WWE Power Rankings Top 25 Superstars This Week: #185: Post-Fastlane

Posted by Wes Keefer Thursday, March 15, 2018
Welcome to another edition of POWER RANKINGS from Smark Out Moment! Each week, we will break down the current roster and examine who has gone up the WWE hierarchy and who has unfortunately taken a step down the ladder. Factoring in things such as wins and losses, suspensions, injuries, making a name for one's self, being humiliated, and more, who is at the top of the food chain and who needs to make up some ground next week?

Here is the key code for the rankings shorthand when referencing their position in relation to the previous week:

NR = Not included in last week's rankings at all
+ Green = the number of moves up in the rankings compared to last week
- Red = the number of moves down in the rankings compared to last week
Honorable Mentions = five superstars who just barely missed the cut

Power Ranking WWE wrestlers list roster

25. HIDEO ITAMI + AKIRA TOZAWA [NR FIRST TIME RANKED]

205 Live seems to be introducing new tag titles and the first champions could be the duo of Itami and Tozawa. They have been impressive and victorious in just their second match as a unit.

24. PETE DUNNE [NR]

Dunne returned once more to NXT, this time to defend his title against Adam Cole. The Bruiserweight retained as Cole's sidekicks drew a DQ. Nonetheless, Cole and Dunne put on quite a match and can put on a classic when given the chance to finish a match.

23. BAYLEY [-16]

Bayley let Banks to the tigers once more, but her heel character needs a big promo cut to really get over.

22. SHANE McMAHON [NR]

Just when he seemed clear of Zayn and Owens, he pits the two friends against each other in a WrestleMania match. In retaliation, they assaulted McMahon and half the crew at ringside.

21. KEVIN OWENS [NR]

Owens did deliver nicely on the mic on SmackDown and was dominate when he cleared refs from the ring and destroyed Shane McMahon. However, his title match losses are racking up and he seems least likely to hold the WWE Championship belt and Zayn is destined for better things.

20. EMBER MOON [NR]

Moon fired back at Shayna Baszler and despite still healing her wounds from their last match, she was the one left standing.

19. CARMELLA [NR]

Ms. Money in the Bank could be cashing in very shortly. She is getting a push from out of nowhere, picking up a tag team win over Lynch and Naomi as Fastlane. On SmackDown, she beat Naomi one-on-one. She isn't one of the top females on the blue brand quite yet though.

18. SETH ROLLINS [-8]

Rollins got a cheap shot on Balor in earlier on Raw. In their match, Balor was the better man. Come WrestleMania, Rollins gets another crack at Balor, with the added bonus of the IC.

17. RUSEV [NR]

The chants are finally working. Rusev lost to Nakamura at Fastlane as predicted, but on SmackDown he was more aggressive and looked more impressive. The real question is where he will land come WreslteMania.

16. THE MIZ [-5]

The Intercontinental Champion is the best man on the mic between Rollins, Balor, and himself. He helped carry their promo on Miz TV, but is on the disadvantage when it comes to talent in the ring compared to the two high-flying speedsters.

15. ALEXA BLISS [NR]

Really wasn't sure where to put Bliss this week. She went full-on heel when she personally attacked Nia Jax by targeting her weight, a real issue for her in real life. It was a bit dark and with WWE big on the anti-bullying, it makes you wonder where this angle will lead to next.

14. BLUDGEON BROTHERS [NR]

The monsters of the SmackDown tag team division went on the attack at Fastlane, stopping the tag title match by attacking everyone. They took down the survivors of the assault on SmackDown, cementing themselves as threats that no one can stop.

13. FINN BALOR [+0]

Balor defeated Seth Rollins in a hard-fought match and seems to always have great chemistry with Rollins. As on right now, he is the favorite to win the Triple Threat match.

12. SAMI ZAYN [-9]

He didn't win the title at Fastlane, but Zayn is still a top star. He is now being placed into a match at WrestleMania against his friend, Kevin Owens. His answer...assault the man who made such a match, Shane McMahon.

11. JOHN CENA [+10]

Welcome back to Raw, Cena...or did you never really leave? After failing to win the WWE Championship at Fastlane, Cena ran back to the red brand and called out The Undertaker for one last match at WreslteMania. What if Taker declines? Will Cena run back to Tuesday nights to call out Orton for a desperate match at WM?

10. RIOTT SQUAD [+6]

Ruby Riott was impressive in her title match against Flair and will be back in a title match soon. She nearly upset the champion, but now Asuka butts in line.

9. SHINSUKE NAKAMURA [NR]

Nakamura beat Rusev at Fastlane, but now seems to be in a feud with Rusev at the same time he is in a feud with Styles leading into WM.

8. CEDRIC ALEXANDER [NR]

Alexander and Roderick Strong stole the show on 205 Live, but Alexander was the better athlete. He moves on to the finals at WrestleMania, which he fully deserves.

7. RANDY ORTON [+17]

The Viper is now a Grand Slam champion, having won the one title he never held before when he beat Roode at Fastlane. Sadly, he will start his reign stuck in the stale angle with Mahal that now involves the former champion in Roode.

6. ALEISTER BLACK [-1]

Black came to the ring to meet with Almas ahead of their match at TakeOver, Instead, he was faced with Vega and was assaulted by her verbally and physically. He did little with this segment, but he did give Candice LeRae a huge pop by introducing her.

5. CHARLOTTE FLAIR [NR]

In a match that was way better than expected, Flair outlasted Ruby Riott to retain. Asuka also named her as the superior champion and the one she wants to face at WM.

4. ASUKA [+2]

Asuka had as busy a schedule as John Cena did last week. She was at Fastlane to select Flair as her opponent come WrestleMania. She was on Raw to gloat about it in Bliss's face, and then she went back to SmackDown to debut.

3. ROMAN REIGNS [+5]

Brock Lesnar once more teased an appearance to never show up on Monday Night. Paul Heyman didn't even show up this time. Reigns continue to berate Lesnar for his actions and even went after Vince McMahon for allowing such nonsense in a world champion. Another great promo for the Big Dog does him well.

2. AJ STYLES [+7]

And still WWE Champion...AJ Styles outlasted five other men and even ruined Cena's WrestleMania path at the time. Now he can help hype his match at WrestleMania against Nakamura.

1. BRAUN STROWMAN [+0]

At number one for the second week in a row, it still feels like a low ranking for Braun. The man went into a tag team battle royal and won...as a solo competitor. Braun's path to WrestleMania is as crazy as a scene from Mad Max now, just full of chaos.

HONORABLE MENTIONS

Big E - Big E was booked nicely against the Bludgeon Brothers and could easily be thrown into a high profile feud towards a single title after WM.

Sanity - The former NXT tag team champions continued to the next stage of the Dusty Rhodes Classic, but they have little direction and will likely be used to put over an uprising team.

Absolution - Sonya Deville was again in action against Banks, but was not victorious this time. The trio needs a new angle to follow to avoid getting stale.

Street Profits - They took down Heavy Machinery in proceed to the next round in the Dusty Rhodes Classic

Candice LeRae - She was introduced at the last second on NXT and to a huge pop as well. She is going to be a huge part of the NXT title scene for the upcoming weeks.

BIGGEST MOVES THIS WEEK

Randy Orton +17
Bayley -16
