CM Punk beat Alberto Del Rio | Randy Savage beat Eddie Guerrero
Let's continue with the second of four quadrant parts for ROUND 2!
[THOUGHTS: Slaughter had a good feud to cap off his championship reign, but Edge was a reliable person to thrust the title upon when they needed it more than once. He's had a better foothold in the World Heavyweight Championship, but he's still an overal better WWE Champion than Sgt Slaughter in my opinion.]
[THOUGHTS: Sammartino holds the record for the most amount of days as champion (both in one title reign as well as combined) and if this were solely about th WWWF Championship, there's no question that he'd be the best. However, this incorporates all incarnations of the title in comparison to one another. Sammartino is the reason that wrestling was as successful as it was for that time period, but Hulk Hogan is the reason wrestling was able to not only be as successful as it was during HIS long time period, but also branch outward and become a global phenomenon. The WWE itself is nothing without Hulk Hogan, whose title reign was the catalyst for the change in the company itself.]
[THOUGHTS: Yokozuna played a big part for a small period of time and he played that part well. However, his first title reign was ruined by Hulk Hogan and his second was a stereotypical build up towards a babyface return of the title. That babyface was Bret Hart, who had the task of keeping the company on his shoulders after Hogan's exit and managed to do it even after Hogan had been positioned to replace him at WrestleMania IX.]
[THOUGHTS: Chris Jericho is overall the more important wrestler I would say, but Kurt Angle's championship tenure far exceeds Jericho's for this title. If this were the Intercontinental Championship tournament, the win would go to Jericho, but his first Undisputed Championship reign pales in comparison to Angle's reigns.]
