WWE SMACKDOWN RESULTS: January 23, 2026
- Promo: Sami Zayn blah blah. Trick Williams blah blah. Damian Priest blah blah. Everyone fights in confusion and Williams escapes. [Don't waste your time; pointless]
- The Miz is upset that Carmelo Hayes offered Ilja Dragunov the open challenge title shot, as everyone should hate each other. Melo says he hates The Miz, if that counts.
- Open Challenge for the WWE Men's United States Championship: Carmelo Hayes (c) defeated Ilja Dragunov by pinfall.
- Cody Rhodes and Jacob Fatu had a face-to-face argument backstage.
- Jade Cargill beat Chelsea Green, who had convinced Jordynne Grace to be ringside for the match. After the match, Grace challenged Cargill to fight right then and there, and Cargill backed off.
- MFTs (Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga) won the WWE Tag Team Championship from The Wyatt Sicks by pinfall!
- Backstage, R-Truth did the whole joke again with Nick Aldis about putting his balls in his hands in regards to the Royal Rumble. Aldis then talked to AJ Styles, and ultimately, Shinsuke Nakamura said he wants a match with Styles tomorrow on Saturday Night's Main Event so Styles can prove that he's still phenomenal.
- Nathan Frazer defeated Johnny Gargano by pinfall but Candice LeRae managed to keep Axiom's mask because Axiom's an idiot who put it on LeRae and then ran away from her for some reason. This was horribly stupid, particularly after the match prior was also the "MFTs still have the lantern" gimmick.
- Promo: Drew McIntyre belittled all four of the options to face him at the Royal Rumble.
- Backstage: Rey Fenix looked weak as hell with Trick Williams basically saying he doesn't even remember why Fenix is mad at him and doesn't remember his name or anything like that. Yikes. Who did Fenix upset backstage for him to be treated so much worse than Penta?
- Interview: Kit Wilson was about to speak on toxic masculinity. Immediately, Matt Cardona interrupted to say if they have a problem, they can have a match.
- Women's Tag Team Championship #1 Contenders' Triple Threat Match: Giulia & Kiana James defeated Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair and Nia Jax & Lash Legend
- Backstage: Sami Zayn tried to make up with Damian Priest, who wasn't interested, so Zayn basically said "Whatever, dude." He then slapped Drew McIntyre in the face after walking by him.
- Cody Rhodes had a backstage pep talk thing with AJ Styles, and then saw that Drew McIntyre had put a picture of himself with "The Real American Dream" written on it) on Cody's bus.
- Giulia and Kiana James were interviewed, where they had one of those weird things where Kiana James said Giulia would be in the Royal Rumble without acknowledging herself, so I guess that means James is on the backup list or not in the match, or they didn't realize how weird it is when a tag team partner declares their teammate and not themselves (*ahem*KAIRI SANE*ahem*)
- Trick Williams defeated Damian Priest by disqualification due to Zayn attacking Trick. Priest was mad about that. Trick got the better of them again, but ate an RKO. Zayn then had a stare down with Orton, who gave him an RKO.
