Hottest Divas & Knockouts Tournament: Round 5, Matches 181-186

Posted by Anthony Mango - Wednesday, August 29, 2012

Who are the sexiest wrestling women in WWE and TNA history? We are now on ROUND 5 of the tournament with matches #181-186. First thing's first, here are your results from panel 3 for Round 4:

Kelly Kelly beat Lita | Sunny beat Erica Chevillar
Maria Kanellis beat Savannah | Ashley Valence beat Jasmin St. Claire

So here's the next set of matches for you to vote on!

Mickie James vs Eve Torres

Mickie James vs Eve Torres

[THOUGHTS: Two real strong competitors in this tournament, but one has to go. At their worst, they were Piggie James and the Hoeski, but they're both worthy of moving on. My guess is that Mickie James will come out on top, but I could be totally wrong.]

Maryse Ouellet vs Trish Stratus

Maryse vs Trish Stratus

[THOUGHTS: This could very well have been the finals, and with the Wildcard, it might just end up being it with a rematch. Either woman could win the entire tournament with no shock factor. I'm expecting Maryse to get your votes, but if anyone so far that has gone up against her has a chance to knock her out, it's Trish.]

Miss Jackie Gayda Haas vs Stacy Keibler

Jackie Gayda vs Stacy Keibler

[THOUGHTS: I'm not surprised at all to see Stacy Keibler this far into the tournament, but I am very surprised that Jackie Gayda's lasted this long. Considering the trouble that Marlena gave Stacy last round, will Jackie's large support group give her the upset win over one of the potential favorites of the tournament in Stacy?]

Christy Hemme vs Gail Kim

Christy Hemme vs Gail Kim

[THOUGHTS: I expected both Tessmacher and Layla to move on, not these two. You guys surprised me on those polls. Gail struggled more against Layla than Hemme did against Brooke Adams, so the edge is probably in Hemme's favor.]

Kelly Kelly (Barbara Blank) vs Sunny (Tammy Lynn Sytch)

Kelly Kelly vs Sunny

[THOUGHTS: This will be Sunny's toughest test. Kelly Kelly struggled against Lita, so that could come into play here. Essentially this boils down to what era of wrestling you're more familiar with. Younger voters will probably go with Kelly Kelly while people my age (20's) will go with Sunny.]

Maria Kanellis vs Ashley Valence (Ashley Ann Vickers)

Maria Kanellis vs Ashley Valence

[THOUGHTS: Both of these women have beaten opponents with ease, so again, we're at the point where either person could win. Maria has more enemies than Valence, though, so I could see her losing in this round more so than Ashley. Then again, Maria's much more well known in the wrestling community than Vickers is.]

DIFFERENCES IN MY BRACKETS
Since I have a second bracket of solely my votes for you guys to see, we differ sometimes. Everything above is the same except the following matches below:

Velvet Sky vs Marlena (Terri Runnels)

[THOUGHTS: Although I originally thought to vote for Stacy Keibler last round, I changed my vote under consideration to Marlena. Velvet Sky's gone strong so far for me, and it continues here.]

Miss Tessmacher Brooke Adams vs Layla El

[THOUGHTS: Surprised that these two didn't win their respective last rounds. Very surprised. I wrestled (no pun intended) with my choice for this one until Raw, wherein Layla just looked gorgeous, sealing her win over Brooke Tessmacher here for me.]

AJ Lee (April Jeanette Mendez) vs Michelle McCool

[THOUGHTS: I originally thought I would go with Ashley Valence instead of Michelle McCool, and then I thought either one of them would knock AJ out. However, I've decided against that, and now, AJ Lee is going to move on beyond both of them. However, this is definitely her last round in my book.]

Wrestling Smack Talk: 8/25/2012

Posted by Anthony Mango - Saturday, August 25, 2012

What's been going on this week in the world of professional wrestling? It's time to break it down in the latest edition of SMACK TALK, my wrestling podcast and the quick notes below. Make sure to subscribe, comment on the videos and this post, and let us know your thoughts.

Watch each part below:
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8 | Part 9 | Part 10 | Part 11

  • Don't forget to vote on the latest group of matches for the hottest divas & knockouts tournament
  • Ezekiel Jackson watched SummerSlam at Hooters, not backstage? Is he in the dog house (well, he's at Hooters)? I would think this is really weird and maybe a sign of a future release.
  • Jack Swagger has apparently lost his push because of repeated marijuana failures. Tsk tsk, I don't understand the fascination with marijuana, especially if it's causing you from being at a higher point in your company.
  • Tyler Reks has been released from WWE. He requested his release so he could spend more time with his daughter. For the longest time, I've been saying that they'd fire him, and that it would come at any minute. That minute lasted years. Not only was I proven wrong that whole time, but also on the terms of his release. I never expected him to be the one to initiate it. Kudos to Gabe Tuft for choosing fatherhood. Smark Out Moment wishes you the best of luck.
  • Rey Mysterio's had a concussion. Now THAT countdown is a standard that you can count on - when is Rey going to be injured? The sure-fire bet is always "soon".
  • Chris Masters tweeted a picture of himself holding a drink and a gun pointed to his head. He regrets it now, as people took it as a suicidal plea for help, but he didn't intend for it to be like that.
  • Alex Shelley's deal with WWE is imminent? Hm..
  • Iron Sheik is pissed that "the Indian", Jinder Mahal, is using the Camel Clutch. I assume the first thing he thought when he saw this was FACKIN BULLSHEET.
  • Charlotte, aka Ashley Flair, could possibly be paired with Cody Rhodes? I'm all for that!
  • Christian will be participating in Bound for Glory as part of his deal with TNA allowing Ric Flair to be at the Hall of Fame. I would doubt he'll be wrestling, but hopefully he does something more than just announce a video like he did the last time.
  • Rumor mill says some names for the WWE Hall of Fame this year are Mick Foley, Bob Backlund, Kevin Nash, Ultimate Warrior, and JBL. That's one hell of a lineup if that's the case. The most likely out of all of them, I would think, would be Mick Foley, and as far as I'm concerned he could be the headliner or JBL could, considering his New York connections. I don't quite understand how Kevin Nash works into this, but I'm also curious as to whom they'll pick as their big star for next year's WrestleMania 30 HOF. Undertaker, perhaps? Maybe even Vince McMahon himself?

Hottest Divas & Knockouts Tournament: Round 4, Matches 177-180

Posted by Anthony Mango - Wednesday, August 22, 2012

Who are the sexiest wrestling women in WWE and TNA history? We are now on ROUND 4 of the tournament with matches #177-180. First thing's first, here are your results from panel 2 for Round 4:

Jackie Gayda beat Carmella DeCesare | Stacy Keibler beat Marlena
Christy Hemme beat Miss Tessmacher | Gail Kim beat Layla El

So here's the next set of matches for you to vote on!

Kelly Kelly (Barbara Blank) vs Lita (Amy Dumas)

Kelly Kelly vs Lita

[THOUGHTS: Lita's made it quite far in the tournament, but this is her toughest competition so far, and seeing as how easily Kelly Kelly has beaten her previous opponents, it's likely she'll win here as well.]

Sunny (Tamara Lynn Sytch) vs Erica Lee Chevillar

Sunny vs Erica Chevillar

[THOUGHTS: I would think that Sunny should win this not only because this is a wrestling audience, but c'mon, it's SUNNY! This could be time for the Playmate to exit..]

Maria Kanellis vs Savannah (Angela Fong)

Maria Kanellis vs Savannah

[THOUGHTS: Savannah was able to upset AJ Lee last round to my surprise, but can she pull off two magic tricks in a row and also upset Maria? AJ says she'll never pose for Playboy, Maria already did. Does that make a difference?]

Jasmin St. Claire vs Ashley Valence (Ashley Ann Vickers)

Jasmin St. Claire vs Ashley Valence

[THOUGHTS: Jasmin St. Claire's followers gave her the win last time over Michelle McCool and the porn star now faces a Maxim model that is one of the favored girls on 4chan and many other sites - seemingly also in this tournament.]

DIFFERENCES IN MY BRACKET FOR PANEL 3
Since I have a second bracket of solely my votes for you guys to see, we differ sometimes. Everything above is the same except the following matches below:

Kelly Kelly (Barbie Blank) vs Karen Angle Jarrett

[THOUGHTS: I voted Karen over Lita last round, but I have to knock her out over Kelly Kelly this time.]

Sunny (Tammy Lynn Sytch) vs Sable (Rena Mero Lesnar)

[THOUGHTS: Classic WWF divas before they were called "divas". This is the duo my age bracket grew up with. I had a big thing for both back in the day, but Sunny will always trump Sable in my mind, without a doubt.]

Maria Kanellis vs AJ Lee (April Jeanette Mendez)

[THOUGHTS: Two divas that have a reputation for being cute, although one is now in a crazy authoritative role and the other is constantly bitching on Twitter. AJ gets my vote over Maria here.]

Michelle McCool vs Ashley Valence (Ashley Ann Vickers)

[THOUGHTS: I don't know who I'm going to end up voting for in this match. It's too difficult to decide and I probably won't until the last minute like I did with Maryse and Madison Rayne. Both are worthy to move on to the next round, and whichever one does will probably eliminate AJ for me.]

WWE SummerSlam 2012 PPV Results & Review Coverage Live

Posted by Anthony Mango - Sunday, August 19, 2012

Watch WWE SummerSlam PPV Live Stream Free Pay-Per-View
WWE SummerSlam 2012 PPV Review and Results
Watch WWE SummerSlam 2012 ppv live online coverage of results and review here. Triple H vs Brock Lesnar. CM Punk defends the WWE Championship against John Cena and Big Show. Daniel Bryan versus Kane. Sheamus defends the World Heavyweight Championship against Alberto Del Rio. Christ Jericho vs Dolph Ziggler. Santino Marella vs Antonio Cesaro for the United States championship. The Miz vs Rey Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship. Kofi Kingston & R-Truth vs the Prime Time Players. I would expect Damien Sandow vs Brodus Clay. You can check out my predictions here.

United States Championship [YouTube Pre-Show]: Santino Marella (c) vs. Antonio Cesaro
Once again, it looks like the YouTube feed isn't working for me. I'd like to watch one, haha. The feed literally JUST came on to show me the replay of Antonio Cesaro pinning Santino Marella.

WINNER (and new United States Champion): Antonio Cesaro via pinfall.
Didn't get to watch the match, and I don't really like the idea of Cesaro as champion instead of some other people, but I'm glad that Santino dropped the title as there's more of a chance that it can mean something now. Hopefully, that happens.

Friend of mine just brought up a good point - why isn't Josh Mathews on the commentary team? It feels like an episode of Raw with just Cole and Lawler. I agree.

Vickie Guerrero comes out to introduce Dolph Ziggler. What do you think, start the pay-per-view off with a bang and then go downhill?

Dolph Ziggler vs. Chris Jericho
Jericho's got his ribs taped. So far the match is pretty much Jericho dominating, schooling the younger wrestler. We're definitely expecting this to be a Jericho win and a Ziggler cash-in later, now that this is the opening match of the night. Nice hurricanrana from Jericho on the top rope. Ziggler hits the Zig Zag, but Jericho kicks out. Vickie causes some interference and Ziggler gets a two-count with an inside cradle. Walls of Jericho gets locked in - the ruthless version. Ziggler taps out.

WINNER: Chris Jericho via submission.
Good match. Not as good as I was hoping, but then again, I had really, really high expectations for it.

Commercial time. Ugh. Slim Jim isn't the same without Randy Savage.

Piers Morgan is in the crowd, sitting behind Lawler.

Striker is backstage talking to Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar. Heyman is talking, not Lesnar, thankfully.

Daniel Bryan vs. Kane
Waste of a match. Slow. Uninteresting so far. Daniel Bryan's entrance was more exciting than the match at the moment. Kane's shoe is untied...that's what we're focusing on the most. We're waiting for a botch with that. Daniel Bryan goes for a headbutt from the top rope, but Kane catches him and chokeslams him. Kane picks him up for a tombstone, but Daniel Bryan puts him in a small package and wins. Wow, that was random.

WINNER: Daniel Bryan via pinfall.
About as good as I was expecting. This wasn't SummerSlam-worthy at all in my mind.

Backstage, Kane is flipping out, looking for Kane. Josh Mathews comes up to talk to him, Kane tosses him offscreen.

Intercontinental Championship: The Miz (c) vs. Rey Mysterio
Rey comes out dressed as Batman. I'm hoping Miz comes out dressed as Bane. For that matter, get Maryse to come back dressed as Catwoman. Miz's "Awesome" text is out on the stage from WrestleMania. Nice Torture Rack style backbreaker of sorts from Miz. Miz is hyping himself a lot in this match - big fan. Gotta love the Miz. I hope that doesn't lead to Mysterio winning the title. Rey hits the 619. Miz moves out of the way for the splash. Rey flips him up for a pin and Miz kicks out. Miz hits Skull Crushing Finale and wins.

WINNER: The Miz via pinfall.
I enjoyed when Miz was in charge and taunting and such. A little better than expected, but I hope that they don't have a long feud. I'd rather see Miz face some other people and have a really good IC title reign.

Raw Active commercial. Now Teddy Long is backstage talking with Eve Torres. CM Punk is waiting outside AJ Lee's door. He goes in, she's all smiles. He says triple threat matches are unfair to the champ and she's doing this to get back at him for the proposal. He says he'll win again and everyone will show him some respect.

World Heavyweight Championship: Sheamus (c) vs. Alberto Del Rio
Mike Chioda got a nice chant coming out before the match started. Feels like their introductions are taking forever. Sheamus and Del Rio are basically just fighting each other like a street fight, clawing at each other and such. I hope they keep this as stiff as it seems now (but with more intensity). Sheamus picks Del Rio up in an Electric Chair (which doesn't happen) and in the process, Del Rio undoes the turnbuckle. This has become too slow and it's hurting the match, I think. It needs to pick up the pace like it did at the beginning. Del Rio gets the cross-armbreaker on Sheamus. I doubt he'll be tapping. Sheamus picks him up instead and slams him down to get out of it. Sheamus hits White Noise. Del Rio kicks out. Del Rio dodges the Brogue Kick, but gets a spear in the corner instead. Sheamus starts doing the 10 attacks to the chest. Ricardo tosses a shoe into the ring. Sheamus catches it and uses it. He pins Del Rio, but Del Rio gets his foot on the ropes, though Chioda doesn't notice and awards the match to Sheamus.

WINNER: Sheamus via pinfall.
Meh. The ending was interesting, I'll give them that. Again, I don't want a rematch.

Del Rio and Ricardo are still in the ring after Sheamus leaves. Del Rio leaves, pissed. Ok, that was a waste of time. They've stalled a lot.

Speaking of time-wasting, here's an ad for the National Guard.

Tag Team Championship: Kofi Kingston & R-Truth (c) vs. The Prime Time Players
It took them months and Kofi and Truth FINALLY have matching outfits. Pretty even. I hope Young and O'Neil win, just out of necessity to drop the title, kind of like with Cesaro. Nice crossbody from Kofi on the outside onto Titus. Darren rolls up R-Truth, but Truth kicks out. Truth hits his finisher and pins Darren Young for the win.

WINNERS: Kofi Kingston and R-Truth via pinfall.
Not a big fan of it. This pay-per-view is so lackluster for "the second biggest ppv of the year". That seems to be a regular thing, lately.

Lots of time wasting with Axxess (I never know if I've spelled that right, but I'm too lazy to check at the moment).

WWE Championship [Triple Threat Match]: CM Punk (c) vs. John Cena vs. Big Show
Cena looks surprised at the boos. Nobody else is surprised. Punk's tights are more along the Bret Hart style instead of Randy Savage style. Not bad. Big Show suplexes both men at the same time. CM Punk tries to pick Big Show up for the GTS, but can't. Cena's able to pick up Show for the AA, though, but Punk knocks them down. Show does the Vader Bomb, hitting Cena (Punk moves out of the way). That could have been a bad botch - glad to see they didn't screw it up and get injured. Nice spot with Show catching Punk's suicide dive and throwing him into the ropes on the outside. Punk hits the elbow drop on Show, but Show tosses him off. Punk puts Show in some kind of a submission, but Show gets out. Cena jumps on and puts him in the STF. Show stands up and falls back into the turnbuckle to get Cena off his back. Punk hits Show with his springboard clothesline. They go back to double-teaming Show. Cena has the STF on as Punk has his move from earlier locked in. Big Show taps out. The ref calls for the bell. Out comes AJ Lee. Punk says he wants the WWE Universe to decide, tweet and such. Big Show chokeslams both of them at the same time. He pins Cena, who kicks out. He pins Punk, who kicks out. Cena hits the AA on Show. Punk throws Cena out of the ring, pins Show, and wins. What did I tell you?

WINNER: CM Punk via pinfall.
Knew it. Just going to say that.

They're stalling so much with this post-match celebration. Lawler and Cole don't even have anything to say.

Now they're stalling with a commercial for The Day and talking about all the celebs in the crowd.

Now they're showing the pre-show stuff.

Now they're wasting even more time with some live musical performance. Wow. This is awful. Even a DIVAS match would make more sense than all this shit. Speak of the divas, they're on stage dancing. They keep showing the commentators and announcers and such dancing to this. This is so, so awful. I think I just got another nomination for the "Worst" section of the Best and Worst of the Year Awards.

If you haven't left yet, thinking that WWE was done with the ppv a half hour ago, I commend you.

Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar
HHH better lose to Lesnar here. They killed the lights for the introduction. I like that. Brawling, as expected. HHH clotheslines Lesnar out of the ring. So on and so forth. Lesnar takes his gloves off. Lesnar's got a bloody nose. Good German suplex from Lesnar. Zzzz. HHH throws Lesnar into the commentary table, then hits him in the stomach. They bring up Lesnar's stomach problems from the past. HHH goes for Pedigree, Lesnar twists into F5, HHH escapes and hits the Pedigree. Lesnar kicks out. Lesnar low-blows HHH, but the ref was told not to DQ anyone. Lesnar hits the F5, but HHH kicks out. Lesnar gets the kimura (sp?) on HHH, who reaches the ropes, but of course that doesn't matter. He gets out of it anyway though. HHH hits another Pedigree. Before HHH can pin him, Lesnar locks the kimura in again. HHH taps out.

WINNER: Brock Lesnar via submission.
Glad that Lesnar won. Now I don't have a reason to complain about HHH not putting someone over.

Crowd starts chanting "you tapped out". LMAO.

HIGH SPOTS
1. Jericho vs Ziggler
2. CM Punk retaining the title
3. HHH losing

LOW BLOWS
1. Musical performance
2. How much time they wasted when they could have added more matches
3. Not a single match stood out as being awesome to me

CRITIQUE RATING SCALE: 2-COUNT NEAR-FALL (Meh)
Reasoning: It wasn't SO bad that I hated it, but it just wasn't great, in any way whatsoever. A big reason for this was that it just felt like a 3-hour Raw and it really had FAR too much time wasted on it.

Wrestling Smack Talk: 8/18/2012

Posted by Anthony Mango - Saturday, August 18, 2012

What's been going on this week in the world of professional wrestling? It's time to break it down in the latest edition of SMACK TALK, my wrestling podcast and the quick notes below. Make sure to subscribe, comment on the videos and this post, and let us know your thoughts.

Watch each part below:
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8 | Part 9 | Part 10 | Part 11

  • Don't forget to vote on the latest group of matches for the hottest divas & knockouts tournament
  • Sofia Cortez (Ivelisse Velez) and Caylee Turner (Christina Crawford) have been released from FCW, aka NXT, aka WWE Developmental. Crawford is probably not a big loss, but I think losing Velez is a shame.
  • Bob Costas at the Olympics referred to the old WWF. I guess that ban REALLY has been let go from World Wildlife Fund, am I right?
  • Ryback's new theme is horrible, and apparently they did it because they want people to chant "feed me more". I get the idea, just the beginning of that song is so horrible that I can't chant along with it.
  • CM Punk refers to TNA as an indy league. Kurt Angle gets seriously pissed off and challenges Punk to a fight on Twitter and so forth. Kurt Angle + Booze + Twitter = gold.
  • WWE has a meeting supposedly where they ask the employees to address their concerns and nobody speaks up. Tough to do it when you think you'll be fired. However, they correct a clerical error and give the talent more money from their recent check problems.
  • Guillermo Rodriguez is the younger brother of Alberto Del Rio and has been signed to WWE as Memo Montenegro. I'd love to see them as tag champs, what about you?
  • HHH is supposedly high on Michael McGillicutty and Drew McIntyre, but not the divas division, and wants to rebuild the tag team division as well. I'm all for this, although I'm not sure that McGillicutty has anything going for him without a COMPLETE overhaul of his character and name and such.

Hottest Divas & Knockouts Tournament: Round 4, Matches 173-176

Posted by Anthony Mango - Wednesday, August 15, 2012

Who are the sexiest wrestling women in WWE and TNA history? We are now on ROUND 4 of the tournament with matches #173-176. First thing's first, here are your results from panel 1 for Round 4:

Mickie James beat Lacey Von Erich | Eve Torres beat Stephanie McMahon
Maryse Ouellet beat Jennifer Tinney | Trish Stratus beat Candice Michelle

So here's the next set of matches for you to vote on!

Miss Jackie Gayda Haas vs Carmella DeCesare

Jackie Gayda vs Carmella DeCesare

[THOUGHTS: Jackie's had an impressive run so far, but Carmella should be a real tough match for her. She could still come out on top - and wouldn't we like to see that, if you catch my drift?]

Marlena (Terri Runnels) vs Stacy Keibler

Marlena vs Stacy Keibler

[THOUGHTS: Stacy Keibler is pretty much always going to be the horse to bet on in this race so it'll be tough for even someone like the classic WWF Marlena.]

Miss Tessmacher Brooke Adams vs Christy Hemme

Brooke Adams vs Christy Hemme

[THOUGHTS: Brooke Adams is one hell of a Hooters girl for a reason. She's been destroying competition so far. Does that mean Christy Hemme is next in line for an ass-whooping?]

Gail Kim vs Layla El

Gail Kim vs Layla El

[THOUGHTS: Gail Kim struggled with Crystal Louthan and Layla was able to knock off a Bella twin, so the smart bet is that Layla will win this round. Gail Kim is a more searched woman according to Google this year, though, so that might be a factor here.]

DIFFERENCES IN MY BRACKET FOR PANEL 2
Since I have a second bracket of solely my votes for you guys to see, we differ sometimes. Everything above is the same except the following matches below:

Velvet Sky vs Carmella DeCesare

[THOUGHTS: Velvet Sky all the way, and that's saying a lot since I've been unwavering in my votes for Carmella.]

Miss Tessmacher Brooke Adams vs Simona Fusco

[THOUGHTS: Again, Brooke is too much competition. Fusco put up a good showing in this tournament, but this is where her train stops.]

Brooke Gilbertsen vs Layla El

[THOUGHTS: Though I think Brooke Gilbertsen is insanely cute, when it comes to overall attractiveness, Layla wins this round for me.]

Watch each part below:
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3

  • Don't forget to vote on the latest group of matches for the hottest divas & knockouts tournament
  • Brian Jossie aka Abraham Washington (aka AW) has been released from WWE because of the Kobe Bryant comment. He then went on Twitter and talked about how it's ridiculous that they have no attitude anymore and they're just playing it safe. I agree. Now, the rape joke is insensitive, but it's insensitive ENTERTAINMENT. It's not like WWE was doing a pro-rape sponsorship ad, it was just a heel saying something to get a boo. Overreaction because of Linda's campaign, which should not be a priority over your product for anyone but Linda.
  • JTG expressed his concerns with only being paid $2000 for the WrestleMania weekend and his frustrations about being used in the company. Some say he might be trying to get fired, others say that's not the case. That's too small of an amount of money I would think for an entire week, so I understand his plight for that.
  • Rosa Mendes was arrested for public intoxication, leading to the hash tag #FreeRosa
  • Maria Kanellis has been talking trash about Kelly Kelly - Kenny Dykstra thinks it's about CM Punk.
  • WWE Saturday Morning Slam is going to be a show directed towards kids, having one match and wasting a bunch of other time. Ugh.
  • Possible backstage altercation between Ryback and Brock Lesnar? Total bullshit rumor?

Hottest Divas & Knockouts Tournament: Round 4, Matches 169-172

Posted by Anthony Mango - Tuesday, August 7, 2012

Who are the sexiest wrestling women in WWE and TNA history? We are now on ROUND 4 of the tournament with matches #169-172. First thing's first, here are your results from panel 3 for Round 3:

Kelly Kelly beat Camille Anderson | Lita beat Karen Angle
Sunny beat Natalya Neidhart | Erica Chevillar beat Sable
Maria Kanellis beat Gorgeous George | Savannah beat AJ Lee
Jasmin St. Claire beat Michelle McCool | Ashley Valence beat Chyna

So here's the next set of matches for you to vote on!

Mickie James vs Lacey Von Erich

Mickie James vs Lacey Von Erich

[THOUGHTS: Lacey tied Torrie last round but won with my vote, while Mickie handedly beat Ashley Massaro. It would appear as though Mickie James has the edge, but there have been shockers you guys have pulled on me so I can't be sure.]

Eve Torres vs Stephanie McMahon

Eve Torres vs Stephanie McMahon

[THOUGHTS: Nobody's been able to remove the Billion Dollar Princess from the tournament, but Trinity came close last round. Eve has had a much smoother ride, so she has the edge. Then again, Stephanie just made an appearance on TV and looked great while Eve has fallen down on the Divas Hierarchy as of the past few weeks. That might be a factor.]

Maryse Ouellet vs Jennifer Tinney

Maryse Ouellet vs Jennifer Tinney

[THOUGHTS: Maryse soundly defeated Kimberly Page, who in her own right is gorgeous, but JT Tinney upset Madison Rayne, a gorgeous girl as well. Maryse could have a fight on her hands. This could have been a potential finals as both are, well, just look.]

Candice Michelle vs Trish Stratus

Candice Michelle vs Trish Stratus

[THOUGHTS: Two strong competitors, but Trish seems to be more favored amongst the voters as she was able to knock down the very popular Beth Phoenix. Still, Candice could pull off a win against her.]

DIFFERENCES IN MY BRACKET FOR PANEL 1
Since I have a second bracket of solely my votes for you guys to see, we differ sometimes. Everything above is the same except the following matches below:

Eve Torres vs Tiffany (Taryn Terrell)

[THOUGHTS: Tiffany was knocked out in the first round on your votes, but I kept her going. Am I going to keep her another round, or is this time to sync up with you guys (unless you vote for Stephanie over Eve)? Tough fight.]

Maryse Ouellet vs Madison Rayne

[THOUGHTS: This one is insanely tough for me to decide on and I honestly don't know what I'm going with yet. Both of these women could have been in the finals as far as I'm concerned, and both of them could have won. It legitimately bothers me that this has to be decided so early on. I'll probably decide at the last minute.]

TNA Hardcore Justice 2012 PPV - here is your spot for live results coverage and a review to go along with it. Who is going to win? Austin Aries defends the World Heavyweight Championship against Bobby Roode. AJ Styles vs Christopher Daniels vs Samoa Joe vs Kurt Angle ladder match. James Storm vs Bully Ray vs Jeff Hardy vs Robbie E tables match. Pope D'Angelo Dinero vs Magnus vs Mr. Anderson vs Rob Van Dam Falls Count Anywhere match. Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez vs Gunner and Kid Kash. Miss Tessmacher defends the Knockouts Championship against Madison Rayne. Zema Ion defends the X-Division title against Kenny King.

PREDICTIONS: Austin Aries retains the title. The Bound for Glory matches are toss-ups but if I have to guess I'll say Kurt Angle, Jeff Hardy, and Mr Anderson. Chavo and Hernandez win. Tessmacher retains. Zema Ion retains.

Gunner & Kid Kash vs. Chavo Guerrero & Hernandez
Chavo seems like he'd be a good fit in TNA. That being said, he won't be a world champ, if that's the mentality that a lot of people have in regards to him being there. He could world really well in the tag team, X-Division, and TV title pictures, though. Chavo takes a beating and wrestles most of the match. After fighting back, he and Hernandez end off the match with a frog splash on Chavo's part.

WINNERS: Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez via pinfall.
Impact quality match. Not a great start to the event. Too generic.

Bound for Glory Series [Falls Count Anywhere Match]: Rob Van Dam vs. The Pope D'Angelo Dinero vs. Magnus vs. Mr. Anderson
There's a stall with Dinero not coming out. Backstage, he's being taken out by the Aces and Eights. I still expect Anderson to say Mr. Kennedy instead - that was more fun to chant along with. They're talking about Magnus being a big, strong guy....yeah, against me, but not up in comparison to most of the other guys out there. Some chair action, nothing special. RVD hits a frog splash - second time we've seen that move tonight. Magnus just said too loudly for the camera to hear "give me a fucking chair", ha. RVD hits Magnus with the Van Daminator and wins by pinning him on the stage.

WINNER: RVD via pinfall.
Since the previous match was bland to me, it made this feel like it had to make up for it, and I don't think it did. I'm not enjoying this ppv yet.

FYI, at the moment, RVD is #2 in the tournament with 55 points, behind James Storm with 66.

Backstage, Borash asks Madison Rayne about Earl Hebner. Jesus, Rayne looks good. She says she doesn't need help to win titles and blows Hebner a kiss.

TNA Television Championship: Devon (c) vs. Kazarian
If Devon wins here and he wins with force, then I think it's safe to say they're going to re-sign with TNA instead of go to WWE. If he just wins through luck or something, then there's a chance he can drop it on Impact. Of course, if he loses the title here, then that's even more of a sign than that. Let's see what happens. Devon's doing a lot of damage in this match, so I guess that's a sign he's staying. Kazarian goes for Fade to Black but Devon gets out of it and hits a spinebuster to win.

WINNER: Devon via pinfall.
Sticking with the bland and generic matches.

Knockouts Championship: Miss Tessmacher (c) vs. Madison Rayne
They might as well change her name to Brooke Tessmacher or Tess, I think it would fit her so much better than keeping the "Miss" part, don't you? Guaranteed this will be better than any divas match WWE will put on this entire month - or year possibly. Madison's getting upset that Earl isn't counting her a faster win. He's calling it down the middle basically. Madison rolls Tessmacher up from behind and holds onto the ropes, but Hebner counts anyway.

WINNER (and new Knockout's champion): Madison Rayne via pinfall.
Like I said, better than any women's match WWE would put on.

Backstage, Borash talks to Bully Ray. Ray's watching out for the Aces and Eights.

Bound for Glory Series [Tables Match]: Robbie E vs. Bully Ray vs. Jeff Hardy vs. James Storm
No Robbie T to move the rope - SoCal Val does instead. You remember SoCal Val, the woman who has never done anything of worth in TNA yet still has a job somehow. I seriously don't understand that whatsoever. As much as I hate country music, James Storm's music is one of the best in TNA when it comes to suiting the wrestler and feeling like an entrance song instead of just something to play in the background. Ok, so wouldn't it be interesting if Robbie E won this match after Aces and Eights attack Bully Ray and weaken him? Hardy and Storm need to be thrown into that multi-man match, I'm thinking. Robbie E's just being abused by everyone else, so it'd be interesting to see a total reversal from beginning to end of the match. Storm goes for a Superplex on Robbie E while Hardy does a power bomb, but Bully Ray pulls the table out of the way so as to not win the match for one of them. That was a good idea, but it was done too safely to be pulled off and not look fake - and it would have been too dangerous to do it quicker. There are some interesting "saves" though, in this match - like Hardy clotheslining Storm so he isn't thrown into the table by Robbie E. Robbie T comes to the ring and Jeff Hardy takes him out. Robbie puts Hardy on a table outside and jumps off the middle rope, but Hardy moves out of the way and goes through it himself. Since Hardy didn't put him through it, the match continues. Wouldn't it make sense to say that Robbie E is eliminated from the match? Aces and Eights show up and distract Bully Ray, allowing James Storm to get the Last Call on him. They give Storm a thumbs up and do nothing to him, but he gets jumped by Jeff Hardy and they do nothing to help Storm. Hardy hits a Twist of Fate on Storm and the Aces and Eights distract him, allowing Storm to hit another Last Call. Bully Ray comes into the ring, tosses Storm out, power bombs Hardy through the table and bolts out of the ring holding his right arm, saying "I've shattered it".

WINNER: Bully Ray via Power Bomb
Best match so far tonight.

Backstage, Borash talks to Austin Aries. He says Roode hasn't given him any respect. He won't need a rematch because he'll prove that his victory last month wasn't a fluke and win again. Roode is on the A-level, but not on the A-Double-Level.

X-Division Championship: Zema Ion (c) vs. Kenny King
How many times does Zema Ion have to spray his hair when he comes to the ring? Lots of athleticism and fast action - as expected. Good change of pace. Kenny King suplexes Zema Ion into the turnbuckle and Ion lands a little awkwardly on his head - but he's not injured like Sorensen. Kenny's proven himself in this match alone that he should have a contract with TNA or WWE. King hits a swift kick to the head and rolls Ion up for a 2.5 - really looked like a potential win there. Ion reverses a sunset flip attempt into a faceplant and retains the title.

WINNER: Zema Ion via pinfall.
Good match - best so far tonight, one-ups the previous one. Let's keep this roll going.

Backstage, Borash asks Samoa Joe about the tournament. Joe touts himself as taking another step towards getting his title back and says he's not worried about the Aces and Eights.

Bound for Glory Series [Ladder Match]: AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels vs. Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe
AJ starts off going right after Daniels while Joe and Angle just watch, then decide to go after Daniels as well. Now it's every man for himself. Joe slams Daniels into a ladder and seems to be having a lot of fan support when he approaches the idea of climbing the ladder. Angle's over the most it would seem to me at least, though. Angle hits a belly-to-belly suplex on Joe and the crowd starts chanting "USA". Joe picks up AJ for a Muscle Buster but Angle suplexes Joe instead (with AJ just awkwardly falling forward). Ankle Lock on Daniels, who taps, but of course that won't win the match for Kurt. Daniels pushes the ladder and AJ falls to the outside. Angle and Joe take Daniels out in more ways than one. Daniels gets placed in between two rungs of a ladder while Joe and Angle climb. Out of nowhere, AJ springboards onto a ladder, grabs the envelope and falls to win the match.

WINNER: AJ Styles via Shelton Benjamin.
Good match.

TNA World Heavyweight Championship: Austin Aries (c) vs. Bobby Roode
Aries spits in Roode's face. Roode stalls a lot and is frustrated at Aries continually getting the best of him. Match starts to even itself up. Nice missile dropkick from Aries. Roode gets his legs up when Aries tries the 450. Aries dodges a spear attempt from Roode, who takes out the ref instead. He then spears Aries but by the time the replacement ref comes out, Aries can kick out. This new ref gets taken out as well. Aries kicks Roode in the head, then hits the Brainbuster. First ref, Brian Hebner counts, but Roode kicks out. There's a double pin with both referees claiming different winners. Earl Hebner comes out to talk to the two referees. They decide to start the match over again. Aries flies to the outside but hits the belt in Roode's hands in the process. Aries kicks out. Roode is livid. Aries rolls Roode up and gets the win.

WINNER: Austin Aries via pinfall.
Not bad, but not some match of the year candidate.

HIGH SPOTS
1. X-Division Championship
2. Tables match
3. Ladder match

LOW BLOWS
1. Opening tag match
2. Falls Count Anywhere match
3. TNA feels the need to have every pay-per-view include a ref bump

CRITIQUE RATING SCALE: 2-COUNT NEAR-FALL (Meh)
Reasoning: Too generic in a lot of ways with a few good things peppered in.
