FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN RESULTS: AUGUST 7, 2026
- Promo: Cody Rhodes called out Randy Orton, who didn't show. CM Punk came out. Rhodes asked if Punk knew what Randy would do at SummerSlam. Punk said he didn't, offered to "Two Man Power Trip" a beatdown together on Orton, and told Rhodes that any time he wants to settle their unfinished business to just say when. Kevin Owens then interrupted as Rhodes was leaving so he could talk trash with Punk, leading to Owens pushing Punk and the two of them needing to be separated by officials.
- Singles Match for the WWE Men's United States Championship: Baron Corbin (c) retained over Trick Williams by pinfall, cheating again to get the pinfall
- Backstage: Sami Zayn complained to Nick Aldis about SummerSlam. Kevin Owens overheard, so Aldis left the two of them to talk, with Owens saying he wants his title shot on August 21st in Toronto. Zayn and Owens chatted about the situation, with Owens saying he admits Zayn got screwed over, but Zayn would have done the same if the shoe was on the other foot. They left things as basically "we're friends, but we're not going to let that get in the way of both of us going for the title" effectively.
- Backstage: Baron Corbin was interviewed by Cathy Kelley, who referred to him as having two upsets over Trick Williams. Corbin complained that he's not the underdog and was then attacked by Carmelo Hayes, who told him that they have a title match set for next week.
- Fatal Influence quickly interrupted what was going to be a toast between Chelsea Green and Tiffany Stratton about positive female friendships. It was agreed that if they got a tag team title match right now, Jacy Jayne would get a Women's US Championship shot next week. Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley & Lainey Reid) retained the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship titles over Chelsea Green and Tiffany Stratton by pinfall. After the match, The Irresistible Forces attacked Green and Stratton.
- Backstage Interview: Wepa Up and War Raiders were fired up over how their tag team title match last week was interrupted by the MFTs. R-Truth talked to Nick Aldis about defending their titles against both teams next week. Damian Priest was mad at R-Truth and Nick Aldis for not having the AAA tag team titles also on the line.
- Promo: Randy Orton called Cody Rhodes arrogant, explaining that losing to Cody at WrestleMania unlocked his "worst version," and vowing to ensure Cody never holds the WWE title again. Cody fires back that he no longer has to play the good guy and asks, "Who kills Randy Orton?"
- Backstage: Sami Zayn was venting more to Johnny Gargano about the title situation. Candice LeRae pointed out that CM Punk was overhearing Zayn complain. Punk told him he has to get into the back of the line. Zayn then yelled at Gargano for letting this happen and not doing anything about it.
- Promo: Nikki Bella had a vignette about how Paige lost the tag team titles and their six-woman tag, which is why she turned on her at SummerSlam.
- Vignette: Shinsuke Nakamura is back, and he's not alone. He's coming for the MFTs.
- Charlotte Flair defeated Jade Cargill by pinfall with some help from Alexa Bliss and a debut on the blue brand for Tatum Paxley!
