WWE SMACKDOWN RESULTS: May 22, 2026
- Obviously, the show started with 15 minutes of "look who is walking to the arena" and recaps and Rhea Ripley just saying 3 sentences about how she'll fight Jade Cargill at Clash in Italy despite how that was already something they said 2 weeks ago. Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair came out to say they need to get on the same page with Ripley ahead of tomorrow's Saturday Night's Main Event six-woman tag team match. Fatal Influence interrupted, setting up a tag match for later, which Bliss said she wants Flair and Ripley to team so they can work out their issues.
- Royce Keys was justifiably mad at Solo Sikoa for costing him his match last week and a potential title shot.
- Talla Tonga defeated Shinsuke Nakamura by pinfall. Tama Tonga reiterated his loyalty to Sikoa by helping Tonga and Sikoa beat down Nakamura until Damian Priest ran out with a steel chair.
- Backstage, Nick Aldis spoke to Cody Rhodes about the Gunther segment for later. Sami Zayn then volunteered to help Rhodes out with Gunther, but Cody denied it, so Zayn flipped out that he doesn't have a spot on the show tonight and in comparison, "The Golden Boy" gets everything he asks for and such. Rhodes overheard this and got fired up, challenging Zayn to a match for later.
- WWE Women's United States Championship Open Challenge: Tiffany Stratton (c) retained over Lash Legend by pinfall.
- The power was flickering here and there. It turns out that's due to Danhausen's cloning machine. The Miz and Kit Wilson didn't have a guess for what the Danhausen stuff is all about. Fraxiom came over to interrupt the interview for no real reason other than for The Miz to eventually challenge Axiom to a match for next week's show, since that'll be in Axiom's hometown.
- Carmelo Hayes goaded Trick Williams into putting the United States title on the line.
- WWE Men's United States Championship Match: Trick Williams retained over Carmelo Hayes by pinfall.
- Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley vs Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley & Lainey Reid) by pinfall. Jade Cargill's crew and Fatal Influence attacked Ripley, Bliss, and Flair after the match.
- Solo Sikoa defeated Damian Priest by pinfall due to MFT interference. Royce Keys backed up Priest after the match, but there was some pointless tension there when Priest grabbed Keys' throat by accident (as one does, right? Weird) for a moment.
- Chelsea Green bumped into Blake Monroe backstage, who insulted Green and snubbed her handshake. Nia Jax and Lash Legend then attacked Green to get some revenge for costing Legend her match earlier.
- Cody Rhodes defeated Sami Zayn by pinfall due in part to Gunther interrupting to go after Rhodes, but Zayn concerned with helping out. Zayn stopped Gunther for a moment, but then decided to let The Ring General continue to go after Rhodes and walked off.
