Future Endeavors: Rich Swann Released from WWE

Posted by Anthony Mango Thursday, February 15, 2018
As of February 15, 2018, Rich Swann has been officially released from World Wrestling Entertainment. This all started when he was suspended on December 10, 2017 after being arrested for a domestic violence situation. Charges were dropped against him in January 2018, but he never returned to action.

Their release statement was as follows:

Rich Swann and WWE have mutually agreed to part ways as of today, February 15, 2018.

WWE wishes Swann the best in all of his future endeavors.

My reaction: Having been cleared of charges, this is kind of shitty for Swann. He should have been given the benefit of the doubt and innocent before being proven guilty. I understand their decision to suspend him for the investigation, but after that was all settled, he should have been allowed back into good graces. Releasing him feels like they are just wiping him out for the ease of it all and not being fair. That being said, his release isn't going to kill 205 Live. He wasn't saving the brand by any means. Hopefully, he does well on the indie scene.
