WWE Power Rankings Top 10 Superstars This Week: #482 - New Year's Knockout Week | Smark Out Moment

WWE Power Rankings Top 10 Superstars This Week: #482 - New Year's Knockout Week

Posted by Callum Wiggins Saturday, January 6, 2024

Welcome to another edition of POWER RANKINGS from Smark Out Moment! Each week, we will break down the current roster and examine who has gone up the WWE hierarchy and who has unfortunately taken a step down the ladder. Factoring in things such as wins and losses, suspensions, injuries, making a name for oneself, being humiliated, and more, who is at the top of the food chain and who needs to make up some ground next week?

Here is the key code for the rankings shorthand when referencing their position in relation to the previous week:

NR = Not included in last week's rankings at all

+ Green = the number of moves up in the rankings compared to last week

- Red = the number of moves down in the rankings compared to last week

Honorable Mentions = five superstars who just barely missed the cut

Power Ranking WWE wrestlers list roster

10. Trick Williams [NR]

An injury to Ilja Dragunov prevented him from defending his NXT Championship at New Year's Evil against Trick Williams. Instead, Williams successfully defended his number one contendership against Grayson Waller.

9. Santos Escobar [-6]

Santos Escobar fell at the final hurdle of the United States Championship tournament on SmackDown, with Kevin Owens taking the victory.

8. Oba Femi [NR]

Someone who did find tournament success this week was Oba Femi, who overcame Riley Osborne in the final of the NXT Breakout Tournament at New Year's Evil.

7. Lyra Valkyria [NR]

Lyra Valkyria withstood the challenge of Blair Davenport at New Year's Evil to retain her NXT Women's Championship.

6. Randy Orton [-4]

SmackDown's main event Triple Threat between Randy Orton, AJ Styles and LA Knight ended in a no contest due to Bloodline interference, meaning we are getting a Fatal Four-Way for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at Royal Rumble.

5. Judgment Day [+2]

It was a mixed bag on Raw for Judgment Day, with the major positive Rhea Ripley retaining her Women's World Championship over Ivy Nile. However, this was tempered by Dominik Mysterio & JD McDonagh falling to the reunited Awesome Truth.

4. Damage CTRL [NR]

Not even requiring the interference of her Damage CTRL teammates, Iyo Sky retained her WWE Women's Championship over Michin on Friday's SmackDown.

3. Dragon Lee [-2]

The NXT North American Champion was absent from television this week due to some temporary visa issues, meaning Dragon Lee drops down the rankings.

2. Seth Rollins [+6]

Seth Rollins' long reign as the World Heavyweight Champion continued at Raw's Day 1, as he once again defeated Drew McIntyre in the show's main event.

1. Kevin Owens [+3]

Kevin Owens stood tall at the end of the United States Championship tournament, overcoming Santos Escobar in the final to earn a shot at Logan Paul at the Royal Rumble.

HONORABLE MENTIONS

Nia Jax - In a blood feud stretching back years, Nia Jax beat Becky Lynch in the opener of Day 1 Raw.

LWO - In a match featuring one of the longest springboard dives in history by Joaquin Wilde, LWO got the victory of the No Quarter Catch Crew.

Fallon Henley - For the second straight time, Fallon Henley defeated Tiffany Stratton, forcing the princess to become her farm hand for a day.

Butch & Tyler Bate - Former rivals and members of British Strong Style Butch & Tyler Bate reunited on SmackDown to beat Pretty Deadly.

  1. Judgment Day - 37 weeks (16 weeks at #1)
