Smark Out Moment

The WWE NXT Championship has changed hands as Tommaso Ciampa defeated Aleister Black to win the title during the tapings on July 18, 2018. This will air on the July 25th episode of the show.

My immediate reaction: WOW. I'm surprised they went with this. I figured Johnny Gargano would interfere, causing a double disqualification, and it would set up a Triple Threat that way. Then, Black would retain the title at TakeOver: Brooklyn, and move on to EC3. However, it seems like EC3 is almost more of a babyface right now, and while the Triple Threat is likely to still happen, the belt being on Ciampa is super shocking to me.
