EXTRA AWARDS

Some awards were given out on the show that were never announced ahead of time, so they never had any nominees or anything.

Most Clever 24/7 Championship Pin of the Year: Drew Gulak

- He won for dressing up as a member of the cleaning staff.

Musical Performance of the Year: Elias

- Who else would it have been?

Social Media Superstar of the Year: Bayley

- Sure. I don't track the social media accounts or follow any of this, so...

Trash Talker(s) of the Year: Lacey Evans (female winner) and The Hurt Business (male winner)

- I don't remember Evans having any great quips. The Hurt Business is awesome, though.

WWE Network Documentary of the Year: The Last Ride

- To be honest, the Edge one is better overall. But this is #2.

Celebrity Appearance of the Year: Rob Gronkowski

- Ha! No. That was pretty awful.

Double-Cross of the Year: Bayley attacks Sasha Banks

- Imagine if this would have been done in front of an audience 2 or 3 years ago when they hadn't ran this into the ground.

Referee of the Year: Charles Robinson

- Poor John Cone. He spent 4 hours ironing that shirt just for Robinson to swoop in and steal the glory. LOL Cone wearing a wig and trying to steal the award popped me. That was gloriously dumb.

SUPERSTAR OF THE YEAR

NOMINEES:

  • Asuka
  • Bayley
  • Becky Lynch
  • Braun Strowman
  • "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt
  • Charlotte Flair
  • Drew McIntyre
  • Randy Orton
  • Roman Reigns
  • Sasha Banks

WINNER: Drew McIntyre

MY THOUGHTS: Good job picking the right person, everyone.

MATCH OF THE YEAR

NOMINEES:

  • AJ Styles vs. Daniel Bryan – Intercontinental Championship Tournament Finals: SmackDown, June 12, 2020
  • AJ Styles vs. Sami Zayn vs. Jeff Hardy – Intercontinental Championship Triple Threat Ladder Match: WWE Clash of Champions 2020
  • Becky Lynch vs. Asuka - Royal Rumble 2020
  • Drew McIntyre vs. Roman Reigns: Survivor Series 2020
  • Edge vs. Randy Orton – The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever: WWE Backlash 2020
  • Men's Royal Rumble Match: Royal Rumble 2020
  • Roman Reigns vs. Jey Uso – Universal Championship Hell in a Cell "I Quit" Match: WWE Hell in a Cell 2020
  • Sasha Banks vs. Bayley – SmackDown Women's Championship Hell in a Cell Match: WWE Hell in a Cell 2020
  • The New Day vs. The Hurt Business – Raw Tag Team Championship Match: Raw, Nov. 16, 2020
  • Undertaker vs. AJ Styles – Boneyard Match, WrestleMania 36

WINNER: Boneyard Match

MY THOUGHTS: Nah. Sorry. Totally disagree. That's an unpopular opinion, I know, but to me, this just doesn't register as a true enough match to be worthy of a vote. I'd pick a good number of these over it. Royal Rumble match, Bryan/Styles, etc.

RIVALRY OF THE YEAR

NOMINEES:

  • Drew McIntyre vs. Randy Orton
  • Edge vs. Randy Orton
  • Lana vs. Announcer Tables
  • R-Truth vs. The World
  • Sasha Banks vs. Bayley
  • Seth Rollins vs. The Mysterio Family

WINNER: Edge vs. Randy Orton

MY THOUGHTS: This was my pick. I'm all for it. I thought Banks and Bayley would win from your votes, though.

TAG TEAM OF THE YEAR

NOMINEES:

  • Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler
  • Shinsuke Nakamura & Cesaro
  • The Golden Role Models
  • The New Day
  • The Street Profits

WINNER: The Street Profits

MY THOUGHTS: This was my pick overall. Again, triple crown tag champs who have held the belts nearly the entire year. C'mon.

RETURN OF THE YEAR

NOMINEES:

  • Edge
  • Goldberg
  • MVP
  • Roman Reigns
  • Sami Zayn

WINNER: Edge

MY THOUGHTS: Come on. It had to be. If you voted for anything else, I don't know what you were thinking.

RING GEAR OF THE YEAR

NOMINEES:

  • Bianca Belair
  • Carmella
  • Charlotte Flair
  • Sasha Banks
  • Seth Rollins
  • Shinsuke Nakamura
  • The New Day

WINNER: The New Day

MY THOUGHTS: I'm pretty shocked, actually. I figured Sasha Banks would win this. The New Day's definitely not a bad choice, though. Frankly, the only one that would have made me call b.s. is Nakamura. New Day's had some great stuff this year and I'm glad they won.

BREAKOUT STAR OF THE YEAR

NOMINEES:

  • Bianca Belair
  • Dominik Mysterio
  • Murphy
  • Otis
  • The Street Profits

WINNER: The Street Profits

MY THOUGHTS: They're the only ones who actually won anything and were able to retain it. The Street Profits became triple crown tag team champions and haven't lost them after holding them nearly the entire year. Otis was given the Money in the Bank briefcase and lost it.

FEMALE SUPERSTAR OF THE YEAR

NOMINEES:

  • Asuka
  • Bayley
  • Becky Lynch
  • Charlotte Flair
  • Sasha Banks

WINNER: Sasha Banks

MY THOUGHTS: It SHOULD be Asuka based on pure accolades. However, we knew that wouldn't happen based on the way WWE's booked her as an afterthought where the titles and such make up for not being a creative priority. Banks is the next best option, though, so I don't disagree with it.

MALE SUPERSTAR OF THE YEAR

NOMINEES:

  • Braun Strowman
  • "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt
  • Drew McIntyre
  • Randy Orton
  • Roman Reigns

WINNER: Drew McIntyre

MY THOUGHTS: Well-deserved. No one else should have won it.

MOMENT OF THE YEAR

NOMINEES:

  • Bayley betrays Sasha Banks: SmackDown, Sept. 4, 2020
  • Becky Lynch announces her pregnancy: Raw, May 11, 2020
  • Drew McIntyre defeats Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship: WrestleMania 36
  • Edge returns in the Men's Royal Rumble Match: Royal Rumble 2020
  • Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman unite: SmackDown, August 28, 2020
  • The New Day gets drafted to different brands: Raw, Oct. 12, 2020
  • The New Day's farewell address: SmackDown, Oct. 16, 2020
  • The Undertaker's Final Farewell: Survivor Series 2020

WINNER: The Undertaker's Final Farewell

MY THOUGHTS: Just imagine how much better this would have been in front of a crowd and after wrestling a true final match. Disappointing as all hell, to be honest. I get why people voted for it in theory but in execution I'd go with Edge's return or Becky Lynch's pregnancy announcement.
