This list tracks the most notable official babyface turns and heel turns that happened in WWE during the year 2012.
Keep in mind: when a babyface attacks another babyface, that is usually a heel turn. When a heel attacks another heel, it does not automatically make the victim a babyface. The follow-up presentation matters just as much as the initial attack.

- January 6 - Daniel Bryan turned heel on SmackDown by developing an overconfident, manipulative personality during his World Heavyweight Championship reign.
- January 9 - Brodus Clay turned babyface on Raw by being repackaged as the Funkasaurus, replacing his expected monster heel direction with a dancing comedy babyface act.
- January 18 - Titus O'Neil turned heel on NXT by verbally ripping the audience, Hornswoggle and NXT itself.
- February 20 - Eve Torres turned heel on Raw by admitting she had used Zack Ryder for publicity and planned to manipulate John Cena the same way.
- April 2 - Brock Lesnar turned heel on Raw by returning to WWE and attacking John Cena.
- April 6 - Ryback turned babyface on SmackDown by being repackaged from Skip Sheffield into Ryback and starting his squash-match winning streak as a babyface.
- April 8 - Aksana turned heel by beginning her storyline relationship with Antonio Cesaro and moving away from Theodore Long.
- May 7 - Paul Heyman turned heel on Raw by returning as Brock Lesnar's representative.
- May 20 - Big Show turned heel at Over the Limit by knocking out John Cena and helping John Laurinaitis win their No Disqualification match.
- May 20 - Christian turned babyface at Over the Limit by returning from injury as a babyface and winning the Intercontinental Championship from Cody Rhodes.
- July 16 - Chris Jericho turned babyface on Raw by starting a feud with Dolph Ziggler after Ziggler mocked him for supposedly not being able to win the big one anymore.
- July 23 - CM Punk turned heel at Raw 1000 by attacking The Rock with the GTS after The Rock tried to save John Cena from Big Show.
- July 23 - Kane turned babyface at Raw 1000 by teaming with The Undertaker to fight off Jinder Mahal, Curt Hawkins, Tyler Reks, Hunico, Camacho and Drew McIntyre.
- September 10 - Michael Cole turned babyface on Raw after Jerry Lawler's legitimate on-air heart attack, ending the sustained heel commentator persona.
- September 24 - Daniel Bryan turned babyface on Raw by teaming with Kane as Team Hell No and moving into a babyface feud with Team Rhodes Scholars.
- October 28 - Brad Maddox turned heel at Hell in a Cell by giving Ryback a low blow and fast-counting CM Punk's pin to cost Ryback the WWE Championship.
- November 12 - The Miz turned babyface on Raw by quitting CM Punk's Survivor Series team and joining Mick Foley's team.
- November 18 - The Shield turned heel at Survivor Series by debuting on the main roster and attacking Ryback to help CM Punk retain the WWE Championship. This applies to Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins.
- November 18 - Tamina Snuka turned heel at Survivor Series by returning from injury and attacking AJ Lee.
- December 2 - Natalya turned babyface on SmackDown by saving Hornswoggle from Rosa Mendes.
- December 16 - AJ Lee turned heel at TLC by pushing John Cena off a ladder during his match with Dolph Ziggler.
- December 16 - Alberto Del Rio turned babyface at TLC by saving Ricardo Rodriguez from 3MB and teaming with The Miz and The Brooklyn Brawler against them.
- December 17 - Big E Langston turned heel on Raw by debuting on the main roster, attacking John Cena and aligning with AJ Lee.
