COUNTDOWN:

WWE Women's Tag Team Championship Match: Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill (c) vs. Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell

RESULT: Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill retained by pinfall. Belair pinned LeRae.
THOUGHTS: After spending 90 minutes wasting my time with video packages and all, I was working on other stuff while this match was going on and only paid half attention to it, if I'm being honest. What I saw was fine. Belair took the heat with her "injured" leg. Jade stepped in for a bit. I enjoyed their tag team maneuver they used for the finish.

MAIN CARD:

Singles Match for the Women's World Championship: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Liv Morgan

RESULT: Liv Morgan defeated Becky Lynch by pinfall to win the title!
THOUGHTS: I'm a fan of the title change, as well as the story they're pushing that will eventually turn into Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan being in cahoots.

Triple Threat Match for the Intercontinental Championship: Sami Zayn (c) vs. Bronson Reed vs. Chad Gable

RESULT: Sami Zayn retained by pinfall on Bronson Reed.
THOUGHTS: Solid match. Otis taking out Gable by accident furthers that story. Zayn gets a win over Reed, which he's struggled with. Gable doesn't take the fall, allowing him another chance to possibly challenge again. I'm down for it.

Queen of the Ring Tournament Finals: Lyra Valkyria vs. Nia Jax

RESULT: Nia Jax won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Queen Nia Jax. You know, I'm not the biggest fan of it, but I don't hate it, either. I just don't think this is going to be worth waiting 2 months to see her against Bayley at SummerSlam and try to act like that's a big enough deal.

King of the Ring Tournament Finals: Gunther vs. Randy Orton

RESULT: Gunther won by pinfall (even though Orton's shoulders were way up)
THOUGHTS: Fine, but underwhelming match, with a terrible ending. That pinfall was so bad.

Singles Match for the Undisputed WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Logan Paul

RESULT: Cody Rhodes retained the title by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: I thought this would be a great match, but I was underwhelmed. Don't get me wrong, it was fine, but I definitely think it could have been much better.

WHO DO YOU THINK WILL WIN? LEAVE YOUR COMMENTS BELOW!

WWE King and Queen of the Ring will take place on May 25, 2024 at the Jeddah Superdome in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Follow along here for spoilers and information on the event's card, lineup of matches and news regarding the pay-per-view.

The following are my predictions for the 2024 WWE King and Queen of the Ring PPV. Check back for King and Queen of the Ring 2024 results and review coverage here when the time comes.

WWE King and Queen of the Ring 2024 Spoilers

Singles Match for the Women's World Championship: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Liv Morgan

I know there are a ton of people out there begging for Liv Morgan to win this title. To be honest, I see a lot of their arguments (when they aren't just "I'm a stan for her.") But I don't think that's going to happen.

Morgan is still teetering on a heel turn. Unless that trigger is pulled before this, I think she's going to have to lose this to really push her over the edge.

PREDICTION: Becky Lynch wins.

Triple Threat Match for the Intercontinental Championship: Sami Zayn (c) vs. Bronson Reed vs. Chad Gable

Going with a Triple Threat match convinces me Zayn is going to retain here. It's just too easy to have Reed take a pinfall and then keep the Gable story going to stretch this out a little while longer. I can't imagine there being as much of a chance that Gable wins the title over Reed and that's how this continues, and I just don't think Reed's winning in any fashion.

Zayn against Gable in something like a two-out-of-three falls match or whatever at Clash at the Castle instead, or on Raw.

PREDICTION: Sami Zayn wins.

King of the Ring Tournament Finals: Gunther vs. Randy Orton

This tournament is very clearly revolving around Gunther. I'd be shocked if he wasn't in the finals, if not the most obvious winner. He's not only one of the best Superstars to bet on for win-loss record performance, but dropping the Intercontinental Championship means winning this gives him some purpose again to compensate for that.

He's easily the top pick, and until he's knocked out of the tournament, I'll be watching out for him.

Now that some of this has passed by, it seems like it'll be Gunther against Randy Orton. That's a fun final. I don't think it would have been what I would have chosen, as it kind of makes it obvious Orton isn't going to win (as he doesn't need it in any way at this point in his career), though. I would have rather seen these two just have a normal feud while Gunther fought someone else in the finals of the tournament who couldn't have as much of a storyline.

Still, I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth.

Update: The winner getting a title shot at SummerSlam for their brand's championship now has me second-guessing this, wondering if Orton will fight Rhodes at that show. It's more of a possibility now than I had thought.

PREDICTION: Gunther wins.

Queen of the Ring Tournament Finals: Lyra Valkyria vs. Nia Jax

Well, all my picks for this keep getting eliminated. We're down to Valkyria against either Bianca Belair or Nia Jax. Between the two on SmackDown, I would think Jax is going to beat Belair in order to set her up against Valkyria, rather than for the finals to be two babyfaces, especially where Bianca would very clearly be cheered over Lyra.

So I guess that means Nia Jax wins? I didn't think that was going to be the case whatsoever.

Update: The winner getting a title shot at SummerSlam for their brand's championship now has me second-guessing this, too. Nia fighting Bayley at SummerSlam sounds weird to broadcast several months in advance. Lyra fighting anyone at SummerSlam sounds weird, too, as she's just not that big of a deal. But maybe they REALLY believe in her and they think that she'll be able to be built up enough in the next 2 months to make her a star. I don't know. This seems weird that they didn't just say they'll get opportunities at Clash at the Castle or at least Money in the Bank first.

PREDICTION: Nia Jax wins.

Singles Match for the Undisputed WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Logan Paul

Update: This isn't for both belts. It's just for the WWE Championship. That means it loses some of its interest, but it's at least clarified ahead of time. Cody definitely wins and it's just as simple as that.

So...is this for both belts? Are neither of them on the line? Is it just one of them? And if so, which one?

Strangely, WWE hasn't been transparent about this. Their promo on SmackDown would suggest both belts are up for grabs, since Cody mentioned winning the United States Championship would make him a Grand Slam Champion, and Nick Aldis had introduced Logan Paul as Cody's next challenger. But all the wording on the promotional material since then has been vague, as if they don't want to fully commit to it.

The title defense situation changes this dynamic considerably. I'd assume under most scenarios that Rhodes would be victorious. At the very least, if his belt is on the line, he's not going to lose it to Paul. That means either he retains, he wins a no-title match (like what they used to do at Survivor Series), or he captures the US title. I can't imagine Paul pins Rhodes under any circumstances other than Rhodes doesn't have his title on the line and there's interference to set up his Clash at the Castle challenger.

But I could certainly see a scenario where The Bloodline interferes and causes this to be a no-contest or a disqualification, so no titles change hands. It'd be a lame way to do it, but I don't know why they're booking this match to happen now in the first place. It felt like a more obvious solution (in my mind, at least) would've been for Paul to drop the United States title and fight Cody at a later event like SummerSlam.

PREDICTION: Cody Rhodes wins.

WWE Crown Jewel 2021 Results

At the start of the kickoff, they announced that Bobby Lashley vs. Goldberg is now not No Holds Barred, but Falls Count Anywhere. Also, Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar has become No Disqualification. Then, a few minutes later, they backtracked on this and said the Universal Championship match was no longer No Disqualification. What in the hell is going on in WWE that they can't even communicate for something like this? Or is this someone's misguided and weird attempt at a strategy to get people talking? If that's the case, they're a moron, because all they've done is gotten people to talk on Twitter about how stupid and uncoordinated WWE looks.

Kickoff Match: The Usos vs. The Hurt Business

RESULT: The Usos won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Solid enough tag team match, as expected.

Hell in a Cell Match: Edge vs. Seth Rollins

RESULT: Edge won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: While Hell in a Cell matches aren't what they used to be, we've had 50 of them. We're well past the era where we can realistically compare them to the way they originally were. As sad as that is, that's the reality. So if you get past that, don't compare this to Mick Foley against Undertaker and have that taint your perception, and you judge this for the match it was, this was a pretty damn good opener. I enjoyed it from start to finish. Thumbs up.

Mansoor vs. Mustafa Ali

RESULT: Mansoor won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Solid enough filler match.

After the match, Ali attacked Mansoor. Then, someone came out completely wrapped up to conceal their identity. It turned out to be Tarek Hamdi, who won the silver medal in the Men's Karate Kumite 75kg at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. He took out Ali with a kick.

Natalya and Titus O'Neil presented four women with title belts as one of those breast cancer awareness promos.

Raw Tag Team Championship Match: RK-Bro (c) vs. AJ Styles and Omos

RESULT: Randy Orton and Matt Riddle retained by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Riddle came out for his entrance on a camel. That was more interesting than anything in the match itself, which was fine, but just a rematch of what we've seen before.

Backstage, Kevin Patrick interviewed Becky Lynch about the upcoming triple threat. We're back to the whole "Becky says she knows how a triple 'tret' works" because I guess they thought that was funny enough to do it three times now.

Queen's Crown Tournament Final: Doudrop vs. Zelina Vega

RESULT: Zelina Vega won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Dead crowd for a blah match. I'm glad Vega won, though.

Falls Count Anywhere Match: Bobby Lashley vs. Goldberg

RESULT: Goldberg won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: This was entertaining and good enough for all things considered. Admittedly, for a feud revolving around Goldberg saying he'll flat out KILL Lashley, the finish was underwhelming, but if they hadn't done that, it would have been totally serviceable.

King of the Ring Tournament Final: Finn Balor vs. Xavier Woods

RESULT: Xavier Woods won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!

WWE Championship Match: Big E (c) vs. Drew McIntyre

RESULT: Big E retained by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Solid, but nothing to talk about.

SmackDown Women's Championship Triple Threat Match: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Bianca Belair vs. Sasha Banks

RESULT: Becky Lynch retained by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Another very good match.

Universal Championship Match: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Brock Lesnar

RESULT: Roman Reigns retained by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Better match than I thought it would be. But I don't want to see this again at WrestleMania next year. Please don't.

WWE Crown Jewel 2021 Spoilers

Universal Championship Match: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Brock Lesnar

WWE has specified that even if Roman Reigns loses the Universal Championship at Extreme Rules to Finn Balor, this match will still go on as a non-title match. However, The Tribal Chief is not only not losing to Balor, he's also not going to lose this match to The Beast Incarnate. Even if it were non-title, I don't think we'd see Lesnar come out on top unless they plan on having this be a no-contest or a disqualification or something lame like that.

PREDICTION: Roman Reigns wins.

SmackDown Women's Championship Triple Threat Match: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Bianca Belair vs. Sasha Banks

My guess is, when negotiating with FOX, WWE basically told them in so many words, without saying it directly, "Look. We need to prioritize Raw and USA since that's where we have Peacock and all. But we'll let you keep Roman Reigns and we'll give you Charlotte Flair. Good enough?" Then, the game plan isn't naturally to take the title off her and balance that out with the SmackDown Women's Championship, but to just have Becky and Charlotte do the same belt swap thing they did last year with The Street Profits and The New Day. That's lame and spells out how little foresight goes into some of this stuff.

PREDICTION: Becky Lynch retains.

Raw Tag Team Championship Match: RK-Bro (c) vs. AJ Styles and Omos

Generic follow-up scenario. There isn't anything more to it than that, so there isn't anything more to talk about. This is filler. Some great talent, but it's still a filler rematch.

PREDICTION: Randy Orton and Riddle retain.

WWE Championship Match: Big E (c) vs. Drew McIntyre

With Drew McIntyre going to SmackDown and Big E only recently winning the title, we all know how this is going to play out. Big E is going to retain the title after a hard-fought match. McIntyre will shake hands with him afterward. I'm looking forward to it.

PREDICTION: Big E will retain.

No Holds Barred Match: Bobby Lashley vs. Goldberg

There is absolutely no way in hell they have Goldberg lose this match. No belts are on the line. He's fighting on the honor of his kid, who he always talks about wanting to be a superhero for. Blah blah blah. This is 100% a means to give Goldberg back his win after SummerSlam. Thankfully, it's No Holds Barred, which should make it easier to upgrade the quality instead of keeping it a standard match.

PREDICTION: Goldberg wins.

Hell in a Cell Match: Edge vs. Seth Rollins

Think about how much cooler this would be if we hadn't seen Hell in a Cell already this year and that we didn't get it every year like clockwork. Since they traded wins before (Edge, then Rollins), I think Edge wins this to give him the overall victory for the feud and to carry his momentum into his next feud, whoever that may be with. Rollins can always challenge Big E for the WWE Championship toward the end of the year or the start of 2022 by just cutting a promo.

PREDICTION: Edge wins.

King of the Ring Tournament Final Match: Finn Balor vs. Xavier Woods

Going with a babyface vs. babyface thing is interesting. They know how much this means to Xavier Woods, so in typical form, I'm thinking WWE probably disappoints and purposely has him lose. The Prince and Demon King thing may be what they're going for, more than to give the crown to the guy who's campaigned for it for years.

If I'm booking it, Woods wins. He deserves something like this. But if I'm saying my prediction, I think they give it to Balor.

PREDICTION: My hope is Woods. My prediction is Balor.

Queen's Crown Tournament Final Match: Zelina Vega vs. Doudrop

I was rooting for Natalya or Shayna Baszler to go with the whole Queen of Harts and Queen of Spades thing. I never would have imagined from the start of this that it would end up being Vega against Doudrop. Not only do I just not picture Doudrop doing this gimmick and Vega actually getting this push (based on how they've NEVER bothered to push her for more than like three weeks at a time), it's just baffling they didn't go with one of the others. It makes more sense for Vega to win, so that probably means Doudrop does.

PREDICTION: Doudrop wins if WWE is being WWE. But if WWE goes with logic, Vega wins.

Mansoor vs. Mustafa Ali

I'm not big on breaking up the tag team, but I knew they wouldn't be able to resist doing Mansoor against Mustafa Ali here. I saw this coming. Mansoor definitely wins, as this is Saudi Arabia.

PREDICTION: Mansoor wins.

Kickoff Match: The Usos vs. The Hurt Business

Well this is certainly random. Not only are they on opposite brands, they're both heel teams who have had zero interaction with each other lately. WWE didn't even know how to pitch it on the website, as it literally just says that they're having the match. With that being said, I like both teams, so the match should be good, even if it's a completely out of nowhere situation that won't amount to anything.

PREDICTION: The Usos win.

I basically have three groups in my mind, when looking at this list after the bracket:

Unlikely:
- Apollo Crews (fed to Andrade)
- Buddy Murphy (I can't see him moving on and facing any of the 4 options on the opposite side of his section of the bracket)
- Cesaro (if he makes it past Joe, he'll still have a hard time against Ricochet and then Alexander)
- Chad Gable

- Ali (He'll lose to Murphy in the first round if KO beats Elias)
- Baron Corbin (if he beats Miz and beats Alexander, he has a good shot at winning, unless Andrade is the star on the right, as then, Ricochet would have to beat Corbin in the semifinals)
- Cedric Alexander (I think he'll lose to Joe or McIntyre in round 3)
- Ricochet

Possible Winners:

- Andrade
- Drew McIntyre
- Kevin Owens
- Samoa Joe

I think the finals will be either McIntyre/Owens, Joe/Owens or maybe Joe/Andrade if they decide to go with a babyface turn for Joe.

Update #1: Kevin Owens lost, so that changes my mind about how that side of the bracket will turn out. I guess Ali beats Buddy Murphy and then can either beat or lose to Elias.

Update #2: Well, now that Drew McIntyre is gone, I'm left thinking Andrade or Ricochet will win. Between those two, I'm leaning more toward Andrade.

Update #3: Now, it's either Ricochet, Baron Corbin or Samoa Joe on the Raw side and either Elias or Chad Gable on the SmackDown half. I think one side dictates the other. If it's Corbin or Joe, then Gable beats Elias. If Ricochet wins, Elias takes the right side of the bracket. My main picks are all being eliminated outside of Samoa Joe from the start and Ricochet in my second round of picks, but I'm starting to think they might really be into Gable.

Update #4: So it's Baron Corbin in the final against either Elias or Chad Gable. I think that means by default, it has to be Gable, and now, I'm leaning more toward Gable winning the whole thing.

Update #5: Elias was replaced by Shane McMahon, who lost to Chad Gable. Then, they decided to just toss up a graphic saying the finals would take place on Raw, rather than Clash of Champions. If so, that's a big disappointment that they cut this match out of everything and didn't plan ahead of time how many matches would be on the pay-per-view. It isn't as though it's hard to count the titles in advance. This makes me think there's more of a plan to give Corbin the win than Gable because it won't matter as much on Raw and it won't be as disappointing for the heel to win if it's just a match on television.

WWE King of the Ring 2016 Results

WWE's King of the Ring pay-per-view may be making a return at some point on the WWE Network this year. If it is announced, follow along here for spoilers and information on the event's card, lineup of matches and news regarding the pay-per-view.

Here are my predictions for the 2016 WWE King of the Ring PPV. Check back for King of the Ring 2016 results and review coverage here.

WWE King of the Ring 2016 Spoilers

King of the Ring Tournament

If this happens, the tournament itself is going to be the entirety or at least majority of the card, and it's impossible to predict the matches without seeing who is involved in this time frame. That being said, there are a few people I could see being given the crown. Some of those include Alberto Del Rio, Bray Wyatt, Dean Ambrose, Kevin Owens, The Miz, Neville, Rusev, Ryback and my top choice, Cesaro.

PREDICTION: Cesaro is the next King of the Ring.

The 2015 King of the Ring tournament finals will be taking place on April 28, 2015 and coming to you from the I Wireless Center in Moline, IL, taped before SmackDown. On yesterday's edition of Monday Night Raw, the first round of matches took place with Bad News Barrett, R-Truth, Sheamus and Neville moving on to the semi-finals, which will take place tonight.

The Semi-Finals Bracket of the 2015 King of the Ring Tournament

Backstage, Renee Young interviews Neville, who cuts a pretty generic babyface promo about how he was successful in NXT and he's two wins away from being King of the Ring.

[King of the Ring Semi-Finals Match]: Sheamus vs. Neville

This is a pretty even match with Neville of course being more of the speed and Sheamus being the powerhouse. Not too much to report on as far as specifics, though. Dolph Ziggler comes out to cause a distraction and it works, as Neville blasts Sheamus with a kick to the head. He goes to the top rope and hits the Red Arrow for the win.

WINNER: Neville via pinfall

After the match, Dolph gets back on the mic and says he's there to cash in on the stipulation of the Kiss Me Arse match that they had at Extreme Rules. He charges the ring, but unfortunately, Sheamus is able to escape after the referees come out to stop the brawl.

Backstage, Renee Young interviews Bad News Barrett, who says gravity forgot Neville and after tonight, nobody will remember him. People will only remember that Barrett is King of the Ring.

Also backstage, Byron Saxton interviews R-Truth. He talks about how facing your fears head-on is dumb, so he won't do that for spiders. He'll win King of the Ring and make declarations about banning spiders.

[King of the Ring Semi-Finals Match]: R-Truth vs. Bad News Barrett

The commentary team is in the same boat as I am, talking about the funny spider things but pretty much ruling R-Truth out completely as far as winning. Truth hits some of his signature maneuvers and almost gets a pinfall, but Barrett is able to get his foot on the ropes to break the count. Barrett then hits the Bullhammer for the win.

WINNER: Bad News Barrett via pinfall

WWE runs a video package in memory of Verne Gagne, who passed away yesterday.

Backstage, Renee Young interviews Dolph Ziggler about his feud with Sheamus.

Also backstage (seeing a trend here?) Byron Saxton interviews Barrett about how he's going to have to fight the guy who beat him at Extreme Rules.

[King of the Ring Finals Match]: Neville vs. Bad News Barrett

Barrett grounds Neville, but Neville's able to hit some high-flying moves here and there. Neville starts quickening the pace of the match until Barrett hits Winds of Change for a two-count. Barrett then hits Wasteland for a two-count. Two former finishers come up short, but he's still got a Bullhammer, which he's setting up for. He misses and Neville tries to roll him up, but it's just a two-count. He follows this up with a kick and positions Barrett for the Red Arrow. Barrett moves out of the way and blasts him with the Bullhammer!

WINNER: Bad News Barrett via pinfall.


Jerry "The King" Lawler interviews Barrett for his coronation. Barrett says he'll be ruling his kingdom with an iron fist and a Bullhammer...BOOM. He gets pyro along with his throne and garb.
