plays out.

RAW DRAFTS: Akira Tozawa, Alpha Academy, Apollo Crews and Commander Azeez, Doudrop, Drake Maverick, John Morrison, T-Bar, Nia Jax, Reggie, R-Truth, and Zelina Vega

- Hm. Crews and Azeez and Alpha Academy weren't moves I feel make a great amount of sense at this particular moment, but they might be great in the long run. The 24/7 crew staying mostly together is obvious. The T-Bar and Mace split is still curious. A lot of people staying the same.

NIGHT 2 MAIN DRAFT RESULTS

Check back during Monday Night Raw for the next set of draft picks featuring the following superstars from the night's pool:

Round 1:

RAW DRAFTS: Becky Lynch

- With the Charlotte Flair switch to SmackDown, this feels like it needed to happen outside of Bianca Belair winning the title at Crown Jewel. I still hate it that we have opposite champions.

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: The Usos

- They missed an opportunity dragging out The Usos at least a segment or two and showing Paul Heyman sweating it backstage, instead of just cutting to that afterward.

RAW DRAFTS: Bobby Lashley and MVP

- Not with The Hurt Business? How much do you want to bet they split them up again?

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: Sasha Banks

- At least she'll be separate from Bianca Belair.

Round 2:

RAW DRAFTS: Seth Rollins

- After Flair, it seemed guaranteed Becky would follow, which meant Seth was going, too.

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: King Shinsuke Nakamura and Rick Boogs

- This means Damian Priest will stay on Raw or lose the United States Championship.

RAW DRAFTS: Damian Priest

- There you go. Balance out the belts.

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: Sheamus

- Some people need to move around. We'll see how this pans out with the rest of the roster balancing act. Maybe it's good. Maybe it's just a change in brand color or throws off the scales.

Round 3:

RAW DRAFTS: AJ Styles and Omos

- Sure. It all depends on where some other people go, to be honest.

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: Shayna Baszler

- Hm. I wonder why they're setting up Baszler for this move.

RAW DRAFTS: Kevin Owens

- He'll be gone in January, I'm sure.

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: Xia Li

- Glad to see her called up, even though it throws the whole Tian Sha thing off.

Round 4:

RAW DRAFTS: The Street Profits

- Montez Ford following Bianca Belair was expected.

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: The Viking Raiders

- Absolutely necessary.

RAW DRAFTS: Finn Balor

- This is in opposition of Drew McIntyre going to SmackDown.

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: Ricochet

- Any chance he'll actually get a push? I sure hope so.

Round 5:

RAW DRAFTS: Karrion Kross

- This felt like it was going to happen if not just to not have him on the same brand as Roman Reigns.

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo

- Hm. Yeah, I'm cool with it for now.

RAW DRAFTS: Alexa Bliss

- Getting her on the opposite brand of Charlotte Flair is cool with me.

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: Cesaro

- I had thought they might switch him up. Depending on where others go, this could be a good thing for him to stay a bigger fish in a smaller pond.

Round 6:

RAW DRAFTS: Carmella

- Corey Graves is on the Raw commentary team and WWE likes to keep relationships together (thankfully). If this wasn't the case, I'd have been surprised.

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: Ridge Holland

- Frankly, I'm surprised. Not only are they splitting him from Pete Dunne, they're already jumping the gun on him from where I thought he'd be. I was expecting Holland to be the next champion or the one following that.

RAW DRAFTS: Gable Steveson

- WWE DESPERATELY wants this guy to be a game-changer for them.

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: Sami Zayn

- Like Cesaro and some others, finding out if this is a good spot for Zayn depends on how the rest of the rosters play out.

NIGHT 2 SUPPLEMENTAL PICKS FROM RAW TALK

RAW DRAFTS: Cedric Alexander, Dana Brooke, Dolph Ziggler, Jaxson Ryker, Liv Morgan, Mia Yim, The Miz, Robert Roode, Shelton Benjamin, Tamina, Tegan Nox, Veer

- Splitting up Nox and Shotzi is interesting. That poor tag team won multiple contenders shots and never once got their opportunity. WWE clearly just didn't believe in them.

- I'm also surprised Veer has split from Shanky and Jinder Mahal.

- Keeping The Hurt Business together is a good thing.

- Mia Yim on Raw makes sense, as that's Keith Lee's home.

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: Jinder Mahal, Natalya, Shanky, Shotzi

- Nothing much going on here that isn't addressed above, beyond Nattie staying on SmackDown while Tamina is on Raw. I'm curious what went into that decision.
