Kaval Released from WWE

Posted by Anthony Mango - Thursday, December 23, 2010
Apparently, the WWE has given the "future endeavor" treatment to Kaval, and supposedly, it was more of a mutual thing - they did the usual excuse of "we don't have anything for you" and he, I assumed, went "alright then, might as well let me go". This sucks, and it confuses me. If they never had any plans for him, then why give him the NXT win? Why not give that to McGillicutty or Riley? Also...why don't they have anything for this guy?...

WWE Royal Rumble 2011 Predictions

Posted by Anthony Mango - Monday, December 20, 2010
Results here The Road to WrestleMania is about to begin with the 2011 Royal Rumble! This is my favorite pay-per-view of the year, so I tend to go to the extreme with my predictions and throw as much detail out there as possible. Much of the detail can be found on my Royal Rumble Statistics page. WWE Championship: The Miz (c) vs. Randy Orton Well, I was expecting Morrison to get his title shot here, especially because the Royal Rumble...

WWE TLC 2010 Results/Review

Posted by Anthony Mango - Sunday, December 19, 2010
For my predictions, click here On paper, the card looks pretty good, but when you have a pay-per-view so heavily dependent on multiple variations of the same basic gimmick match, there's always the risk that none of them are allowed their full potential, for fear of upstaging one-another. Hopefully, that doesn't happen. Anyway, it's time for the WWE TLC ppv - way too many three-letter abbreviations there. Opening the show is a promo set...

WWE 2010 Slammy Awards Results/Review

Posted by Anthony Mango - Saturday, December 11, 2010
I've always been a fan of the Slammy Awards, even though I tend to disagree with the nominees and winners on a regular basis (but hey...same applies to the Academy Awards). To counteract this, I decided to create my own awards section, which you can find here. But still, the Slammy Awards are here, so it's time to list, predict, and then review. *Note: It looks like they're changing up a bunch of the nominees. God knows what they're doing,...

Best and Worst of 2010 Awards

Posted by Anthony Mango - Friday, December 10, 2010
Many sites do their own version of the Slammy Awards with slightly different categories and of course, free range to choose whatever, instead of limiting themselves to what could create a good storyline. I figured I'd do the same. Note, I'm only using the WWE in this list, not TNA, as since I don't regularly watch Impact, I wouldn't be able to really judge things on a grand scope. When you're commenting your choices, you can choose to include...

NXT Season 4 First Impressions

Posted by Anthony Mango - Tuesday, December 7, 2010
Well here we are, the next season of NXT: number FOUR. First impressions are important, so let's take a look at what we were shown at the start of this new competition. They've replaced Michael Cole with Todd Grisham, who came off considerably bitter about the situation and kind of pathetic. They've also gotten rid of the jokes, which is a shame as I loved that the past season. But the more important issue here is the set of rookies,...

TNA Final Resolution 2010 Results & Review

Posted by Anthony Mango - Sunday, December 5, 2010
It's time for Final Resolution. BLIND PREDICTIONS: Jeff Hardy needs to retain if they want Immortal to be a success. Nobody buys into a dominant faction if their heel champ drops the belt early on in his reign. The Motor City Machine Guns will retain their tag titles. Styles could drop the title to Williams, but I don't know, I'm not sold on that. Robbie E should retain his title. Samoa Joe should defeat Jeff Jarrett. Abyss could lose...

WWE Releases MVP!

Posted by Anthony Mango - Thursday, December 2, 2010
It appears as though the WWE has given the old "future endeavors" to Alvin Burke, aka Hassan Hamin Assad, aka Montel Vontavius Porter, aka MVP. Not a big fan of releasing him. I think MVP still had a lot to offer to the midcard of the WWE. Now, THIS is someone that TNA definitely should pick up. That being said, I can't really claim to be incredibly surprised. He's been airing his frustrations on Twitter the past few weeks and indicating...

Kaitlyn Wins NXT Season 3

Posted by Anthony Mango - Tuesday, November 30, 2010
To an extent, I'm really surprised. To another extent, I'm not surprised in the least. From day one, Naomi's positioned herself as the best athlete in the bunch, Kaitlyn was the one with the storyline, and AJ was the overall best (having both character and athleticism). I figured Naomi would win, giving her a divas title shot either against Natalya after a heel turn or against whatever heel takes the championship from Natalya down the...

WWE TLC 2010 Predictions

Posted by Anthony Mango - Thursday, November 25, 2010
For results and my review, click here For the record, I'm totally against the idea of the TLC pay-per-view concept. They've only done it once before, but I think it cheapens the gimmick and it was done very poorly the first time. Ladder matches are cool. Tables matches are generally stupid and best served as something for the undercard of the Extreme Rules ppv. But the worst of the bunch is the whole "chairs match" shit. That was just...
