AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2025 Spoilers

Lights Out Steel Cage Match: Golden Lovers (Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi), Darby Allin, Hiroshi Tanahashi, and Will Ospreay vs. Death Riders (Claudio Castagnoli and Jon Moxley), The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson), and Gabe Kidd

Neat. This should be fun. It's Blood and Guts but without two cages, essentially. I bet you this actually was the plan, and if they had a bigger arena to work with, they'd have done the two cages.

PREDICTION: Team Will Ospreay wins.

Tag Team Match for the AEW World Tag Team Championship: The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin) (c) vs. FTR vs Brodido

I can't help but to assume the plan here is for FTR to win these titles so they can lose them to Adam Copeland and Christian Cage. The idea of having Edge and Christian as your tag team champions just makes perfect sense for Tony Khan to not want to pass up, and I don't blame him for it. I'd book that.

Hurt Syndicate can now also lose this match without losing, so that appeases that party if that's an issue. Bandido or Brody King takes the pin, I guess.

PREDICTION: FTR wins.

Adam Copeland and Christian Cage vs. The Matriarchy (Kip Sabian and Killswitch)

Edge and Christian are back together. Awesome. They beat these two on the way to getting their match against FTR, as mentioned.

Update: Now that Killswitch has been switched into this match instead of Nick Wayne, I'm actually changing my prediction. I think Copeland and Cage will have some communications problems, and that's going to lead to Killswitch getting the pin. They'll have to work harder to restore their friendship and unite properly. Then, they'll beat Kip Sabian and Nick Wayne, or Nick Wayne and Killswitch, and be truly back to being Edge & Christian again, essentially.

PREDICTION: Adam Copeland and Christian Cage lose.

Singles Match for the AEW Unified Championship: Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. Swerve Strickland

Okada just unified these titles (into this stupid name...I hate this championship). He's not losing it already and breaking them apart. Swerve is there to be an extremely viable contender who ultimately comes up short.

PREDICTION: Kazuchika Okada wins.

Singles Match for the AEW Women's World Championship: "Timeless" Toni Storm (c) vs. Athena

I would be all for Athena winning this championship. I'm hoping that happens. However, I don't think that's the case, for her to still be holding the ROH Women's World Championship and to win this at the same time. That is, of course, unless the whole plan is to have this come back around to Athena against Mercedes Mone, and this is the way to get TWO MORE titles on Mone. I don't count out that possibility at this point, but since I was surprised that Mercedes didn't just beat Storm, I'll guess that Storm is still the priority and will retain here.

PREDICTION: Toni Storm wins.

Four-Way Match for the AEW TBS Championship: Mercedes Moné (c) vs. Alex Windsor (AEW) vs. Persephone (CMLL) vs. TBD (Stardom)

Mercedes Mone retains. She's not dropping this belt to anyone outside the company, nor to Windsor.

PREDICTION: Mercedes Mone wins.

Singles Match for the AEW TNT Championship: Kyle Fletcher (c) vs. Hiromu Takahashi (NJPW)

No cross-brand belt changes. Sorry, Takahashi. Plus, Fletcher only just won this title.

PREDICTION: Kyle Fletcher wins.

Singles Match for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship: Zack Sabre Jr. (c) vs. Nigel McGuinness (AEW)

Of course, McGuinness isn't winning that title. Having Daniel Garcia ringside for this match is even more of a reason to assume he loses, as Garcia could flat out cost him. The match should be good, even though the outcome is predictable.

PREDICTION: Zack Sabre Jr wins.

Singles Match for the AEW World Championship: "Hangman" Adam Page (c) vs. MJF

I'm on the fence about this. MJF could very well win the title and sabotage the reign of Hangman. That would be a heat magnet type moment. But more than anything, I just think Page needs to hold this title a long enough amount of time for the payoff from All In to really sink in. You can't move on that quickly.

Addendum: On the go-home show, they changed this where the title can change hands by count-out or disqualification, and that MJF doesn't use up his contract for this match. I think that still means MJF is losing this, and seals the deal even more. That way, MJF can seethe, and Page can move on, only to eventually drop the title to MJF in the future when Friedman decides to do a Money in the Bank style cash-in at random.

PREDICTION: Adam Page wins.

This page will be altered on a regular basis to reflect changes to the show including any new matches added to the lineup, adjustments to the card, revised predictions and any other information about this event. Stay tuned for the latest updates!
