The WWE United States Championship has changed hands as Kevin Owens defeated Chris Jericho to win the title on the May 2, 2017 edition of SmackDown Live.

My immediate reaction: Well that Jericho title reign was short lived, wasn't it? This was to be expected, though. AJ Styles wasn't going to face Jericho at Backlash with everything they had set up, nor was Jericho going to stick around while going on tour with Fozzy.
