Champsgiving Tournament 2018: Best World Champions in WWE History Round 3 | Smark Out Moment

Champsgiving Tournament 2018: Best World Champions in WWE History Round 3

Posted by Anthony Mango Tuesday, October 30, 2018
Welcome to the inaugural Smark Out Moment 2018 CHAMPSGIVING tournament!

For this first edition, it seemed only fitting to discuss the top tier talent in WWE with the best world champions (WWE Championship, World Heavyweight Championship, and Universal Championship) as of fall 2018.

At the time of the creation of this bracket, there were just three people shy of a full 64, so two bye-rounds were vacated and on a technicality, Ted DiBiase was given a spot for argument's sake. All participants were seeded based on their combined days as champion up until the assumed November 2nd Crown Jewel event.

The results from Round 2 are in and the winners are as follows (and can be found in more detail here):

Bruno Sammartino defeated The Miz | Undertaker defeated Shawn Michaels
Randy Orton defeated Ric Flair | Goldberg defeated Bret Hart
John Cena defeated Kevin Owens | Steve Austin defeated The Rock
Triple H defeated Chris Jericho | Batista defeated Dean Ambrose
Daniel Bryan defeated Hulk Hogan | AJ Styles defeated Jeff Hardy
Yokozuna defeated Pedro Morales | CM Punk defeated Sycho Sid
Roman Reigns defeated Bob Backlund | Kurt Angle defeated Randy Savage
Seth Rollins defeated Brock Lesnar | Edge defeated Mark Henry

We are now on Round 3's set of matches. Cast your votes below and decide what moves on to Round 4!

TELL US WHAT YOU VOTED FOR AND WHY IN THE COMMENTS BELOW!

Vote on your favorites in the Google Form below. Next week, the tournament will continue with round 4.

Note: Keep in mind that you're supposed to be voting based on solely their WWE world title reigns, not what they did as a WCW champion, what they did as Intercontinental champion, or who you think is the overall more entertaining star from their entire careers. This should be based entirely on what they did while they held the WWE Championship, Universal Championship, and World Heavyweight Championship - no more, no less. I have a feeling this is too hard of a concept for people to stick to and this tournament has become about "I liked Goldberg when he was WCW champion" and "but Daniel Bryan is my favorite wrestler, so he should win this" and such, which defeats the purpose of the tournament. If that ends up being how these go down, there won't be a Champsgiving II next year.
