FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN RESULTS: JULY 24, 2026
- Contract Signing: Gunther and Nick Aldis were moderated by Adam Pearce, leading to an inevitable fight where Gunther powerbombed Aldis through the table.
- Sami Zayn crashed out about the title situation, yelling at the camera, and then confronting Pearce, saying Aldis screwed over Zayn at Saturday Night's Main Event as well, pleading for Pearce to make it a Triple Threat. Pearce said there's a Fatal 4-Way tonight to determine who faces Zayn in a No. 1 contender's match at SummerSlam. Zayn complained that he has to earn his way back in while others are just given those opportunities. When told to take it or leave it, Zayn agreed, but no shenanigans or funny business.
- Brie Bella defeated Lainey Reid by pinfall. Fatal Influence went on the 3-on-1 attack after the match, but Nikki Bella returned to make the save and even the odds. Nikki then challenged Fatal Influence to a six-woman tag team match for SummerSlam.
- Finn Balor spoke about trying to scratch and claw his way back to the world title for 10 years. Gunther interrupted to tease him about it.
- Backstage, Royce Keys, Solo Sikoa, and LA Knight chatted about Keys in his Fatal 4-Way and their SummerSlam match.
- Then, Chelsea Green and Tiffany Stratton reminisced about the last time that they were in a ladder match together, playfully teasing each other that they would win the interim title. Green went off and Blake Monroe then reminded Stratton she's coming for the Women's United States Championship.
- SummerSlam Interim WWE Women's Championship Ladder Match Qualifier: Chelsea Green defeated Kiana James by pinfall
- Backstage: Damian Priest and R-Truth were confusing each other about their tag team title defense next week against War Raiders, Priest's Fatal 4-Way tonight, and hot dogs. Priest then chatted with Cody Rhodes about how Rhodes plans to win the title at SummerSlam and he'll be waiting for Priest to step up, while Priest said he and others are sick of the same few people being the faces of the brand.
- Promo: Cody Rhodes and CM Punk talked in the ring about why they need to beat each other, revolving around the idea that Rhodes convinces himself that his opponents are his enemies in order to protect his emotions, but Punk is going to "break his heart" by forcing him to fight someone he loves instead
- SummerSlam Interim WWE Women's Championship Ladder Match Qualifier: Charlotte Flair defeated Nia Jax
- Fatal 4-Way SummerSlam No. 1 Contender's Match Qualifier: Finn Balor defeated Damian Priest, Royce Keys, and Trick Williams
