WWE WrestleMania 2025 Spoilers

Singles Match for the Undisputed WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. John Cena

That heel turn saved this. Without that, a babyface vs. babyface match between these two would have been a disaster for Cody Rhodes, as some fans would have cheered him losing. Granted, that is still going to happen to a certain extent, as heel Cena is so new and exciting that we're all curious to see what he does with that gimmick.

I fully expect Rhodes to lose the title and for Cena to embark on his 17th world championship run as the top heel in the company. And you know what? Even though I was hoping we'd see Rhodes feuding with Randy Orton at WrestleMania instead, I think this is an even better option for who could dethrone The American Nightmare and still keep him looking strong. It's a heel John Cena, for crying out loud. Losing to him, especially if there are shenanigans involved, is no job.

PREDICTION: John Cena wins the title.

Singles Match for the Women's World Championship: Iyo Sky (c) vs. Bianca Belair

Honestly, I'm disappointed in WWE for this, as I think I can see through their booking philosophy.

Here's what I imagine happened. They didn't come up with a solid plan, decided on Belair against Ripley, figured that if it wasn't going to have a real feud set up or anything, that they might as well throw Sky in there because they're the top 3 women in the company as far as their perspective for in-ring work and all goes, and they're really banking on that being good enough as-is. Then, because they know that they couldn't justify Sky just being inserted into the match for no reason, they opted to have the title change hands to put Ripley back into the challenger mode.

I do not under any circumstances think Ripley is out of this match. I fully expect it to turn into a Triple Threat. It'll probably just happen in a lame way (ie, Ripley says "I gave you a match out of respect, Iyo, and I want a rematch, too.") and whines about it (WWE likes putting Ripley in a complainer spot around WrestleMania, for some reason—this is the third or fourth time she's been in a bit of a crybaby mode and they couldn't resist having her be belittled by Charlotte Flair this year again, too). Then, something will happen where Adam Pearce will just declare that Ripley's added into the match and it's a three-way.

Meanwhile, Belair dropped the tag titles, and I don't know what they're planning on doing with the Jade Cargill stuff, but it largely seems like that's a side plot that may not even be fully addressed as far as The EST of WWE is concerned.

Sky walks in as champion. Belair or Ripley walks out with the title. The match will be good, but I still would have rather seen them properly build up a singles match where Sky wasn't involved.

PREDICTION: The title changes hands, but who wins it depends on if Rhea Ripley is inserted into the match.

Singles Match for the World Heavyweight Championship: Gunther (c) vs. Jey Uso

I hate to be that guy, but I know I'm not alone here in thinking that this is not feeling like it's WrestleMania-worthy for the world title by any means. It feels just barely more important than Sami Zayn's thrown-together match against Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship last year. Both matches, I think, are ultimately mistakes that are hurting The Ring General in the long run.

There's no denying Jey Uso is popular. Hell, I like the guy a lot, too. There's a part of me that wants to see him reach the mountain top, and I fully expect him to do that here. But I just don't think this is some Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 30 situation, nor will it be recapturing the magic of KofiMania. I think that's exactly what WWE is trying to replicate, mind you, but in the most low-effort way possible, and that lack of care combined with the manufactured attempt at lightning in a bottle is going to not look great when history comes back around.

To put it another way, I think the fans will go nuts for Uso winning the title in the moment, but it might not even be the main event of Saturday, and WWE won't know what to do with Uso as champion afterward. He'll be set up for some generic feuds post-Mania against some feeder talent like Finn Balor or whatever, and by the time SummerSlam comes around (or even earlier), WWE will be happy to take the title off him. I just don't think there will be any sticking power, but I hope I'm wrong, for Uso's sake.

PREDICTION: Jey Uso wins the title.

Singles Match for the WWE Women's Championship: Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Charlotte Flair

I wonder how far back they had this plan and how annoyed they must be at how they've had to pivot. That's on WWE, though, for not thinking ahead and working out the kinks in advance. They should've known Flair would become the heel if they weren't willing to do anything to present her in a way that fans should cheer. What makes me think that they didn't want Stratton as the babyface is how hesitant they've been to let her be that babyface. Other than teaming with Trish Stratus and feuding with Nia Jax (who everyone on the roster hates in kayfabe, including heels), there's nothing for Stratton to be a "hero" character about. My guess is they want Flair to win the title since she's at 14 out of 16 title reigns, and she'll drop the belt within 3 months at most, and their thought process will be that Stratton will be better off for having had this match with Flair even despite losing.

PREDICTION: Charlotte Flair wins.

More matches will be added to this card, so keep checking back for updates to these predictions every couple days!

REMAINING OTHER PREDICTIONS (as of 3/4/2025)

  • I also think it's a mistake to do CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins for multiple reasons. First, no title or any stakes are on the line, so it ultimately doesn't matter. Second, it screams of "we didn't have anything for all of these guys to do, so we just threw Roman in there because The Rock didn't want to do Mania this year". Third, it's not even going to include Drew McIntyre, who was a lynch pin in all of this. Fourth, this isn't going to main event, so that's another year where CM Punk doesn't accomplish that goal. Fifth, Reigns isn't going to lose, so that means either Punk or Rollins comes up short just to appease that situation, and I don't think it'll serve an ultimate purpose. BUT...with that being said...these guys are so good that they're getting people invested in this regardless, and while this is in no way my preferred booking scenario, I'm sure people will eviscerate me online for saying all of those things, because ultimately, the hype around this will be palpable and people will go nuts for it, and it will be kind of awesome, so I'm still down for it, even though I think with some proper care, WWE could have had three much better stories instead of this combined thing playing out this way.
  • Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez will defend the women's tag titles against teams like Nia Jax & Candice LeRae, Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross (if they end up putting Bliss with The Wyatt Sicks), and so on. Unless Kairi Sane or Asuka returns, I guess my initial thought of Damage CTRL being in this is moot, since it can't be just Dakota Kai solo, and Iyo Sky is women's world champion. Admittedly, there's a part of me that thinks WWE might end up pairing Becky Lynch and Lyra Valkyria into this, too.
  • If Lyra Valkyria defends the Women's Intercontinental Championship on this card—which, not everyone can get on the card, mind you—the biggest match possible is against Becky Lynch, but they haven't set that up at all yet. No other match is worth putting on the card for a singles bout.
  • I'm curious about Chelsea Green's Women's United States Championship. I just cannot see them doing Green against Michin or B-Fab or Zelina Vega, but I can't see them bypassing Green entirely, either. Jade Cargill vs. Naomi in a singles match with nothing on the line feels like a waste of a spot, too, so I'm wondering if maybe this will be somehow looped around into being for this title, but they haven't hinted at that at all.
  • For the men's United States Championship, I highly doubt Shinsuke Nakamura is getting a singles match. There are so many people who are more interesting, if we're being honest. Nakamura's a placeholder. He probably drops the title to LA Knight on SmackDown, but I don't know who Knight would fight in a singles match. If I'm booking it, I'm doing a multi-man match and putting him with Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest, while Nakamura goes into the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. I don't think McIntyre vs. Priest should just be a standalone match entirely based on "Priest pinned McIntyre at Elimination Chamber. Good enough."
  • In a similar vein, I don't want to see Jacob Fatu in the United States title hunt, because I want him to face Solo Sikoa in some kind of No DQ match of sorts. Tama Tonga can sit things out on the sidelines, but what the hell is Jimmy Uso going to do?
  • With regards to the Intercontinental Championship, Bron Breakker doesn't seem to be lined up with AJ Styles anymore. It looks more like he's going to have something with Finn Balor and/or Dominik Mysterio. But what's also interesting is that Mysterio has this thing where he helped Chad Gable start his luchador journey, and that ties into the LWO, who is feuding with The New Day, along with Penta, who is feuding with Ludwig Kaiser and Pete Dunne. There are rumors Rey Fenix will be signed in time for WrestleMania, too. So is this going to be Breakker against Balor? Breakker against Mysterio? Breakker against Balor, Gable, Penta, etc? Will there be a separate match with Gable teaming with Mysterio against Penta and Fenix and/or Rey Mysterio, Dragon Lee, whatever it might be?
  • Kevin Owens vs. Randy Orton has got to be a lock. Where does that leave Sami Zayn, who isn't even involved right now with Karrion Kross anymore, while Kross is also involving himself with AJ Styles, who is more concerned with Logan Paul? My guess is Orton/Owens is a match, Styles/Paul is a match, Kross is just someone who Styles will feud with in the meantime to give him something to do while feuding with Paul, and Kross will be in the ATGMBR while Zayn.......to be honest, I'm not sure about Zayn.
  • Multi-teams for the tag titles. SmackDown has #DIY, MCMG, Street Profits, Pretty Deadly, Los Garza, and Melo Don't Miz. Maybe they narrow that down a bit and PD/LG aren't involved. Raw has War Raiders, The New Day, LWO, Creed Brothers, possibly The Judgment Day, possibly Lucha Brothers.
  • A guy like Andrade seems like he'll be lost in the shuffle and just in the ATGMBR. Maybe the same for Aleister Black, if he's signed and brought in in time, but I can also see him being held back for the Raw after WrestleMania.

This page will be altered on a regular basis to reflect changes to the show including any new matches added to the lineup, adjustments to the card, revised predictions and any other information about this event. Stay tuned for the latest updates!
