WWE Extreme Rules: The Horror Show Spoilers

WWE Championship Match: Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler

Surprised they're going with Ziggler instead of a Lashley rematch. I figured they might save Ziggler for SummerSlam if they needed to and stretch the Lashley thing out an extra few weeks. Cool. I'm down to see this match. Ziggler's not as hot as he once was, but he's still one of the most capable in-ring performers to bank on..

PREDICTION: Drew McIntyre retains.

Wyatt Swamp Fight: Braun Strowman vs. Bray Wyatt

So this is non-title, which is good for Braun Strowman. I'm glad to see they're keeping the belt on him at least until SummerSlam, we'd assume.

It's also going to be a Wyatt Swamp Fight, which means some sort of cinematic affair and that's why they're subtitling this "The Horror Show" (which I find SO lame, by the way). I haven't been digging those at all lately, as they've been trying to be funny and failing miserably. Hopefully this is more Boneyard Match and less Money in the Bank.

PREDICTION: Braun Strowman wins, unless the plan is for him to lose this and turn heel by being warped by Wyatt again or something.

Raw Women's Championship Match: Asuka (c) vs. Sasha Banks

Did not expect this at all. I'd assume they'd have to do something where Bayley costs Banks the match so that they can start their split. Even if that doesn't happen, Asuka still keeps the belt. The match should be good, so that's something to look forward to.

PREDICTION: Asuka retains.

SmackDown Women's Championship Match: Bayley (c) vs. Nikki Cross

Filler. Total filler that we've seen before. I'm so so so so so so so SO tired of Bayley as champion. What WWE should do is have Sasha Banks help Bayley retain, only for Bayley to cost Banks her match against Asuka.

PREDICTION: Bayley retains.

Eye for an Eye Match: Seth Rollins vs. Rey Mysterio

So you win this by gouging someone's eyes, right? I mean, they can't have them literally pluck the eyeballs out, so it has to be something as simple as that. That could be horrendous if done poorly, cause someone could theoretically win with a simple Ric Flair poke.

I'm not feeling this. The feud's been dragged out and not all that interesting to begin with and I don't feel like this is going to have a proper payoff. Either Rollins loses and they at least spin this into him being blind but now, able to see things differently, or Mysterio gets blinded in the other eye and they try to make him some blind sensei type like Chirrut from Rogue One.

PREDICTION: Rey Mysterio wins.

United States Championship Match: Apollo Crews (c) vs. MVP

They debuted the new championship belt, which seems pretty intrinsically tied to MVP being the one who holds it. However, they've specified the winner of the match gets to take it—not that it's just MVP's to hold—which means it's Apollo's to lose, essentially.

I don't think that's going to happen. I expect a match between Crews and Bobby Lashley at SummerSlam. Then, the belt could be changing hands.

PREDICTION: Apollo Crews retains....and somehow starts holding that other belt?

SmackDown Tag Team Championship Tables Match: The New Day (c) vs. Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura

Since this didn't happen at Backlash and their SmackDown match was a no-contest that ended with Kofi Kingston being put through a table, this was a no-brainer. What isn't a no-brainer is who will win. I'm actually somewhat split. At the moment, I'm leaning toward The New Day, but I could see a scenario where Cesaro and Nakamura become champions, if not just for something different. It's not like New Day couldn't just win the titles back before Survivor Series or something.

PREDICTION: 50/50 The New Day retains.

PREDICTED MATCHES (as of 7/17/2020)

Raw Tag Team Championship Match: The Street Profits (c) vs. Andrade and Angel Garza

With The Viking Raiders out of the way and Garza/Andrade attacking The Street Profits, this is the most obvious thing to guess. It might not happen, but its the best guess.

PREDICTION: The Street Profits retain.

King Corbin vs. Matt Riddle

I could see this being added to the card at the last minute, but I think they might be stretching things out and hoping to do this at SummerSlam, instead.

PREDICTION: Matt Riddle wins.
