AEW Collision Results: August 5, 2023 Highlights Coverage

AEW COLLISION for August 5, 2023 is coming to you live from Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina! AEW COLLISION RESULTS: AUGUST 5, 2023

  • AEW World Tag Team Championship: FTR (c) defeated The Mogul Embassy (Big Bill and Brian Cage) (w/Prince Nana) by pinfall, retaining the titles.
  • After the match, FTR talks about all they've accomplished so far. They mention their trilogy with The Briscoe Brothers and being 10x tag team champions across many promotions. There's one thing they've yet to do though. FTR wants The Young Bucks and officially challenges them to a match with the tag titles on the line for All In at Wembley Stadium.
  • Tony Schiavone interviews Bullet Club Gold. Jay White, Juice Robinson, and The Gunn Club all toy around with Schiavone. The Gunns are holding a Jay White life-size cardboard cutout as well. White says he'll beat Metalik later on tonight.
  • AEW TBS Championship: Kris Statlander (c) defeated Mercedes Martinez by pinfall, retaining the title.
  • After the match, Martinez attacks Statlander. Diamante runs in and attacks Statlander as well, alongside Martinez. Willow Nightingale comes in for the save and both Martinez and Diamante run off.
  • Tony Schiavone interviews Toni Storm. Storm says that she feels naked without her AEW Women's World Championship. She says that she doesn't feel like herself and that this isn't right. She finishes by telling Schiavone to shut up.
  • Samoa Joe defeated Serpentico by submission.
  • Post-match, Joe cuts a promo, proclaiming himself the "One True King of Television." Joe calls out CM Punk and says that he is not the best in the world. However, his loss in the Owen Hart Tournament against Punk made him think. He talks about their legacy together and says that a roll-up is not good enough. Joe challenges Punk to a rematch for All In. Finally, he says that this invitation is for one week only, and if he doesn't get an answer, he'll best believe convince him to accept.
  • Tony Schiavone has a sit-down interview with The Acclaimed. They've tried to get in contact with Billy Gunn but he's adamant that he is retired. Billy feels at fault in thinking he is the reason that they lost their Trios Championship match. They thank Billy for everything and talk about how much he's meant to them. The Acclaimed say that they will bring Billy's boots to the ring in every match they have.
  • AEW World Trios Championship: House of Black (Brody King, Buddy Matthews, and Malakai Black (c) defeated Action Andretti, Darius Martin, and Lee Johnson by pinfall, retaining the titles.
  • QT Marshall and Harley Cameron talk to Powerhouse Hobbs backstage. They try to buy Hobbs affection with some gold and claim that All Out will be a new beginning for him. Hobbs takes the gold but says he doesn't need their help and leaves.
  • Tony Schiavone interviews Christian Cage and Luchasaurus, along with Cage's daughter. Cage, still proclaiming himself as the AEW TNT Champion, says that he takes issue with Darby Allin. Cage's daughter asks to hold the belt and Cage says no because she didn't earn it. He tells security that she isn't credentialed as well.
  • "Switchblade" Jay White (w/Bullet Club Gold) defeated Metalik by pinfall.
  • AEW "Real" World Championship (w/Ricky Steamboat as Special Guest Ring Enforcer): CM Punk (c) defeated Ricky Starks by pinfall, "retaining" his title.
  • After the match, Starks ambushes Steamboat from behind, shoving Punk out of the ring as well. Starks starts beating Steamboat with a belt until eventually he is chased off by Punk with a steel chair.
