WWE SmackDown Results: December 18, 2020 Highlights Coverage

  • Kevin Owens kicks off the show by demanding Roman Reigns comes out to face him. Reigns doesn't come out, so he shoots on the WWE Universal Champion. Paul Heyman appears on the titantron, calling Owens a martyr for returning to SmackDown this week. He goes backstage in search of Reigns, but Adam Pearce tries to stop him. Reigns comes out to the ring, playing mind games with The Prizefighter. Reigns says he doesn't like Owens calling him a bad guy. He is THE guy, which is something Owens would not understand. He asks to be acknowledged as Owens' Tribal Chief, and the head of his family table. Owens returns to the ring, but Jey Uso attacks him before he reaches the ring. Reigns joins the attack, scaring off the producers that come out to stop him.
  • Backstage, Roman Reigns demands Jey Uso take out Kevin Owens.
  • The Street Profits defeated Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode by pinfall to retain the SmackDown Tag Team Championship.
  • Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode aggressively question the result with the referee.
  • Jey Uso takes out Kevin Owens backstage with a steel chair.
  • Kayla Braxton interviews Bianca Belair, with the EST of WWE questioning why Bayley calls herself a role model.
  • The Riott Squad defeated Billie Kay and Tamina by pinfall.
  • Carmella says it is the season to drink bubbly. She insults Sasha Banks, who eventually comes out and attacks her. Banks slaps Carmella's assitant, only for The Untouchable One to smash another bottle of champagne across her back.
  • Jey Uso sends Kevin Owens through a table backstage.
  • Otis defeated Shinsuke Nakamura by pinfall.
  • Big E laughs coyly as Sami Zayn prepares the Sami Awards.
  • Chad Gable asks Otis why he didn't hit The Caterpillar.
  • Sami Zayn comes out for the Sami Awards. He wins Comeback of the Year and Match of the Year, although Big E wins Superstar of the Year. He comes out to deliver a speech, before taking out Zayn.
  • Kayla Braxton interviews Bayley, who says she put SmackDown and the SmackDown Women's Championship on the map.
  • Bayley defeated Bianca Belair by pinfall.
  • Roman Reigns is in the ring as he questions why Kevin Owens would blow his opportunity to be in the ring with The Head of the Table. Owens hobbles towards the ring, taking out Jey Uso with a chair. He goes after Reigns, but the WWE Universal Champion and Uso take out Owens, decimating him with steel chairs and tables. The Prizefighter is left buried under steel chairs and tables. Owens struggles to get up, but he says he will take the WWE Universal Championship at TLC, or die trying.
