The following are my predictions for the 2024 AEW Double or Nothing PPV. Check back for Double or Nothing 2024 results and review coverage here when the time comes.

Singles Match for the AEW TBS Championship: Willow Nightingale (c) vs Mercedes Moné
Mercedes isn't going to lose her first match after all this hubbub. Putting her against Willow is no mistake, nor do I think it is a coincidence she's gone straight to the TBS title instead of the women's world title.
That screams to me that Tony Khan doesn't want to take the top belt off Toni Storm, but wants to put one on Mercedes asap. The story with Willow is already there, and even though she'll be dropping it super fast, she's in NXT Bayley territory where fans will be willing to support her going forward despite her loss.
Plus, I think there's a solid chance Kris Statlander turns heel and costs Willow, resulting in a feud between the two afterward while Mercedes goes off against others.
PREDICTION: Mercedes Mone wins the title.
Singles Match for the AEW International Championship: Roderick Strong (c) vs Will Ospreay
Is it as simple as "the momentum has died out for The Undisputed Kingdom, Roderick Strong's act isn't as funny to most people anymore, and Will Ospreay is the hot ticket, so let's put the title on him"? Or is this when Ospreay will finally come up short from his winning streak?
I'm inclined to believe the former. Ospreay's been treated to be too big of a deal. Unless the game plan is for him to not win this so that he can beat Kazuchika Okada for the Continental Championship or Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Championship, my guess is Tony Khan is reshuffling some title-holders to his new top dog talent, and Strong is no longer the shiny new toy.
PREDICTION: Will Ospreay wins the title.
Singles Match for the AEW Women's World Championship: "Timeless" Toni Storm (c) vs Serena Deeb
Rinse and repeat my usual "Toni Storm isn't dropping the title until probably Jamie Hayter is back at All In, but especially not here against Opponent X." Deeb doesn't have anywhere near the momentum to make any sense as the next champion. She's just a challenger—and, from my perspective, not even a properly enough built challenger worthy of Double or Nothing, to be honest. She seems more suited to a special episode of Dynamite. But I guess there just aren't any other women higher on the totem pole and, at the end of the day, most AEW fans just want to see a match for the sake of a match, and they'll enjoy this, so most people win regardless.
PREDICTION: Toni Storm retains the title.
Singles Match for the AEW World Championship: Swerve Strickland (c) vs Christian Cage
Anyone complaining that Cody Rhodes is fighting AJ Styles and that that "isn't big enough" for Backlash has to look at this and say the same thing. Christian isn't a threat to the title. He's awesome (as is Styles), but both are just filling the role of "guy to fight the new champion because the bout looks good on paper and will deliver in the ring."
And like I said with Rhodes and Styles, that's perfectly fine. Not every match is the potential run-ender.
PREDICTION: Swerve Strickland retains the title.
Anarchy in the Arena: The Elite (Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson,
Kazuchika Okada and Jack Perry) vs. Team AEW Bryan Danielson, Cash Wheeler, Dax Harwood and Eddie Kingston
I can't imagine this angle with The Elite ends here. It's just too fast. Giving them the win stretches it out longer and keeps the momentum on their side as AEW builds to the next logical step, which would be Blood & Guts, likely with some other people in the mix instead of those 4 making up Team AEW.
PREDICTION: The Elite wins.
Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match for the AEW TNT Championship: Adam Copeland (c) vs. Malakai Black
This sounds cool. It could be a mess, but I'm down to see what they have planned. I'd be okay with either scenario, but I'm rooting for Copeland. Black as champion feels like it might not be as fun for the overall future feuds in comparison to Edge (yeah, I'll always call him that) working with fresh talent.
PREDICTION: Adam Copeland wins.
IWGP World Heavyweight Championship Eliminator Match: Jon Moxley (c) vs. Konosuke Takeshita
We know Moxley is defending the title against Evil at Dominion. Takeshita winning this grants him a title shot in the future. Losing it just means Moxley fights Evil and we don't know what happens at Forbidden Door either way. But if the game plan is to have Takeshita have a title match in the future, maybe even at Forbidden Door, then I could imagine he beats Moxley here to put that out there, beats Evil, and we get Takeshita and Moxley at FB. But it could also mean someone else is lined up for FB, like a rematch against Tetsuya Naito, and Takeshita's challenge here just gets shot down.
PREDICTION: Konosuke Takeshita wins. I'm only 50/50 on that, though.
Orange Cassidy vs. Trent Beretta
I can't imagine this feud goes on super long past this point. It very well could, but I think it's more of a case that Orange Cassidy just wins this and any lingering storyline is mostly playing out in the background. This doesn't strike me as the type of story where Trent wins and they build to some bigger match at another pay-per-view, especially with Forbidden Door being next. Maybe it's a tag team match at that show to incorporate some New Japan talent and get guys like Rocky Romero there, and Trent comes out victorious, but I''ll keep it simple.
PREDICTION: Orange Cassidy wins.
Three-Way FTW Rules match for the FTW Championship: Chris Jericho (c) vs. Hook vs. Katsuyori Shibata
Is Jericho going up against Hook, Katsuyori Shibata, or Bryan Keith? We won't know until Dynamite. Any of those scenarios still leads me back to Jericho retaining, though. It just feels too soon for Hook to get his win back over Jericho, Shibata's already had his match and I can't imagine Keith winning this FTW Championship right now.
Update: So with this being a three-way match, I even more so assume Jericho is retaining and that the alliance between Shibata and Hook will be the reason why, as that will lead to some confusion that Jericho will capitalize on.
PREDICTION: Chris Jericho wins.
Trios Match for the Unified AEW World Trios Championship: The Bang Bang Gang (c) vs. Death Triangle
These titles are definitely not changing hands right after doing a unification. No way. But Death Triangle are great challengers to make people think that they're in jeopardy. Good call. The match should be fun, too.
PREDICTION: Jay White and The Gunns retain.
