WWE SUPERSTARS RELEASED IN 2017:

• January 27 - Mada was released by WWE.
• February 13 - Rosa Mendes retired from WWE.
• February 25 - Kenny and Mikey of the Spirit Squad were removed from the active WWE roster page.
• March 1 - Jack Swagger announced that he had requested his release from WWE.
• April 4 - Simon Gotch was released by WWE.
• April 23 - Tajiri announced that he was no longer with WWE.
• April 25 - Chris Atkins and Andrea D'Marco were released by WWE.
• April 27 - Theophilus Agbi was released by WWE.
• July 7 - Austin Aries was released by WWE.
• August 3 - HoHo Lun was released by WWE.
• August 4 - Eva Marie announced her departure from WWE.
• October 29 - Darren Young, Emma and Summer Rae were released by WWE.
• November 3 - Sawyer Fulton and Lee Gao were released by WWE.
• November 5 - Bronson Matthews was released by WWE.
• November 15 - James Ellsworth was released by WWE.

WWE ROLE CHANGES / PARTIAL DEPARTURES IN 2017:

• Tyson Kidd was moved to the WWE alumni section after his in-ring career ended, but he remained with WWE in a behind-the-scenes role.

WWE KAYFABE FIRINGS / STORYLINE EXITS IN 2017:

• March 20 - Mick Foley was fired as Raw general manager in storyline by Stephanie McMahon.
