WWE SmackDown Results: October 23, 2020 Highlights Coverage

Tonight's episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown for October 23, 2020 is coming to you live from the WWE Thunderdome at Amway Center in Orlando, Florida.   • Kevin Owens starts the show with Daniel Bryan, putting him over by suggesting they form a team. Dolph Ziggler interrupts them with Robert Roode, with The Street Profits coming out shortly after. Not content with missing out, Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura also come out, leading to a brawl between the heels and faces.
  • The Street Profits, Kevin Owens and Daniel Bryan defeated Cesaro, Shinsuke Nakamura, Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode by pinfall.
  • Law and Otis starts, with JBL and Ron Simmons acting as the judge and bailiff respectively. The Miz mentions numerous precedents, whilst Otis fails to get his point over well. The Miz fires his lawyer, with Law and Otis to be continued.
  • Daniel Bryan asks to be fisted backstage as he, Kevin Owens, and The Street Profits celebrate their victory. Sami Zayn approaches Bryan to inform him that he alone will dictate the terms of how often he defends the Intercontinental Championship.
  • Bianca Belair defeated Zelina Vega by pinfall.
  • Kayla Braxton asks Shorty G in the ring about the reasoning behind challenging Lars Sullivan. Shorty G explains he will prove he belongs.
  • Lars Sullivan defeated Shorty G by pinfall.
  • Shorty G says he quits.
  • Seth Rollins is interviewed backstage, noting how Murphy disrespected him last week. Murphy is confused, but he needs to understand the greater good. Rollins is a saviour, whilst Murphy is a follower. Tonight, he will define Murphy's role for him.
  • Shorty G tells Adam Pearce he is done being Shorty G. He is tired with being a joke, seemingly returning to his Chad Gable moniker.
  • Bayley comes out to the ring, stating she is annoyed she has to address this situation. She says Sasha Banks is not the boss of her, which brings Banks out. She has the contract for their match in hand, with Bayley attempting to use the steel chair on Banks. The Boss evades the attack, once again asking for the contract to be signed. Banks attacks Bayley and forces her to sign the contract, promising that she will win the SmackDown Women's Championship on Sunday.
  • Law and Otis resumes, with John Morrison explaining the scars he has suffered as a result of Otis' actions. Rey Mysterio takes to the stand and supports Otis' right to cash in the Money in the Bank contract. Asuka gives her testimony, which Teddy Long says he understood every word of. Tucker explains The Miz deserved everything that came his way. JBL asks for order in the court, with Law and Otis to be continued after the commercial break. Once we return, JBL starts to rule in favour of Otis, only to change his mind once receiving a bribe from The Miz. JBL rules in favour of The Miz, who will face Otis at Hell in a Cell for the Money in the Bank briefcase.
  • Seth Rollins defeated Murphy by pinfall.
  • Aalyah begs Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio to help Murphy as Seth Rollins approaches with a kendo stick. She comes out to the ring, but Rollins still strikes Murphy with the kendo stick. Dominik comes out to stop Aalyah, but he is attacked by Rollins, which brings out Mysterio to protect his son and daughter.
  • Roman Reigns comes out flanked by Paul Heyman, but before he can speak, Jey Uso interrupts him from Reigns' private room. He says Reigns has changed, revealing himself to be Jimmy Uso, with Jey attacking Reigns from behind. Reigns stops him, only to be Superkicked and Uso Splashed. The Usos celebrate on the entrance ramp, whilst Reigns reveals if Jey quits at Hell in a Cell, he will fall in line, follow orders, and respect Reigns for all he does for their family. If not, The Usos are out of the family. Jey climbs the Hell in a Cell structure as we go off the air.
