The WWE United States Championship has changed hands as Bobby Lashley defeated Theory to win the title at Money in the Bank on July 2, 2022.
My immediate reaction: If they're doing Theory against John Cena at SummerSlam, the United States title couldn't really be on the line and a non-title match would have been lame. This is probably the right decision in the long run, even though I liked Theory as champion and I hope this isn't the end of his push.
