WWE Clash of Champions 2020 Results

SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match: Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura (c) vs. Lucha House Party

RESULT: Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura retained by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Nothing different than what we've already seen a number of times. It was filler.

Intercontinental Championship Triple Threat Ladder Match: Jeff Hardy (c) vs. AJ Styles vs. Sami Zayn

RESULT: Sami Zayn won the title!
THOUGHTS: Pretty damn good match. I loved the handcuffs to Hardy's ear, in particular. That was very cool. Let's hope WWE has some solid creative in mind for Zayn as champion more so than Hardy's lackluster reign.

Raw Women's Championship Match: Asuka (c) vs Zelina Vega

RESULT: Asuka retained by submission.
THOUGHTS: Zelina Vega put up more of a fight than I thought she would. I liked this more than I thought I would, too.

United States Championship Match: Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Apollo Crews

RESULT: Bobby Lashley retained by submission.
THOUGHTS: Another nothing match that we've seen a bunch of times.

Raw Tag Team Championship Match: The Street Profits (c) vs. Andrade and Angel Garza

RESULT: The Street Profits retained the titles by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: The end of this was definitely messed up. Garza is concussed or something and they must have decided to end the match without telling Andrade, who kicked out, as he normally should have. Here's hoping Garza's okay and that this wasn't some awful creative decision to make these two teams feud even longer going forward by giving them an out to say they shouldn't have ended the match, you know?

R-Truth won the 24/7 Championship back from Drew Gulak.

Bayley is cutting a promo about how she'll give a title shot to anyone tonight in place of Nikki Cross. Asuka answers the challenge.

SmackDown Women's Championship Match: Bayley (c) vs. Asuka

RESULT: Asuka won by disqualification when Bayley used a steel chair.
THOUGHTS: Nothing segment. I know this wasn't what WWE had planned, but I'd have to imagine the original idea wasn't anything great, either. At least Sasha Banks showed up to fight Bayley after the match.

WWE Championship Ambulance Match: Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Randy Orton

RESULT: Drew McIntyre retained the title.
THOUGHTS: Well, I was wrong about that RETRIBUTION interference, wasn't I? But hey, this was a good match and I'm glad McIntyre retained. I'm glad to be wrong.

Universal Championship Match: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Jey Uso

RESULT: Roman Reigns retained the title by Jimmy Uso throwing in the towel.
THOUGHTS: Awesome match. Big, big fan of all this.

Stay tuned to the post-show podcast for my thoughts on the card in more detail!
