WWE Power Rankings Top 25 Superstars This Week: #184: Pre-Fastlane

Posted by Wes Keefer Saturday, March 10, 2018
Welcome to another edition of POWER RANKINGS from Smark Out Moment! Each week, we will break down the current roster and examine who has gone up the WWE hierarchy and who has unfortunately taken a step down the ladder. Factoring in things such as wins and losses, suspensions, injuries, making a name for one's self, being humiliated, and more, who is at the top of the food chain and who needs to make up some ground next week?

Here is the key code for the rankings shorthand when referencing their position in relation to the previous week:

NR = Not included in last week's rankings at all
+ Green = the number of moves up in the rankings compared to last week
- Red = the number of moves down in the rankings compared to last week
Honorable Mentions = five superstars who just barely missed the cut

Power Ranking WWE wrestlers list roster

25. SASHA BANKS [-2]

Sasha came to the rescue of Bayley after an attack from Absolution. However, Bayley still continues to not acknowledge The Boss as an ally or friend.

24. RANDY ORTON [NR]

Orton might be the number one contender for the US Championship this Sunday at Fastlane, but Roode is doing everything he can to kill any momentum heading into their title March. The champ interfered and let Jinder Mahal score a victory over The Viper.

23. MATT HARDY  [NR]

The true “Broken” version of Matt Hardy that was once popular on TNA seems to be coming to WWE. The type of promos and matches that made Hardy relevant again is in store next for the bland Wyatt-Hardy feud that needs a big match to finally end it.

22. KURT ANGLE  [NR]

Angle got revenge on Triple H for his cheap shot last week and will get to get into the ring with The Game for the first time in over a decade.

21. JOHN CENA  [-16]

Even John Cena isn’t same from WWE Creative. A week after leaving Raw for SmackDown and booking a championship match, Cena returned to Raw. He was thrown into a last-minute segment with Golduat that serves no purpose for his match at Fastlane on Sunday.

20. BECKY LYNCH [NR]

Lynch beat Carmella in a match that sets up a tag team match between Lynch and Naomi vs Natalya and Carmella. It’s not the best situation for someone like Lynch, but at least she is on the Fastlane card.

19. RONDA ROUSEY [-4]

Rousey put Triple H through a table last week and this week she got her hands on Stephanie McMahon. In just two weeks with the company, she has a WrestleMania tag match with Kurt Angle as her partner against The Authority. However, her character and personality needs tweaked between now and then to make her more likeable.

18. ABSOLUTION [NR]

Mandy Rose is currently the weak link of her team, but she is still improving. Paige is still a dominant force on the mic as the leader.

17. ELIAS [-8]

In the first-ever Symphony of Destruction match, Elias held his own against Braun Strowman. He still lost the match, but at least he is one of the top stars on Raw now.

16. RIOTT SQUAD [NR]

Ruby Riott went to verbal war with Charlotte Flair and did not disappoint. SmackDown is in need of more top tier talent and Ruby has taken the role. Her title match with Flair will be one to match this Sunday.

15. JINDER MAHAL [NR]

The former WWE Champion is just a pawn in the feud between Roode and Orton. Nonetheless, it never hurts to get a win over a number one contender.

14. DOLPH ZIGGLER [NR]

Ziggler showcases his mic skills against the likes of AJ Styles and they were evenly matched. When it comes to Sunday’s Six-Pack Challenge, Ziggler likely won’t fair as well.

13. FINN BALOR [+9]

The Miz will now have to defend his title at WrestleMania against both Seth Rollins and Finn Balor. However, Balor is the least pushed man out of the three.

12. MUSTAFA ALI [NR]

In the last quarterfinal match in the Cruiserweight Tournament, Ali battled Buddy Murphy and will move on to the semifinals.

11. THE MIZ [-1]

He got his wish: The Miz gets to showcase his belt at WrestleMania, but against both the likes of Seth Rollins and Finn Balor.

10. SETH ROLLINS [+2]

Rollins’s recent hot streak has landed him in a Triple Threat match at WrestleMania for the IC Championship.

9. AJ STYLES [+2]

The WWE Champion cut a decent promo against Ziggler, but was unsuccessful in a Fatal 5-way match ahead of the Six-Pack Challenge. It doesn’t look good for Styles come Sunday.

8. ROMAN REIGNS [-7]

He didn’t get Brock Lesnar again this week, but he did get Paul Heyman to face him. Roman might be improving on his character’s personality and verbal skills, but no one can compete with Heyman, who made it personal with his insults on Roman not being able to cut it as a Champion.

7. BAYLEY [+10]

Bayley was victorious against the green Mandy Rose, but Absolution proves too much for her as a unit. Sasha Banks came to her aid, but Bayley ignored her efforts to reconcile.

6. ASUKA [+0]

Asuka defeated Nia Jax once more and proves that there isn’t anyone who can seem to beat her cleanly. It is unclear who will be her next obstacle.

5. ALEISTER BLACK [NR]

With Johnny Gargano out, Aleister Black is in as the next contender for the championship.

4. THE BAR [+0]

They have a point: who is really left for them? They just took down The Revival and the Hardy Boyz are current not an option.

3. SAMI ZAYN [NR]

It will be an interesting weekend for Dami Zayn, as he pinned his “friend” Kevin Owens in order to win.

2. PAUL HEYMAN [NR]

Heyman stepped in for the absent champion and it helped the fact that he was not on Raw again. Heyman continues to be a marvel on the mic and hit Roman personal with his comments.

1. BRAUN STROWMAN [+2]

The Monster is back on top as he literally put a piano on top of his opponent Elias. Their feud was fresh, fun, and good for both men involved. It is time for the big man to move on though.

HONORABLE MENTIONS

CHARLOTTE FLAIR - Flair cut an elevating promo with Ruby Riott, then got a beatdown.

AUTHORS OF PAIN - The former tag team champions are in full swing of winning the Dusty Rhodes Classic again, starting by beating the team they beat last year in the finals: TM61.

TOMMASO CIAMPA - He is in quite the run as a heel and will be a future star very soon.

NIA JAX - The heavy hitting female once again lost to Asuka and is starting to show some vulnerability.

GOLDUST - Goldust got a weird push with John Cena, as it was out of the blue and also did nothing to help his character.

BIGGEST MOVES THIS WEEK

BAYLEY +10
JOHN CENA -16
