WWE SMACKDOWN RESULTS: April 17, 2026
- Pat McAfee signed some kind of contract for Randy Orton, who cut a promo about how he's butthurt that Cody Rhodes didn't call him for help for WrestleMania 40 and that he gave Kevin Owens a title opportunity and such. [Note: This is the kind of last-minute storytelling that could have been the basis of this feud for a whole month, but they waited to cram it all into one promo so that they could do this random McAfee thing instead. Awful.]
- MFTs defeated The Wyatt Sicks in their eight-man street fight.
- R-Truth said that Asuka (Danhausen) cursed The New Day and turned Xavier Woods into Grayson Waller
- Jacob Fatu cut a promo on top of a cop car about how he's going to beat Drew McIntyre tomorrow.
- WWE Tag Team Championship Match: Wepa Up (Damian Priest & R-Truth) (c) defeated The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Grayson Waller)
- One last face-to-face promo between Rhea Ripley and Jade Cargill took place in the ring.
- Women's United States Championship No. 1 Contender's Match: Tiffany Stratton defeated Jordynne Grace by pinfall.
- Sami Zayn gave a gingerbread man a Helluva Kick and nearly knocked his head off, before Trick Williams took Zayn out and posed with the US title belt over him, meaning there's even more weight to my theory that Zayn is going to retain at WrestleMania by cheating to win.
- Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair vs Bayley & Lyra Valkyria didn't happen as Nia Jax and Lash Legend went on "fuck everyone up" mode.
- Royce Keys won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal by last eliminating Talla Tonga.
- The show ended with a promo between Cody Rhodes and CM Punk in a segment that I LOVED, where they hyped each other up ahead of their title bouts for WrestleMania. I absolutely suggest going back and watching it if you missed it.
