WWE Releases Mickie James, Shelton Benjamin, and Others

Posted by Anthony Mango Thursday, April 22, 2010
Left fucking field. Wow.

WWE has released Kung Fu Naki, Jimmy Wang Yang, Slam Master J, and Katie Lea - all talents that were pretty much on the chopping block as it was.

But they released Mickie James and Shelton Benjamin?!?!?

Mickie was one of their most popular and most accomplished divas EVER. She must have just asked to be released rather than actually being fired, now that she was working on her country music career. That's got to be it. (UPDATE: Apparently she pissed off a lot of people and during this past tour, she was late for a bus which in turn held them up, and it was "the straw that broke the camel's back", which is a possible reason for her release.)

The same has to go for Shelton. He probably received an offer at TNA, similar to what we've been hearing from Charlie Haas that the two of them are looking to be brought in by Angle. That's got to be the case.

This sucks. I thought Katie had some potential and I really liked Mickie and Shelton, a lot. The other three were wastes of money so I'm glad to see them go, but damn...

UPDATE: Mike Knox has also been released. Damn it. I thought Knox was good too. How the fuck are they getting rid of Knox, but they still have Kozlov and Reks and Archer????
