  • WrestleMania is tomorow! Check out my predictions here and make sure to follow the results and review coverage here!
  • Don't forget to vote on the latest group of matches for the hottest divas & knockouts tournament
  • David Otunga took a shot at TNA, saying "If imitation is the highest form of flattery, I'm flatter than Impact's ratings right now" because of TNA's lawyer character with the Bobby Roode storyline, supposedly. Nice shot, Otunga!
  • Evan Bourne's foot is broken in four places. Ouch. Just when his suspension ends. Future endeavors coming up, watch out.
  • CM Punk tweeted #shootme during a meeting that WWE was having about the proper use of hashtags and how to optimize their Twitter usage. Jericho also tweeted a picture of himself looking bored out of his mind during the meeting.
  • WWE Magazine says that someone competing at WrestleMania this year may be retiring before next year's WrestleMania. Who could this be? My bet is Booker T.

Watch each part below:
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4

  • John Cena car accident? It was Rikishi! He did it for the Rock!
  • Don't forget to vote on the third group of matches for the hottest divas & knockouts tournament
  • Kurt Angle went on another Twitter tirade, essentially (this time) bitching about Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels and how he's better than them, saying things like "could either of u take me as a shoot" and "I became a top star in 1 year but it took Shawn and Austin 15 years. Hello?" Naturally, Angle then apologized. Someone needs to either get this guy away from Twitter for his own well-being or at the very least, get him drunk more often so he does this constantly, as it's entertaining.
  • Lilian Garcia screwed up and announced "Long Island Iced Z Jack Swagger". This prompted Cena to bring out Tony Chimel, calling him a professional that knows what he's doing. They repeatedly cut the mic on Chimel, then Cena did the announcing himself. Seems like Lilian gets her balls busted (metaphorically speaking) quite a bit in WWE.
  • Daniel Bryan dating Brie Bella in real life and AJ in kayfabe storylines while he's the World Heavyweight Champion? Yeesh...talk about undeserved. (Boooo, we hate Tony for saying that, booo you should watch his ROH stuff! - just playing with you guys, but seriously, Bryan's overrated)
  • Shane Douglas was at Raw wearing a mask and was escorted out of the building. This was a failed attempt at promoting his Extreme Reunion show.
  • Yokozuna will be inducted into this year's Hall of Fame by the Usos and Rikishi. Awesome. Very well deserved. Curious as to why Mr Fuji wasn't doing it, but his family certainly works.
  • Rumors that FCW will be shutting down seem to be causing a lot of feathers to be ruffled. Triple H says the reports are erroneous and they're just making it better, but other things point that they might be in the beginning steps of doing away with FCW and instead, relocating to Stamford, which is upsetting talent because of the higher cost of living in that area. Bright House Network isn't going to be running the programming for FCW anymore, so that's a big part of this, but they claim they're shopping the show to different networks rather than abandoning it entirely. Something to keep your eyes on...WWE does lie.
  • Matthew Bloom is expected to be Lord Tensai. He is rumored to be pushed to the top and feud with the likes of Cena and Orton, as well as possibly be a henchman to John Laurinaitis.

TNA Victory Road 2012 Results & Review PPV Coverage

Posted by Anthony Mango - Sunday, March 18, 2012

TNA's Victory Road 2012 PPV - here is your spot for live results coverage and a review to go along with it. Who is going to win? TNA Champion Bobby Roode versus Sting, Kurt Angle versus Jeff Hardy, X-Division Champion Austin Aries versus Zema Ion, Bully Ray versus James Storm, Knockouts Champion Gail Kim versus Madison Rayne, Tag Team Champions Samoa Joe and Magnus versus Crimson and Matt Morgan, AJ Styles and Mr. Anderson versus Kazarian and Christopher Daniels.

PREDICTIONS: I'm expecting Joe and Magnus to retain the titles just so Crimson and Morgan can feud with each other (Magnus and Joe keeping it just until they figure out who else they want to take it from them, maybe MCMG). Jeff Hardy to go over Kurt Angle unless they plan on doing a second match between the two, then Angle wins. Roode defeats Sting. Aries retains the title against Zema Ion. Kazarian and Daniels beat Styles and Anderson. James Storm defeats Bully Ray. Gail Kim retains against Madison Rayne.

To start off the pay-per-view, Bully Ray comes out, grabs a mic, and tells everyone to shut up. The crowd chants "we want Devon". "Do you know who I am?" = "boooooooo!!!" Haha...Bully Ray is one of the highlights of TNA for sure. He says he's trending worldwide because he's taking the ppv hostage. There's not going to be a ppv until he gets what he wants - his match against Storm to be a #1 contender's match. Storm says Ray has chicken legs (fans chant "chicken legs" in response).

James Storm vs. Bully Ray
Storm starts the match right off. Within barely any time, he hits the Last Call and gets the pin on Bully Ray.

WINNER: James Storm via pinfall.
Not much of a match to review as it was maybe 60 seconds long.

Backstage with Jeremy Borash & Austin Aries
JV-Uno @Bottomline333's question for Austin Aries is when Sting will smarten up and main event Austin Aries [good question]. Bischoff replaces Borash, but asks the question anyway. Aries says he already is the main event.

X-Division Championship: Austin Aries (c) vs. Zema Ion
Why does Zema Ion bring hairspray to the ring? Dumb. Ion keeps flipping over Aries repeatedly at different turnbuckles, so Aries just stops running and uses Ion's hairspray instead. Then, not to be shown up, does a cartwheel soon afterward. Aries knocks Ion out of the ring, grabs SoCal Val's phone and tweets. Ion does a nice corkscrew crossbody, but only gets a two-count out of it. Ion hits a moonsault on the outside (this time, not injuring Aries). Later, he mocks the pendulum elbow drop unsuccessfully. Ion tries to cheat with the hairspray and the title, but Aries still kicks out. Aries hits the brainbuster and follows it up with the Last Chancery, making Zema Ion submit.

WINNER: Austin Aries via submission.
Good match, as expected, since Austin Aries was in it.

Commercial for the Motor City Machine Guns. Hopefully they're the next tag champs.

Tag Team Championship: Samoa Joe & Magnus (c) vs. Crimson & Matt Morgan
Story of the match is (naturally) Morgan and Crimson not meshing well together. Everything else is taking a backseat. It makes Magnus and Joe look like even less of a tag team, but that's clearly what they are anyway, just transitional people thrown together to give Crimson and Morgan people to wrestle for their feud. Shame they didn't have a real tag team available to do that storyline with. Morgan wants Crimson to tag him in, but Crimson keeps refusing to. "We want Morgan", "no we don't" chants going on. Crimson starts losing, but Morgan tags himself in and cleans house. Crimson tags himself back in, Morgan tags himself back in afterward. Crimson is basically leaving, saying "I'm the winner of this team". Morgan says "fuck you, I don't need your ass". Crimson comes back in and spears Morgan, then leaves. Heel turn. Joe and Magnus double team Morgan and finish him off with an elbow drop for the win.

WINNERS: Samoa Joe & Magnus via pinfall.
Story for the match was good. Match itself, meh.

Backstage with Borash and Bobby Roode
Borash apologizes for Bischoff and says "what can I say about him that hasn't already been said about him backstage for 20 years?" He asks Roode a question from Ryan Gilmore asking how Roode is going to get in Sting's head. Roode seems like he doesn't know how to respond and kind of stalls and struggles. Storm comes over to him and says he's not looking for a match, he's looking for a fight.

Taz complains that it's a "hash tag" instead of a "pound sign". I agree.

Robbie E Open Challenge
He says every contracted wrestler already has a match. Fans chant for RVD. He decides to have it be a fan challenge instead. "These three chicks right here? Bro, they're like 400 pounds each, I'm not getting in the ring with them." He says he'll wrestle with SoCal Val later tonight. He says they'll pose instead. Devon comes out from the crowd and takes the challenge. Hebner says Terry needs to get out of the ring and starts the match.

Television Championship: Robbie E (c) vs. Devon
Robbie E tries to take a steel chair from Brooke Hogan who is ringside in the crowd, but she doesn't let him. Devon for the most part destroys Robbie E. Eventually, he hits a spinebuster and bam, new champion.

WINNER (and new TV champion): Devon via pinfall.
Meh.

Backstage with Borash and Dixie
Dixie says Slammiversary is going to be in her hometown for the 10th year of TNA.

Knockouts Championship: Gail Kim (c) vs. Madison Rayne
I really hate Madison Rayne's theme, still. Why is Gail's theme basically the same as the Legion of Doom? Shame, cause I like everything else about her (how couldn't I?) They start the match off by grabbing each others hair. What is this, WWE? Does that mean they're going to follow it up with a half-assed one-legged "dropkick" and stupid screaming too? Reversals ("they know each other so well") are the majority of the match it seems. Madison screams out "we're not friends anymore". Taz mispronounces "Mickie Maniac" as "Mickie Mannequin". Gail hits her finisher and wins the match.

WINNER: Gail Kim via pinfall.
Not bad. By far better than what we'll see at WrestleMania with Kelly Kelly and Maria Menounos versus Eve Torres and Beth Phoenix...ugh.

Backstage with Borash, Daniels, and Kazarian
Daniels says it's his game plan. Anderson's getting in the way of the history the three of them have.

AJ Styles & Mr. Anderson vs. Christopher Daniels & Kazarian
Blah blah blah. They cut to a guy in the crowd sitting next to Dixie Carter who is apparently the host of some Spike TV show. He looks bored. AJ does a very prolonged delayed vertical suplex on Daniels. Nice job. @LoneWolf26104 says Taz is always right...Taz makes it a point to let the audience know about the tweet. Ref in this match perpetually doesn't care that tag partners aren't behind the ropes in their proper spot. That's annoying. AJ counters Kazarian's finisher with the Styles Clash for the win.

WINNERS: AJ Styles & Mr. Anderson via pinfall.
Meh...I honestly wasn't feeling it.

Backstage with Borash and Kurt Angle
Kurt wants his kid Cody to watch him destroy Jeff, because Jeff is all that's wrong with wrestling nowadays.

Kurt Angle vs. Jeff Hardy
This is taking WAY too long for them to start this match. It's annoying me so much. There's some woman (women?) SHRIEKING in the crowd frequently. Good lord, someone needs to hit her with a chair right in the face. This woman just does not stop. That's really taking me out of this match and I'm considering muting this. This is one of those matches that the fans in the crowd are chanting "this is awesome" to, but I haven't been reporting anything because really, in my mind, there's nothing noteworthy happening. Hardy hitting Whisper in the Wind, for instance, is just a standard in his matches, not something crazy. People kicking out of the Angle Slam, standard. Twist of Fate attempts being reversed, standard. Blah. Angle uses the ropes and pins Hardy, or so they're telling us, because everything was a jumbled up mess and Hardy wasn't even pinned down, but whatever, it's TNA.

WINNER: Kurt Angle via pinfall.
Not a fan.

Backstage with Borash and Sting
Phillip Kaminski asks the difference between being a wrestler and being the boss. Sting says he's tired of that stuff, now it's time to wrestle.

Bobby Roode vs. Sting
Sting beats the shit out of Roode, Roode tries to leave, Sting stops him...you know how it goes. Roode works on Sting's legs. This is just Sting destroying Roode for the most part. The fans keep chanting that Sting still has "it". Seems like this is more about putting Sting over than Roode, which is a mistake in my opinion. Sting goes for a Scorpion Death Drop and hits it, but in the process, hits his head on the chair that Roode had set up in the ring beforehand. Roode puts his arm over Sting and wins the match.

WINNER: Bobby Roode via pinfall.
Didn't like it, especially not for the main event of a pay-per-view.

Roode throws the ref outside of the ring after the match. Roode gets another chair, then pulls Dixie Carter out from the crowd and puts her in the ring. Crowd is chanting for Hogan. Sting fights Roode off from hurting Dixie or himself. Roode then hits Sting in the back with the chair. Why isn't Storm coming out? Roode starts duct taping Sting to the ring ropes. Nothing is happening. This should have been on Impact, not on a pay-per-view after the main event...for like 10 minutes.

HIGH SPOTS
1. Austin Aries vs Zema Ion
2. The concept of Crimson wrestling the majority of the match out of ego
3. Bully Ray's promo

LOW BLOWS
1. The main events didn't feel like main events to me
2. That woman shrieking (not TNA's fault, but still)
3. Devon's the new TV champ. I like Robbie E better

CRITIQUE RATING SCALE: 2-COUNT NEAR-FALL (Meh)
Reasoning: The matches weren't horrible, but they weren't great. I always find myself wishing the TNA ppvs would just end already and this was no exception, but at least there were some entertaining moments in it.

Wrestling Smack Talk: 3/17/2012

What's been going on this week in the world of professional wrestling? It's time to break it down in the latest edition of SMACK TALK, my wrestling podcast and the quick notes below. Make sure to subscribe, comment on the videos and this post, and let us know your thoughts.

Watch each part below:
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4

  • Money in the Bank has been moved to June 17th, while the July 15th ppv is now No Way Out, despite how they keep saying that MITB might possibly be at SummerSlam for Wade Barrett to win and then face CM Punk. Jesus, WWE, stick to a plan already. As you can tell, I'm not bothering to update my 2012 WWE PPV schedule until they stick to something for more than a week. Also, why is No Way Out being used in something other than Elimination Chamber? I hope for their sake it isn't a cage match gimmick ppv because we already have the chamber as well as Hell in a Cell. Don't saturate the market, WWE.
  • Balls Mahoney threw up after having a match with Marty Jannetty wherein Marty hit him in the head with a chair, square on. Yeah...that's safe. Then again, can you expect much more from a guy that goes by the name of Balls and looks like...well...the way Balls Mahoney looks? I hope these guys don't continue doing this as they'll kill themselves.
  • Jacob Novak wants to get back in WWE as he claims an injury caused his release. He also says he made $500 per week at FCW. Ouch.
  • Brodus Clay comes back after losing weight. Guess that means the reports of him being "unsafe to work with" really meant "fat".
  • MGK will perform at WrestleMania. WHY?!? They're already going to waste so much time as it is. They should just make Mania 5 hours because we know that at least one and a half hours of it will be elongated entrances, Rock promos, vignettes, and commercials. Ugh.
  • Jim Neidhart was arrested for contempt of court and may face several months jail time.
  • Eric Bischoff ruffled some feathers when he said on Twitter: "Just had a beer here in Nashville. Bartender asked me I worked for the boss 'Jeremy Borash.' When I asked 'WTF' that was supposed to mean, I was told emphatically that Jeremy has represented himself as an 'owner' of TNA. Jeremy is a low rent bit player who should be fortunate he has a job."
  • One year sober for Billy Gunn. Congrats!
  • Don't forget to vote on the first group of matches for the hottest divas & knockouts tournament!

Hottest Divas & Knockouts Tournament: Round 1, Matches 1-8

Posted by Anthony Mango - Wednesday, March 14, 2012

The tournament has officially begun! Here is how this will work. There are 192 women from the history of WWE, WWF, ECW, WCW, and TNA that are competing with each other for your votes for who is the sexiest of them all. As such, the brackets will be broken down into three panels of 64 women per piece. Multiple matches will take place in each post so as to keep this as clean, organized, and quick as possible (we don't want this tournament taking years, do we?). Each match will have a poll on the post according to it and the votes will last for a week. The women who win their polls will go on to the next round and that Wednesday, we'll start another set of matches on the same round, same bracket panel, until we're done all of the first round matches on all 3 panels. Then, round 2 will begin, and we'll repeat until we eventually come down to a winner for each of the 3 panels. This will then end in a triple threat match where there are three polls: Finalist #1 vs Finalist #2, Finalist #2 vs Finalist #3, and Finalist #1 vs Finalist #3. Whomever wins both matches will win and whomever won the other match will win second place.

I will personally be voting in both the fan vote as well as a separate bracket of my own personal votes (separate because the first time I disagree with the fan vote, it would stop matching up). If for some reason there's a tie in your votes, the tie-breaker will either be an extra day's voting or determined by my vote [unless you guys have a better solution, in which case, put it down in the comments!]

Without further ado, let me present to you the matches for PANEL #1. Take note that the five women eliminated from the tournament before it began were Aja Kong, Asya, Bertha Faye, Nicole Bass, and Peggy Lee Leather.

Jacqueline Moore vs. Ashley Massaro

YOUR WINNER: Ashley Massaro
MY WINNER: Ashley Massaro

Anastacia Rose vs. Melissa Wolfram

  • Hulk Hogan sex tape? Good lord, brother. Hogan supposedly was filmed without his knowledge by a woman who isn't his ex or current wives posing, talking about how he's been working out, and so forth. My position about sex tapes applies to everyone - if it's a hot woman, I'd like to see it, but they're all either a horrible invasion of privacy or a stupid tactic to boost your celebrity status. If it's for the former, I support your anti-leak stance (even if I secretly hope it leaks for real because sex tapes of hot celebrities are awesome) but if it's the latter and you think it'll make you famous, blah. Still, funny idea, a Hulk Hogan sex tape leaking out.
  • Brian Kendrick has kicked his marijuana habit (or so he says) and might be working with WWE again for their Cruiserweight show on WWE Network. Makes sense.
  • Money in the Bank NOT back as a ppv, possibly, but could end up at SummerSlam? Decide already, WWE....
  • The Rock bought a new mansion. I'm envious.
  • Remember to vote on the pre-bracket eliminations for the hottest divas/knockouts tournament! Choose five in your vote and eventually the five women that have the most votes by Tuesday night will be eliminated and the tournament will begin.

Sexy WWE Divas & TNA Knockouts Tournament: Qualifications

Posted by Anthony Mango - Saturday, March 3, 2012

Who are the hottest and sexiest WWE Divas and TNA Knockouts? Well, it's time for a tournament. Eventually, there will be a bracket consisting of 192 Divas and Knockouts pitted against each other in a tournament to determine who is the most attractive woman in wrestling history. Before we can do that, however, there's a bit too many names in the hat right now, so the field needs to be narrowed a little bit. I couldn't think of any kind of stipulations that would result in a fair chance for everyone to be involved, nor a way to eliminate certain people from the list by some underlying factor. The only fair thing to do, then, was to take a list of people that are guaranteed not to win (and believe me, I'm not exaggerating here) and have them fight it out to make it into the tournament in general. Thus, I present to you, the first unofficial round of the tournament.

Choose anywhere between one and FIVE people in the poll. Which five aren't good enough to make it into the tournament: Aja Kong, Asya, Bertha Faye, Kharma, Moose, Nicole Bass, ODB, Peggy Lee Leather, Rosie Lottalove, Sapphire, Vickie Guerrero.

PICK 5: Who should be eliminated before the tournament begins?

I've yet to decide when the poll will end, possibly ending when there's been 100 votes cast with the eliminations being who has the most, possibly whomever are the 5 to first reach 10 votes, possibly just within a week's span whomever have the most votes. Either way, if there's a necessary tie-breaker, then that will be short. Once there's a definitive 5 people to eliminate, I'll make the brackets of the real tournament and update this with the beginning of the tournament itself and ROUND ONE. Stay tuned.

Watch each part of EPISODE 18 below:
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3

  • Smark Out Moment is really hurting right now, according to Google's stats. There was a nearly 60% decrease in page views starting at the beginning of February, possibly from Google's new algorithm change (though it doesn't make much sense, but Google doesn't offer any clarification). If you have any information about this page hit drop, if you can inform me as to why you might have stopped checking the website yourself, if you have any suggestions of how to improve the website, PLEASE leave a comment or send me a message via the contact form. Also, if you support this website, please share it with your friends, subscribe on YouTube, like it on Facebook, follow on Twitter, Digg the posts, Google +1 them, etc. Every little bit helps and I would really appreciate it particularly while I'm stressing out and suffering over this.
  • William Regal is the new GM aka Match Coordinator of NXT. Wait, NXT is still on? Why does NXT need a GM?
  • "WWE officials are determined to get a 50/50 reaction for both" John Cena and The Rock at WrestleMania 28. Come on, WWE. Wake up and smell the coffee, people aren't going to cheer John Cena in Miami against the Rock. Just admit it already that you can't turn the fans and stop ignoring it just because you don't want it to be the truth. WWE with John Cena is as bad as the average drug addict.
  • CM Punk has said that his least favorite opponent was Elijah Burke, calling him a diva.
  • Contradicting reports that Jay and Mark Briscoe have been blocked along with Adam Cole by ROH from signing with WWE. Jay has said that it's not true. However, you know how these things go. There's just as much likelihood that the original reports are completely fictitious as there are that they're true and people are just denying it. We'll just have to wait and see which side gets proven a liar.
  • Money in the Bank is back but the location is moved and other pay-per-views are being switched around still? Jesus, WWE, decide already! (By that, I mean keep Money in the Bank as a ppv, don't do Fatal 4-Way, replace TLC with something new and better, etc...in my opinion)
  • Frustration from being forced to wrestle injured may lead to Mark Henry not renewing his WWE contract and leaving the company? After all these years, I hope that's not the case, as he's been doing his best work ever.
