Saturday Smack Talk: 4/30/11

Posted by Anthony Mango - Saturday, April 30, 2011
What's gone on this past week in wrestling? Awesome Kong's officially going to be using the ring name of Kharma. This week, we saw the WWE Draft happen. Check here for my coverage.  I'm not a fan of R-Truth, but I did enjoy that promo he gave on Raw. Speculation that CM Punk may leave the company and take some time off? I certainly hope not. Even if he does, I doubt he'd go to TNA. Michelle McCool is taking time off with Undertaker....

Rima Fakih Eliminated from WWE Tough Enough Episode 4

Posted by Anthony Mango - Monday, April 25, 2011
The fourth episode of Tough Enough spells the end for Rima Fakih. I see absolutely no reason why they shouldn't have cut Rima. They said it all in the episode - she may have the lust for it, but she didn't seem to have the athleticism. Next week, I'm definitely expecting Eric to be the one eliminated. WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON RIMA'S ELIMINATION?LEAVE YOUR COMMENTS BEL...

Saturday Smack Talk: 4/23/11

Posted by Anthony Mango - Saturday, April 23, 2011
What's gone on this past week in wrestling? Matt Hardy claimed in a YouTube video that Jeff may be retiring soon. Jeff's wife then negated that statement. Mick Foley wants to show up on episode of Raw that lines up with the Rock's birthday. I'd love to see this, but I doubt it will happen. It looks like Road Warrior Animal may be one of the pros of the next season of NXT. Monday night is the WWE Draft! Check here for my predictions. I'll...

Michelle & Mickael Eliminated from WWE Tough Enough Episode 3

Posted by Anthony Mango - Monday, April 18, 2011
The third episode of Tough Enough passes by us and this time, there are TWO eliminations. Say goodbye to Michelle Deighton and Mickael Zaki. To recap the highlights of tonight's episode, Michelle continued to perform at the same level as previously shown and eventually, it dawned upon her that she's just not going to make it, especially when she factors in the time she'd be spending away from her daughter, so she decided to quit. Luke...

It appears as though it's time for one of my favorite WWE events of the year (even though it always leaves me furious) - the WWE Draft! I wasn't expecting it to come this early, especially on a standard show rather than a 3-hour special, but I guess with the retiring of Edge, they're scrapped and need to bump it up. I'll be doing both my predictions and the results/review on this blog entry, so keep checking back for updates! Primary...

TNA Lockdown 2011 Results, Review, Predictions

Posted by Anthony Mango - Sunday, April 17, 2011
Fan of cage matches? You'll like tonight's ppv. TNA Lockdown - where every match is a cage match. You might be surprised to hear me say this, but I'm actually kind of a fan of this ppv concept. It doesn't really beat the stipulation into the ground as much as WWE would more than likely do given the same circumstances. Sure, the matches might come out horrible tonight, but I doubt it will be as a result of an overabundance of cage action....

Saturday Smack Talk: 4/16/11

Posted by Anthony Mango - Saturday, April 16, 2011
What's gone on this past week in wrestling? Of course, the biggest story of the week is Edge's retirement. You can read all about that here. Anyone else catch that quick segment on Raw hyping up Awesome Kong's debut (or whatever they'll end up calling her)? If they chose the idea of her holding a blonde doll as a reference to King Kong, then much applause. If that's just a coincidence, then they got lucky as hell. Speaking of divas, one...

Matt Eliminated from WWE Tough Enough Episode 2

Posted by Anthony Mango - Tuesday, April 12, 2011
The second episode of Tough Enough is in the can and the elimination was a shocker, at least to me, with MATT CAPICCIONI being excused from the competition. I fully expected Michelle or Eric to be knocked off this week, but once they showed that those two were improving while Ryan (aka "Skidmark") was getting under their skin, I figured it was simple: Rima would be placed in the bottom three as punishment for showing up late, Matt might...

Adam Copeland / Edge Retires from WWE

Posted by Anthony Mango - Monday, April 11, 2011
On tonight's Monday Night Raw, Adam "Edge" Copeland announced his retirement from WWE. This is being treated not as a storyline, but as legitimate. EXCERPT FROM WWE.COM: The Rated-R Superstar had been suffering numbness and uncontrollable trembling in his arms and hands. This is not the first time Edge has experienced these symptoms of nueropraxia. An MRI in Atlanta last Monday was sent to Dr. Joseph Maroon, a renowned neurosurgeon and...

Saturday Smack Talk: 4/9/11

What's gone on this past week in wrestling? CM Punk says he isn't a fan of tag team wrestling because it requires him to rely on someone else instead of just being his own boss out there. I'm sure this helps his standing with Vince, since Vince doesn't seem to like tag team wrestling at all either lol Ultimate Warrior is writing a book. I assume it will be a variation of the Necronomicon, but even less decipherable. WWE has decided to...

WWE Extreme Rules 2011 Predictions of Results

Posted by Anthony Mango - Friday, April 8, 2011
Click here for Extreme Rules results and my review Coming off the heels of WrestleMania, the WWE gets EXTREME. It's time for the Extreme Rules 2011 PPV. I wouldn't be surprised if WWE took it a little lax on the spots considering Edge's retirement from injuries, but you know there's going to be at least one good hardcore thing that will happen, so that's something to look forward to. But really, they're all over the place with this ppv....

WWE Tough Enough First Impressions & Elimination

Posted by Anthony Mango - Tuesday, April 5, 2011
The first episode of the new season of Tough Enough was tonight and, like I do with WWE NXT, I figured I'd do my coverage. There's nothing dramatically different between this season and the previous incarnations of the show. It's very much in the same vain. Some nuances have changed, such as having people that are slightly better qualified to be in the ring than those who have literally zero experience, but it's essentially the same show....

WWE WrestleMania XXVII Results & Review

Posted by Anthony Mango - Saturday, April 2, 2011
For my predictions, click here It's that time of the year - WRESTLEMANIA! First up is Keri Hilson singing America the Beautiful. I don't know anything about the girl, but she does a good job. Oh my God, did the announcer just say "la la la la la pie eating" with an incredibly dorky inflection? Hahaha. Out comes the Rock, where he spends 5 minutes getting to the ring. It definitely feels like WrestleMania. The Rock promises that this...
