FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN RESULTS: JULY 31, 2026
- Promo: Finn Balor reflected on winning and immediately relinquishing the Universal Championship at SummerSlam 2016 before discussing his #1 contender's match against Sami Zayn. Zayn interrupted to complain that he should be challenging for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam. Gunther attacked both men until Nick Aldis joined the fight and trapped Gunther in the Texas Cloverleaf. Gunther escaped while security entered the ring and kicked Aldis in the face.
- B-Fab and Michin defeated Tiffany Stratton and Chelsea Green by pinfall with the BTA on Green. Jade Cargill attacked Stratton behind the referee's back, leaving Green alone against both opponents. After the match, Stratton and Green fought B-Fab and Michin toward the backstage area while Charlotte Flair brawled with Cargill and knocked her out of the ring.
- Backstage: Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh confronted Fraxiom and Rey Fenix while looking for Danhausen. Mysterio suggested that the AAA Cruiserweight Championship would look good around McDonagh's waist, and Fenix accepted an impromptu title match for later in the show.
- Backstage: Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga said they had lost sight of their path and needed to put their family first. Haku appeared and reminded them that they were the sons of Haku, telling them to make people fear them again.
- Title-for-Title Match: WWE Tag Team Champions Wepa Up (Damian Priest & R-Truth) vs. AAA World Tag Team Champions The War Raiders (Erik & Ivar) went to a no-contest. The referee called for the bell after members of both teams shoved him while continuing to fight. The brawl carried through the arena until Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga attacked all four wrestlers. Haku then joined his sons in the ring.
- Backstage: After footage aired of a recent altercation between CM Punk and Cody Rhodes at a WWE live event, Punk said competition was more important than friendship and predicted that he would remain champion. Trick Williams interrupted and said he was eventually coming for Punk's title. Punk said he wanted new challengers and promised to "whoop that Trick" once Williams reached the top.
- Video Package: Nick Aldis discussed his wrestling career, the championships he won and his transition into becoming the SmackDown general manager. Aldis said he had been content with no longer wrestling until Gunther pushed him too far.
- In-Ring Segment: United States Champion Trick Williams called out Baron Corbin ahead of their SummerSlam match. Corbin said Williams lacked patience and vowed to choke him out before taking the championship. Williams responded that Corbin would hear 35,000 fans chanting "Whoop That Trick" at SummerSlam.
- Video Package: Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar inside Hell in a Cell at SummerSlam.
- Rey Fenix defeated JD McDonagh by pinfall with the Mexican Muscle Buster to retain the AAA Cruiserweight Championship. Dominik Mysterio repeatedly interfered until the referee ejected him from ringside. Danhausen and the Minihausens then attacked Mysterio and chased him backstage.
- Video Package: Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam.
- Lash Legend defeated Giulia by pinfall with the Lash Extension to qualify for the Interim WWE Women's Championship ladder match at SummerSlam. Legend claimed the final position in the five-woman match alongside Charlotte Flair, Jade Cargill, Tiffany Stratton and Chelsea Green.
- Promo: CM Punk interrupted Cody Rhodes' entrance before the two argued about their friendship and the Undisputed WWE Championship. Punk dared Rhodes to throw the first punch, which sparked a brawl around ringside and on top of the commentary table. Officials repeatedly attempted to separate them, but Punk and Rhodes continued fighting as the show ended.
