FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN RESULTS: OCTOBER 2, 2026
- Women's Money in the Bank Triple Threat Qualifying Match: Tiffany Stratton defeated Tatum Paxley and Candice LeRae by pinning LeRae. Paxley hit LeRae with a 450 Splash, but Stratton immediately came off the top rope with the Prettiest Moonsault Ever to break up the pin and cover LeRae herself. With the victory, Stratton secured the final spot in the Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
- Backstage: Chelsea Green said she hoped Tiffany Stratton would win Money in the Bank. Nikki Bella confronted Green and reiterated that she intends to challenge for the WWE Women's Championship. Paige joined the conversation and told Nikki she would have to get through her first, leading to Paige slapping Bella. Paige vs Nikki was set for SmackDown in Sacramento in two weeks.
- Six-Man Tag Team Match: Ricky Saints and The War Raiders (Erik and Ivar) defeated AAA Cruiserweight Champion Rey Fenix and Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer and Axiom) by pinfall. Saints picked up the victory with Roshambo.
- Backstage: Cody Rhodes discussed tonight's Money in the Bank qualifier against Kevin Owens and Johnny Gargano. United States Champion Trick Williams interrupted and made it clear that regardless of who qualifies tonight, he expects to be the one leaving Money in the Bank with the briefcase.
- In-Ring: Undisputed WWE Champion Sami Zayn came to the ring to address the WWE Universe. Je'Von Evans interrupted Zayn to do the usual Money in the Bank threat about beating Zayn for the belt. Penta did the same after that. Next was Trick Williams to also do that. Zayn wrapped things up by going off on how they can't do what he's done and they don't deserve to be in the same ring as himself. Finn Balor came out for a stare down and to say briefcase or not, he's coming for the title. Zayn said if he wants to earn a title shot, he should go do something about it and earn it. Balor struck him and was then attacked from behind by Gunther, who then laid out Zayn as well.
- After the commercial break, Gunther beat up Danhausen.
- Blake Monroe defeated Giulia by pinfall.
- Men's Money in the Bank Triple Threat Qualifying Match: Kevin Owens defeated Cody Rhodes and Johnny Gargano by pinning Gargano. Rhodes was held back through interference from Randy Orton.
