Stone Cold Steve Austin beat Shawn Michaels | The Rock beat Undertaker
We're now on Round 5 of the tournament. This includes the Wildcard opportunity that you can give to Vince McMahon
[THOUGHTS: Though I was expecting John Cena to beat CM Punk and face Hulk Hogan here, I'm not utterly shocked beyond belief that CM Punk won instead. I think he got the popular vote in some ways. I would however be surprised to see him win here. It will probably be close, due to said popular vote, but while CM Punk's current reign is great, when you compare that to all of Hulk Hogan's combined, it's pretty hard to put all your eggs in the one basket.]
[THOUGHTS: This one is a toss-up. Both of these guys were at the forefront of the Attitude Era and were hands down the most important people on the roster. As such, they were the most important champions. They did a lot in a little time frame. Overall, I would say the quality of the Rock's matches were better but Austin's feuds were more popular and the company did revolve more around him than The Rock. Narrowly, I give the edge to Stone Cold Steve Austin, but this is a tough one and I could see The Rock getting your votes as well.]
[THOUGHTS: Lol, come on. Vince McMahon was certainly not a better champion than any of these people. In fact, he's very low on the totem pole for champions as far as I'm concerned. The only reason I gave him this wildcard spot was because I had an uneven number of people and he was the total oddball of the bunch.]
I went with John Cena over CM Punk, so my match is John Cena vs. Hulk Hogan. After a tough decision, I ended up going with Hulk Hogan. My reasoning was based on popularity. They're both similar characters, both were the faces of the company, both had long reigns and were great champions, but Hulk Hogan was more well-received. You didn't hear people booing him like they do with John Cena.
