Vince McMahon was denied his Wildcard entry spot
That means we're down to the finals, everyone!
[THOUGHTS: Steve Austin should win this. CM Punk is a great champion and his reign isn't even over yet, but I'm hoping people don't just vote on who they like the best or they vote for Punk because he's the current champ and it's fresh in their minds. Can you really justify CM Punk's title reigns meaning more to the company than Steve Austin's, especially when the match everyone wants to see is CM Punk against Steve Austin because of Austin's involvement and legacy? If CM Punk were boosting the ratings as champ like Austin did, it would be a different story, but it just isn't the case.]
Last round, I went with Hulk Hogan over CM Punk, meaning my finals is Hulk Hogan vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin. After some thought, I realized that although Stone Cold Steve Austin was the head of the attitude era and everything revolved around him being one of the most important and popular champions in the history of the company, it means more that Hulk Hogan was there because he CREATED that history of that company for the most part. The reason people say Austin was as big as he was is because they can compare him to Hulk Hogan. The measuring stick wins out, as Austin's impact on the company hasn't made as much of a splash as much as Hulk Hogan when you factor in his popularity and what came before him. Hulk Hogan put the company on the map. Austin helped it move from a downswing into an upswing, but that momentum was already there. Hogan came from the bottom.
