  • Corey Graves and Michael Cole describe the attack from RETRIBUTION last week and warn of further attacks.
  • RETRIBUTION surround the ring just as Big E vs John Morrison was about to start. They attack both men and flee. The Miz comes to the aid of Morrison as we go to commercial.
  • As we return from commercial, King Corbin explains backstage that leadership is needed. Big E says he is bruised and battered, noting he will beat John Morrision later tonight as it is the time to fight for SmackDown. Sheamus arrives, calling Big E desperate and alone. Big E reminds Sheamus that if he actually knew Big E, he would realise he is not alone.
  • Bayley and Sasha Banks are in the ring, with Bayley claiming RETRIBUTION want to hear what they have to say. Banks notes they will be defending the Women's Tag Team Championship at Payback, but tonight is about finding out who will face off against Bayley at SummerSlam for the SmackDown Women's Championship. Bayley and Banks turn their talents to ring announcing as they introduce the competitors for the Battle Royal.
  • Asuka defeated Peyton Royce, Billie Kay, Tegan Nox, Shotzi Blackheart, Lacey Evans, Naomi, Liv Morgan, Nikki Cross, Ruby Riott, Tamina, Dana Brooke, Bianca Belair and Shayna Baszler by being the last woman standing in the Battle Royal.
  • Sasha Banks and Bayley complain backstage about Asuka winning before The Empress of Tomorrow attacks the pair of them. Asuka is pulled off them as she taunts the champions.
  • A recap of the issues between Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville is shown. Rose shows off her new look backstage and notes what people have said about her hurts. Deville should know how hard she works and offers her former best friend a hair vs hair match at SummerSlam.
  • Sheamus tells security they can leave as RETRIBUTION won't turn up on his watch.
  • Nikki Cross embraces Alexa Bliss backstage and apologises for pushing her away a few weeks ago. Bliss claims she is fine, but she wants some answers from Braun Strowman.
  • Sheamus defeated Shorty G by pinfall.
  • AJ Styles makes his way to the ring flanked by Joseph Park. He says his opponent for the Intercontinental Championship is a pressing matter. He is annoyed by nerds and their statistics, but he realised he is a handsome stud of a nerd himself as he cares about statistics. He has hired a team to support his statistics, revealing himself as number one on a statistics board, whilst nobody has earned the right to be in the ring with him. Jeff Hardy interrupts Styles and explains he knows his own worth. Styles vs Hardy for the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam sounds cool, but Styles flat out refuses. Hardy attacks Styles and puts his name on the statistics board.
  • Lucha House Party steal the SmackDown Tag Team Championship belts from Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura backstage as we go to commercial.
  • AJ Styles confirms to Kayla Braxton that he will get his revenge on Jeff Hardy.

Shorty G arrives and apologises to Riddle for attempting to cash in on the King's Ransom. Riddle accepts the apology but is taken out by Corbin, who thanks Shorty G for his help.
  • Alexa Bliss is being interviewed backstage and notes she has been such great friends with Braun Strowman. She is asked if it could have become a romantic friendship, with Bliss noting it maybe would have become romantic. She is unsure why The Fiend targeted her, but she can feel his presence. Bliss is unable to answer how Strowman's comments last week made her feel as she looks on in sad silence.
  • Sonya Deville laughs at the thought of a bald Mandy Rose. She will make sure people's comments are true by accepting the hair vs hair match at SummerSlam. See you soon, baldy.
  • The SmackDown locker room surrounded the ring during Big E vs John Morrison. RETRIBUTION destroyed the backstage area and terrorised WWE officials and personnel during the match.
  • Big E defeated John Morrison by submission.
  • Sheamus takes out Big E with a Brogue Kick, whilst a bald Braun Strowman makes his way to the ring as we go to commercial.
  • Braun Strowman tells The Fiend he is now the most evil son of a bitch that anyone has ever laid eyes on. Alexa Bliss comes out to question Strowman's comments from last week, and Strowman explains Bliss used him. He says everyone that comes into contact with The Fiend changes, including Bliss herself. He tells her to leave the ring as he wants The Fiend, but Bliss asks him to look at her and slaps him in the face multiple times. Strowman lifts Bliss above his head as The Fiend's sound effects start, and slams Bliss as the lights go out. The Fiend is in the ring with Bliss when they return, with Strowman laughing on the titantron. The Fiend laughs in the ring and Strowman roars as we go off the air.
