RESULT: Liv Morgan won the Royal Rumble
THOUGHTS: This certainly isn't going down as one of the most exciting, bombastic Royal Rumble matches of all time, but it did its job. I'm disappointed Bianca Belair wasn't back, and I'm not exactly thrilled that Liv Morgan versus Stephanie Vaquer (I would assume) is going to just be 3 more months worth of "wait for that match with people who are already feuding", but I'm glad for Morgan. She deserves to have won a Royal Rumble.

Retirement Match: AJ Styles vs. Gunther

RESULT: Gunther won by submission by making Styles unresponsive
THOUGHTS: Obviously, I'm disappointed we won't see more from AJ Styles, but at least this was done in an effort to boost Gunther even more, and the match was good.

Singles Match for the Undisputed WWE Championship: Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Sami Zayn

RESULT: Drew McIntyre retained by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Solid match. I have no idea what they're doing for WrestleMania, but I figured there was no chance Sami Zayn would win. At least he put up a good fight and was a good contender in a spot where the fans could get behind him a lot.

THOUGHTS: Ugh. I don't want to see Roman against Cody again. Zero imagination from this company. If they go in that direction, it proves they are choosing to take the easiest repeat route to what they think is printed money instead of actually being creative and doing something different. Major mistake if they do Reigns vs. Rhodes for a third time, or Reigns vs. McIntyre, or Reigns vs. CM Punk for the second year in a row for that matter. I just don't see the point.
